Chapter 2:

Fable 2- the call…

Eclipse: blades of chaos

Once Alpha and Quint arrived just outside a run down and broken building which seemed to be an old abandoned church Alpha grinned as she looked at Quint with a gleeful voice “look at this I found it all by myself and want to know something cool?”

Quint responded an a monotone annoyed tone with an irritated expression “is that something cool that you dragged me here just to show off a piece of irrelevant architecture to try recruit me to your cult?…”

Alpha laughed out with a prideful smile ignoring his comment “oh Quint such a jokester but no this building has a dungeon in it!”

Quint suddenly started walking off after momentarily being stunned and saying with a dismissive tone “No no no I’m not getting involved in this shi-“

His voice fades out suddenly

To best explain these dungeons I must first introduce the beasts that dread this fable, the Soullent are a species of beast that are born from the negativity in the hearts of humans and Demi humans. They are commonly mindless beasts when they are weak but there have been cases where they have intelligence. Soullent are classified by chess pieces indicating their strength ascending from pawn to king in the order of. Pawn, Knight, Rook, Bishop, Queen and king. There has only ever been two king sightings these two have been referred to as the harbingers of the lost king.

And dungeons are a building constructed by the memories of those lost. And because of the negative emotions embedded in some of those memories it’s a breeding ground for soullent making these dungeons extremely dangerous but these dungeons also create item of pure soul memories called “Blessed Crescents” these items are valuable and good at defeating soullent which is why dungeons are actively cleared by teams.

Now back to our characters tale…

It fades back in on Alpha saying in a desperate tone “come on Quint just this one time help on the conquest please?…”she said this because she was begging to get his help on clearing the dungeon

Quint returned a disapproving glare at her desperate attempt and said with irritation “why me? Why not your team? and most importantly what made you think that I’m strong enough to clear this dungeon?”

Alpha returned his questions with a calm tone and sad smile “they all left since I was too annoying and reckless… as well as I don’t know if your strong enough but I know you’ve always had my back since you never left me alone I matter how annoying I am to you…”

Quint couldn’t help but look away with a subtle soft smile as he said with a fond tone “well… at least you’re not a total idiot I guess… fine then I’ll help but if we see a rook or higher we leave deal?”

Alpha responded with a gleeful spark in her eye as she said with an excited smile “deal you won’t regret it!”

The young cat girl and young male then entered the dungeon calmly and carefully as they both knew the dangers of the dungeon and weren’t intending to be sent to another world so easily and without a fight

When they entered the first room it was barren besides a few fragments of Blessed Crescents which they collected into a small pouch while Quint said in a quiet calm tone to Alpha “we should take this slow I don’t want to end up as a slime in my next life much less before the age of 20…”

Alpha responded in a quiet tone as well with a small nod “I understand but this dungeon should only be a knight rank because it’s a fresh soul” fresh souls are a dungeon that was found recently usually within the span of three days from generation

As the two young ones took a step into the second room the floor gave out causing them to plummet into an abyss of purple and black, while they were plummeting they sought to grab each-others hands but weren’t able to as they got separated down two separate holes in the abyss.

As soon as Quint lost sight of Alpha he cried out in worry of his friend’s safety “ALPHA!” The anxiety of his voice present throughout the echos of the abyss…

May the fable continue to unfold next time dear fantasy enthusiasts
