Chapter 17:

The Path to the Shadows

Veil of the Shadow Hunter

Leegna stepped into the dimly lit chamber where Yuj awaited, shadows clinging to the walls. The air was thick with anticipation.

"Yuj," Leegna began, trying to keep his voice steady, "I need to find the Time Guardians. I know they're hiding somewhere in this realm. Can you help me locate their hideout?"

Yuj's eyes glowed faintly in the darkness, his expression unreadable. "Finding the Time Guardians is no simple task, Leegna. Their hideout is concealed beyond ordinary reach, shielded by layers of arcane barriers and shifting realities. Only those with the right means can breach these protections."

-Leegna's frustration was evident. "What means? I can't afford to waste time. I need to get there before it's too late."

Yuj's form began to blur and waver. "You must understand, a human's physical body cannot traverse the hidden realms of the Time Guardians. To enter, you need to materialize yourself—a process that involves projecting a part of your essence into the realm. It is a formidable challenge, not easily accomplished."

"Materialize myself?" Leegna echoed, struggling to grasp the concept. "How can I do that?"

-Yuj's voice grew distant, his figure merging with the surrounding shadows. "Seek out ancient knowledge, rituals, and artifacts. The path is treacherous, and many have tried and failed. Choose wisely, for the shadows are not forgiving."

With a final, cryptic glance, Yuj vanished into the darkness, leaving Leegna alone with his thoughts and the weight of the task ahead.

Later that night, Leegna walked through the quiet streets, the chill of the evening air settling around him. He entered a small, dimly lit store to buy a drink, hoping to clear his mind.

-As he browsed the shelves, a voice broke the silence. "Evening," said a man with an easy smile and a casual demeanor. "You look like you've had a rough day. Anything I can help you find?"

Leegna glanced at him, noting the man's friendly eyes and relaxed posture. "Just picking up a drink," he replied, trying to mask his weariness. "Had a lot on my mind."

The man, who introduced himself as Altero, seemed genuinely interested. "Rough days can be tough. Sometimes talking about it helps. I've got a feeling we were meant to cross paths tonight."

-Leegna raised an eyebrow, intrigued by Altero's casual insight. "Really? How so?"

Altero's expression grew thoughtful. "You'd be surprised how often the universe nudges people together for a reason. If you're comfortable, I'd be happy to listen. Sometimes sharing can lighten the load."

-Altero chuckled softly. "I've had my share of unusual encounters. Perhaps I could offer some insight. But beware, Leegna—sometimes the help we receive comes with its own set of challenges."

As Leegna finished his purchase, Altero's gaze lingered on him with a knowing smile. "If you need someone to guide you or just want to chat, I'm around. Paths often intertwine for a reason."

With Altero's words echoing in his mind, Leegna stepped back into the night, feeling a mix of cautious hope and unease. The evening's encounters had left him with more questions than answers, and the road ahead seemed fraught with uncertainties.

-On his way home Leegna looked at his ring , wondering if he could use it somehow to help him ,and as he thought of asking Yuj if he knew something about his ring he realized that it might go wrong in many ways and discarded the plan immediately .

Not knowing what was the right choice to make , upon arriving in his apartment he tried to relax a bit. Lying down on the bed , he slowly began to fall asleep and due to his precognitive power he foresaw new memory .

But this time the memory felt more like a distant flashback from the past rather than a future event that was going to happen. He then , waking up all sweaty ,trying to recall the dream memory he just had , was left in distress . For the scene he saw ,was not included in his life so far as he remembers ,but as if it was from some other person's perspective.

-He then recalled the importance of the letter he had hidden before , in rush went to get it and as he opened the envelope the ring started shining. But this time the ring's color was dark blue ,resembling his right .

Not able to read the letter before as the letter was written in codes and unfamiliar words- the ring was his ray of hope ,this time Leegna being able to decipher some of the words written there.

-As he was reading , some of the words gave huge meaning for the events happening to him lately and Leegna was as close as ever to getting to the truth behind his power and perhaps, the accident where his parents died.

And thus ,we dive into the past, but this time from his fathers point of view !
