Chapter 10:
Veil of the Shadow Hunter
-As he meandered through the cobblestone streets, his gaze fell upon a familiar sight—a quaint little café he hadn't visited in years. A surge of nostalgia swept over him as he recalled the times he and Kenzo used to come here. His footsteps quickened as he approached, eager to relive some semblance of normalcy.
-He needed some change of pace .
-The bell above the café door chimed as Leegna entered, and the aroma of freshly brewed coffee and baked goods greeted him. The café, though unchanged in appearance, seemed to carry a comforting aura of familiarity. He took a seat at a corner table, ordering a simple coffee and a scone. As he waited, he noticed a figure at the counter, a young woman with a bright smile and lively eyes. Her presence was warm and inviting, and something about her seemed oddly familiar. The woman turned and caught his eye, her expression shifting from casual friendliness to one of surprised recognition.
"Leegna?" she asked, her voice tinged with disbelief.
-The sound of his name snapped Leegna from his thoughts. He looked up, and his heart skipped a beat as he realized who the woman was. "Stina? Is that really you?"
-Stina's eyes lit up with recognition and joy. "I can't believe it! It's been so long. I hardly recognized you at first." As they caught up, Leegna marveled at how much had changed and yet remained the same. "I remember us running around this village when we were kids. Those were simpler times."
-Stina nodded, her expression a mix of nostalgia and curiosity. "I remember it too. It was right before you moved in with Enzok. What happened? Why did you leave so suddenly?"
-Leegna sighed, his smile fading slightly. "It's a long story. After my parents died, Kenzo took me in. Life became... different. I had to focus on moving forward, and I guess I lost touch with everyone.
-Their conversation flowed effortlessly, and for a while, Leegna was able to forget his troubles, lost in the comfort of old friendship and shared memories. Stina's presence was a reminder of a time when life was simpler, and it provided him with a much-needed reprieve from his current struggles.
As they parted ways, Stina gave him a warm smile. "Let's not wait so long to catch up next time. And if you ever need someone to talk to, you know where to find me.
-As he walked away from the café, Leegna felt lighter, the weight of his recent burdens temporarily lifted by the comforting presence of his old friend.
-At his workplace ,everything was normal, work as much as usual ,everyone distracted , it was one of those days. Before the end of his shift he tried to remember some of time spent with Stina , and in the meantime he thought about his mentor , Enzok.
Leegna: '' Urgent stuff to do huh , yeah right Enzok''.
-To be continued ...
