Chapter 6:

Blending in Part 3

The Robot That Caught The Human Disease

They have reached the movie theaters and Yui was getting increasingly nervous. She started to walk in circles, the way a confused Type B, would usually do. She followed the group further into the darker room once they finalized their check in, slipping into her assigned seat based on the ticket. She sat in-between Rinrin and Mei, the two girls.

With popcorn and drinks set, the movie started. Yui started to blow air out of her mouth as she watched everyone. From what she gathered, humans liked to watch movies. This was Yui’s first movie, and she didn’t know how to react, so she decided to analyze. Halfway through the movie, she just looked confused on the different display of emotions. There were so many emotions, it was hard for her to get a read on. She looked at the people beside her, all of the people were tearing up, sobbing at a scene including Haruto and Kaito. How is it that all of them were crying? Mei turned towards her, a little confused as she used her fingers to wipe the tears from the corner of her eyes. Yui was the only one looking stoned. What? Was she acting unusual?

“Why aren’t you crying?” Rinrin looked at her with her doe eyes.

“Ummmmmmm, I did cry when you weren’t looking,” she quickly lied. Pretending she was wiping her face. She started to panic within. She needed to act like a human quickly. She glanced at the scene, memorizing the expression and dialogue. They were frowning, looking serious and lips quivering, a little bit of tears in their eyes, screaming. She saved the particular dialogue, “I would rather die than leave you again.”, in her head so she would know what to associate this with. As the protagonist hugged the saddened heroine, Yui made sure she saved that scene as well and how something related to death makes someone cry.

"It didn't look like you were crying?" Mei scrutinized her.

"You guys weren't looking." Yui insisted. Rinrin and Mei raised their brows. Their behavior caught the attention of guys as they also started to pay attention to Yui as well. Yui gulped as she put her eyes back to the screen, waiting to prove herself.

"Please, please, please bring a new scene," she muttered, as no sad scene showed up for a while. She waited for a while, praying so she could imitate everyone soon. It didn’t take twenty minutes before the next scene came. This was her moment to shine!

Tears were coming out of the corner of the protagonist eyes as he announced, “I think I’m going to die.”

There, that line related to death. Yui swallowed as she got herself ready. Tears slid down her face in a bundle, hands on her lips as she burst into a sob. She nailed it! She managed to force it out! Now everyone will know she was like them!

She looked around at the crowd. The entire row of people looked at her in confusion as more and more people looked. Rinrin looked as if she had grown another head. “Yui... why are you crying?”

Haruto and Kaito looked at her amused. Yui looked around once again. Why aren’t people crying? Did she mess up already? “Well… t-the scene kind of looked sad…”

Haruto, Kaito and Eisuke burst out laughing at the answer while Rinrin and Mei raised a brow. “Over constipation?”

Haruto and Kaito laughed even harder. Yui looked at the scene again. The protagonist was on the toilet, struggling to shit.

“It did look sad… initially.” Yui's lips frowned like a little puppy, pleading her case as her hands lay her knees, looking like she was getting scolded.

“You cried like he was going to die.” Rinrin pointed out.

“It did seem like he was going to die…” Yui’s lips whimpered.

“Now, now, let Yui go. Remember, she came from a very sheltered family. Right, Princess.” Kaito wrapped his arm around her and patted her other arm.

Thanks to Katio, she was saved. Being human was a lot more difficult than she thought. Yui walked with slumped shoulders as she followed the group aimlessly.

"Hey, do you see that over there?" Eisuke pointed a finger towards a group of students that gathered around in the streets. They were making strange movements. Yui perked up at what they were doing.

"A street battle? Ooooh! It's your time to shine Eisuke! Go break a leg! Show them all your great moves." Mei pushed him towards the dance battle, encouraging him as they both went ahead.

Yui looked as he started doing moves as well, almost as if he was competing with them. The crowd were cheering so she mustered the courage to also get at the center of attention. She got the spotlight of the random dance battle on the street, trying to be like Eisuke.

She stood still then jumped, fell on the ground. She stood up, jumping and falling right into the ground. She did it again, standing up, just to fall into the ground. The whole crowd went silent. "Umm what are you doing?"

They all looked at her once again and she raised her brows. "I'm breaking my legs."

"What?" Rinrin and Mei exclaimed, even Eisuke was confused. Kaito started to laugh out loud, knowing exactly how she got that confusion while Haruto couldn't stop the smile that grew on his face.

"Why would you do that?" Mei asked.

"You said to break a leg..." Yui frowned, once again, hands on her knees, looking like she was a puppy getting scolded.

""That's not what I meant... Oh my god." Mei held her head.

"She's really... Different. Like a princess" Haruto glanced at her becoming more and more curious about Yui as she was getting scolded by Rinrin and Mei as they were trying to teach her how to be normal. Eisuke even tried to show her how to actually dance like him. She was struggling to follow his footsteps which made the group of students more excited to show her how it's actually done.

With each passing minute, Yui was learning how to be human little by little, unknowingly
