Chapter 15:
Veil of the Shadow Hunter
The sky had darkened by the time Leegna made his way back home, his thoughts heavy with the weight of recent events. The adrenaline from his earlier confrontation with the attacker had begun to wane, leaving him with a profound sense of unease. The power of precognition had allowed him to act decisively, but the consequences of using that power were becoming increasingly apparent.
-As he turned the corner to his street, a strange chill filled the air. The familiar surroundings took on an unsettling aura, and a growing sense of foreboding gnawed at him. The feeling intensified as he approached his home, the normalcy of his environment giving way to a palpable tension.
Without warning, the atmosphere around him shifted. Shadows seemed to coil and twist, and the air grew dense with an otherworldly energy. The Time Guardians appeared before him, their forms emerging from the darkness like specters from another realm. Their presence was commanding and terrifying, a stark reminder of the celestial forces at play.
Leegna stopped dead in his tracks, his heart racing. The Time Guardians' appearance was both majestic and ominous, their eyes glowing with an eerie light. They regarded him with a mixture of disdain and authority.
"You have violated the sacred order," one of the Time Guardians intoned, their voice a deep, resonant echo that seemed to reverberate through the very fabric of reality. "You are now a time criminal, a transgressor against the balance of existence."
Leegna's breath quickened. "I didn't know—"
"The consequences of your actions are clear," another Guardian interrupted, their gaze cold and unyielding. "The manipulation of time and celestial forces is a grave offense. We cannot allow such breaches to go unpunished."
Leegna's mind raced, his confusion and fear mingling. "What are you going to do to me?"
-The third Guardian's eyes glinted with a chilling resolve. "You have been granted a final warning. Your actions have endangered the very fabric of reality. If you continue to defy the natural order, we will have no choice but to eradicate your existence. Your interference with future events has made you our enemy."
The weight of their words was crushing. Leegna felt a surge of panic. "I—I didn't mean to cause harm. I was only trying to help."
The first Guardian's gaze hardened. "Intentions do not mitigate the consequences. The balance must be preserved, and your presence now threatens that balance."
As the Guardians closed in, Leegna felt a surge of desperation. He knew he had to act quickly. His hand instinctively went to the ring his father had left him, the one he had learned contained hidden powers. He focused on the ring, hoping for a miracle.
In an instant, the ring's power activated. A shimmering barrier of light enveloped Leegna, and the Time Guardians' approach was halted. The first level of the ring's protection shielded him from their celestial presence, creating a shield that rendered him momentarily invisible to their senses.
The Guardians' forms flickered and distorted as the barrier of protection cut through their perception. Leegna seized the moment to conceal himself further. He slipped into the shadows of a nearby alleyway, his heart pounding with a mix of fear and relief. The ring's light flickered softly, casting a brief but comforting glow around him.
As the Time Guardians searched for him, their frustration evident in their tense, shifting forms, Leegna remained hidden. The power of the ring granted him a temporary refuge, its magic obscuring his presence and allowing him to evade their gaze.
The moment stretched on, the tension in the air almost tangible. With a final, resolute effort, Leegna slipped away, his movements swift and silent. The ring's protective power guided him as he made his escape, leaving no trace of his departure.
-As he emerged from the alleyway and made his way to a safer location, Leegna's thoughts raced. The encounter with the Time Guardians had revealed the high stakes of his situation. He was now a target, a time criminal whose actions had drawn the ire of powerful celestial beings.
The safety of his home seemed a distant memory, and the weight of the impending threat loomed large. Leegna knew he needed to be more cautious than ever, navigating the complex web of cosmic forces while protecting himself from those who sought his destruction.
He was too scared to use the borrowed power from Yuj , but for a brief moment he saw weird lines around the Guardians, pointing that his right eye can really see their weakness , but he remembered that he is unable to touch them ...
