Chapter 13:
Authors reincarnation
Macus ,the bravest coward, a guy who won't let himself be put down.
As long he is confronted by unarmed civilians.
Macusses cowardice and false bravado will lead to casualties. I was planning to let him have the death that I wrote for him but killing him will save a number of useful characters.
But do I have to kill him? Can't I just put him in my storage space until everything is over?
"What has you looking like a black pear?"
I looked up to see Raya and her unwavering small smile. Her dark green hair looked like young wines tied together which gives one a clear view of her round face. She has a black long sleeved shirt on and matching black pants with a pouch on her hip. Her brown boots are the same ones that I and many others have.
Yes, I got her design from Übel, got a problem with that?
"I find myself in situations which make me quote a book I was once forced to read."
"That's an interesting conversation starter."
"I honestly am not sure how I feel, it is like I have to throw up and am starving at the same time."
"I didn't ask, but OK."
"I see a great white house at the end of my life. A small black lady hurrying from one end of the house to the other, running her fingers gently down my face. I stand up and look at the asylum around me. Great white asylums are all that awaits me."
"What does that mean?"
"I have like no idea."
"Shouldn't you know what the meaning is of what you quote?"
"Don't use logic on me ye foul wrench."
"... you're off."
"What do you mean?"
"You seem more... pained."
"You have weird eyes, Raya."
Did I cry myself to sleep? Yeah, but that is not important.
"Why are you here anyways?"
I asked the toxic girl as I stood up.
"I was just curios what someone like you does to get stronger. You awakened your mana early."
Ambition for power. A Great attribute to have, especially as a mage, or as anyone really. I'll have to strengthen her up along with that impostor of Mallebria.
"Can I ask for some advice?"
"Can't guarantee it being good advice."
"A poor family has a child, they can not afford to feed another mouth. What should they do with the child?"
"Usually I would say that they should throw the kid on the streets and let it fend for itself. But it feels like you're in the dilemma and your child is more akin to a grown man?"
I didn't answer.
"All I am gonna say is that rat poison was designed to not be tasted in food."
"Rat poison only kills rats because rats can't gag."
"Seems like the rats fault for not learning how to gag."
......................................................................................................................................................................
I knocked on the door reaching into my bag and pulling out a tightly sealed sack.
The door creaked open and the gentle soul Tiechie stood there.
Looking up at me with her blue eyes and honey blonde hair which barely is long enough to reach below her chin. She has a surprised look on her, probably wondering what the guy who beat the shit out of her was doing at her house.
"W-W-What are you doing here?"
"Your order."
I handed her the sack which she took with a hard to describe face.
"Did you look in it?"
"No, it is a private matter."
"Oh, thanks."
"That would be two hundred mark."
"Oh. sure."
She pressed a single two hundred mark coin into my palm before closing the door on me.
I walked off not wanting to be a weirdo.
But I do know what it is. Tiechie has a rather... unique fetish. I might take advantage of that fetish to awaken sadist soul Tiechie, a more confident, assertive and sadistic alter ego. Tiechie is from nature a sadist and loves the taste of power, the only reason no one including her know of her original ego is because she has never felt power before in her life. But the sadistic soul is key to Tiechies awakening as someone has to embrace their nature for true awakening.
Awakening I stole straight out of Chinese mythology, it is just enlightenment.
I shouldn't talk so lightly about manipulating a teenage girl into abandoning all those close to her. Maybe I should let the sadistic soul come out on her own, but then Lawrence and co will do everything possible to suppress the sadistic soul.
Tiechie is in general a good companion to have, soft spoken, nice body, a useful skill and a affinity for light magic. Shame that I killed her off pretty early in the novel.
