Retreat from Izumo Volcano

Ami held back Sanno's onslaught, buying time for Team Miyata.

"Where are you going!?"

Sanno roared loudly, shaking the space like Ami did.

He connected his katanas into double ones, and with his freed hands he took out two large black spherical magatama and threw them high into the air. The spheres were magnetized and created a powerful electric field. Merging, a single ball released a hail of lightning at the opponents. Electric charges also hit the places where Hidora's blood had spilled, pulling her towards it.

"What's this?" Kamiko became worried.

A huge amount of spilled caked blood along with the nanobots remaining in it rose to the black magatama, also taking the solidified lava with it. All of this, swirling in the air, as if dancing, created a giant black silhouette in the middle of the mountain, until it finally formed into the Oni demon. When it regained consciousness, it roared throughout the mountain, announcing its presence, as if it wasn’t visible from anywhere in the forest. Suddenly, the giant disappeared, crouching sharply. And then it was noticed in the sky.

"It's flying straight at us!" Kamiko shouted, seeing her sister.

They managed to hide, but falling like a meteorite, the Oni sent a shock wave scattering trees, sparing neither the monks nor the Mukibutsu warriors. The demon also partially split during the impact, splashes from it turned into smaller demons, which immediately began to attack the enemies. At the same moment, other creatures of the world of the dead crawled out from the remaining pools of Hidora's blood.

"Izanami! Are you still here!?" Ami called out.

"She's everywhere, sister!" Sanno answered for her, rushing to attack.

"Jutsu, Buki, cover Miyata's retreat!" Ami sent a mental order to both.

"Hey, Jutsu!" Buki called, noticing his comrade running nearby. "Shall we try that move?"

"Go ahead!" Itsuki resolutely agreed.

Buki took out a hand grenade launcher, and Jutsu placed his magatama device on it on the go and programmed their hybrid. The weapon transformed, and Jutsu threw a special projectile to Buki.

"Fire!"

A powerful shot hit the supposed core of the Oni, a deafening explosion resounded, comparable to an aerial bomb.

"Wow!" Kamiko opened her mouth in dismay and then added over the intercom. "Thank you, Jutsu!"

"Hey, I deserve this too!" Buki objected.

"This is no time for praise, run away quickly!" Jutsu stopped them.

While Oni was waving his giant paws, getting rid of the fire and smoke, Kamiko and Fumiko managed to break away from him, but they were caught up and surrounded by smaller demons along with the Mukibutsu androids. Fumiko, seeing them, made a powerful swing with her long cybernetic hair, enhanced by her new ability, and threw the opponents back. However, one of the androids survived and grabbed her. Kamiko cut off his head with a quick, precise movement of her katana, freeing her sister. However, the number of Izanami servants and androids only increased.

"How useless I am…" Keshita lamented his situation, dangling on his sister's chest.

"That's not true, brother. Thanks to your strength, I can fight now too!" Fumiko objected.

"With a body, I could do something…" Keshita looked around, not finding any human corpses. There was only Hidora's blood splattered everywhere, constantly rising from the ground, as well as the metal remains of androids.

"I'll help… sister." Suddenly, a digital voice sounded nearby.

"Eh?" Fumiko was surprised. "N-ningen?"

"You can call me that. It's certainly better than Takeshi number two."

"Don't even dream about it!"

Keshita looked into the eyes of his android version. He often noticed this look in his reflection, full of sorrow and regret, but wanting to fix everything at all costs.

"Even though I can't read his thoughts…" Keshita closed his eyes. "I believe him."

"Why are you doing this all of a sudden? Well… but I can…"

Fumiko connected to Ningen and analyzed the data.

"Surprisingly, it seems he really has changed… I hope this isn't a scam with a double bottom. I’ve no choice. In any case, I'll deal with you if anything happens. But what good are you?"

Buki shot the androids approaching Fumiko with a sniper rifle and, together with Kamiko, bought her time while Mellow attached Ningen's head to one of the fallen Mukibutsu androids. After making sure that the enemy's body had not transmitted the viruses and having prepared everything, she gave "will" to Ningen. He immediately stood up, grabbed the nearest weapon and furiously rushed into battle against the Mukibutsu androids.

"Brother…" Fumiko looked dreamily.

"We need to hurry!" Keshita shouted at her.

They managed to escape from the forces of Izanami and Mukibutsu, getting out of the entrance torii.

Having descended from the mountain, the Miyata sisters saw the Izumo-taisha temple in flames. Kamiko looked at this with pain, barely restraining herself from going there.

Fumiko looked at the monks guarding them, who were having an even harder time. "Go…"

"But Ms. Mellow!"

"That's an order!"

They split up, the Miyata sisters heading to Izumo, which was also in chaos by then.

"Morning? I've forgotten what the sun looks like." Kamiko noted, looking around the city, tired.

"It seemed like this battle had been going on forever."

People were running around the streets screaming, smashing store windows, trying to get more supplies. Explosions could be heard in the city's administrative district and police stations.

"So it's the end of the world…" Kamiko stated.

"Yes, the Mukibutsu forces are seizing power throughout the country, using their extensive network of underground organizations." Fumiko explored cyberspace.

"All is not lost yet!" Keshita suddenly said. "We can fix everything!"

"Brother, how I missed your optimism…" Fumiko was surprised.

"Huh? I always thought he was a skeptic." Kamiko objected.

"I don't remember you very well, but for some reason it seems to me that you haven't changed…" Keshita suddenly became sentimental but quickly returned to reality. "First, we need to stop Mikhail's expansion and then help your friend Ami!"

"Yes!"

The sisters agreed with the enthusiast at once, although the surrounding chaos didn’t give them hope.

The girls ran to the railway tracks, examining the station.

"The nearest train…" Fumiko analyzed the information. "Most routes have been suspended due to the situation in the country! A state of emergency has been declared!"

"Well then…" Kamiko said, proudly raising her nose. "It seems we’ve no choice."

She jumped onto the rails, changing the bot mode, moved the katana to her chest and pointed to her back with her thumb.

"Jump on."

"Huh?" Fumiko was embarrassed.

But she still jumped right on her sister, not finding an alternative.

"Wow, Fumiko, have you gotten fat?" Kamiko joked.

"What!? T-It's all these heads… and-and the evolutionary virus!"

"What? So that's why you've become so strong! Did Takeshi share his power with you? But how? Can I’ve some too?"

"Never mind! Let's go quickly!" She kicked her sister, as if harnessing a horse.

"Easy!" Kamiko was indignant. "And hold on tight! "

"I have no arms!" Keshita reminded him and then screamed from the sudden movement.
