Ekkinesis. The Day

“-Aren’t all stories destined for either good or bad ending? which one is it for my story? I don’t know, im scared, am i in edge of my final moment? Was I meant to turn away from this battle?”

*I pondered, just before my final breath slipped away from me*

Long before I collapsed beneath the weight of countless stars, there was a child whose heart ached to live beneath their endless glow. In the smallest town of the grandest nation, there existed a place called Valemir, where dreams flickered like distant embers, fragile and fleeting. I was born there, beneath the quiet hum of the world’s might. My parents, lost in the shadows of an early storm, left me to the winds of fate when I was but a tender soul.

I was helpless and pathetic, living for tomorrow's meal. I had no intention in life, i just thought it was better than death cause my parents would be there.

I'm tired, simple as finding one day's meal was hard. I tell myself every day not to. But it's becoming too much to bear. How come I've nothing and they have everything? I've come to thought, they wouldn't even realize something missing. So I gave it a go. Under the cover of midnight, I slipped into the very big mansion while its wealthy owners were away, hoping to find something worth taking. I couldn’t find anything, kind of disappointed, just as i was about to leave, the security got me in their sight. I knew he was leagues above me when i saw his fire magic blasting against me. Amidst the inferno of his own making, his eyes burned with an untamed fury. i saw a light, very bright light. I thought i died in the exact moment but it was a person, blocking the fire with his light. Confronting the security, shouting “So theft is a death sentence now?”. *He turned around*

-Hey, are you okay? *he had a warm smile on his face*

-Yes, i’m fine *i muttered*

-Good to hear that *he smiled while stiffening me to the ground*

-So what did you steal, i hope it was something worth the cost. *he said in a playful tone while checking my body*

-Unfortunately i couldn’t find anything *i said in regretful tone*

*after a few minutes of checking, they found nothing*

-Eh, you really got nothing. *he releases me and lets out a hand for me to stand up*

Since you stole nothing, you don’t count as a criminal right? *he smiled*

-Are you dumb? He had a thought of stealing, it counts as a criminal. *the security kid scolds him back*

-Who are you calling dumb? you fire head

*As they started fighting, their attention moved off me. it was a chance to escape their gaze, i ran as fast as i could. They noticed me in instant and chased me, one of them had light soul while other one had fire soul, they were both equal at the control. I thought i had a chance cause it was night time, i thought it would be hard for them to see me. But it was dumb thought cause he kept beaming me with light blast. I tried shooting lightning bolts at them but against that fire soul i was just impotent.*

-Woah he’s a lightning soul!

-Yeah such a waste of rare element

*they shouted before blinding me and kicking me to ground, making me fall*

-I have an idea! *he said with bright smile*

*the other one listens closely as he whispers something in his ear*

*they were both equal at power and chaotic thoughts, they invited me to join them just cause i had lightning soul. I had no other option but to consent*

-So, what’s your name?

“My name is Raegon Voltaris.” *i said in lower tone*

-Woah such a fitting name for lightning soul, My name is Xalor Zorya! *he smiles once again before shaking my hand.* *His brown eyes and long dark hair framed a warm, inviting smile.*

*As I locked eyes with the fire user, his blazing golden eye fixed on me, filled with menace. Even his hair burned a dark red, like embers. Who else could possibly embody the fire soul if not him?.

-My name is Vesper.

*he said, his voice steady, it seemed like he didn't want to say his last name. He extended a hand for me to shake. I really shouldn’t have shaken that hand, his hand was so hot, like a spark waiting to ignite. He laughed at me after heating up his hand*

*After securing the house for whole night, they brought me to their home. After my parents death, having place to stay felt like dream, it was a medium house enough for us.*

*There was another person I hadn’t known before, much younger than the three of us. I assumed he was one of their blood-related brothers. He came running to Vesper, hugging him tight*

*Zorya whispered in his ear, and I think I heard him say, “Welcome the new member.” The kid waved at me, shouting “Hello! My name is Lumis, what’s your name?”*

*Lumis smiled brightly, it was just like Zorya. It was then that I realized I had gained a new family, fulfilling the very first goal I had ever set for myself.*
