Chapter 353:

Bosnian blueberry dip

En Passant Grandmaster

Okisato opened the game by moving his knight to f3, gaining puzzled looks from Sejad and all who knew him well.

"That's odd. I don't think you ever played the Réti Opening before," Sejad scowled as he moved his pawn to d5.

"So you refer 1. Nf3 as the Réti, then. With us it's always Zukertort," Okisato stated as he moved his pawn to e4.

Now it was clear what he was trying to do.

"Well, in regards to the opening's name. I suppose it's a tomato/tomato type of deal. Many even refer to 1. g3 as the King's Fianchetto Opening instead of the Hungarian Opening. Some even refer to 1. Nc3 as the Romanian Opening," Sejad stated as he captured the pawn at e4 with his d-pawn.

"Wow, you an opening trivia master?" Okisato asked as he moved his knight to g5.

"No, I'm just a competent strategist. And for the Tennison gambit you've been attempting, did you really think such a farce would work against me!?" Sejad scoffed as he moved his queen to d5.

A sadistic smirk slowly began to form on Okisato's face. "And if I said it did work?" he taunted as he moved his pawn to d3.

"I'd say you were wrong. You're not going to ICBM my queen," Sejad huffed as he moved his pawn to e3.

"Guess we'll just have to wait and see," Okisato chuckled as he captured the pawn at e3 with his bishop.

Sejad scowled and moved his queen to e5. There was no way he was going to lose his queen like that.

"We got a declaration of war! Bonus 1000 euros from me into the pot if we get an ICBM-style queen capture!" D.R. Passant proclaimed as Okisato moved his pawn to d4.

"Ridiculous! The gambit's already been thwarted! Check!" Sejad scowled as he moved his queen to a5.

"Relax, it's from the DJ's pocket so no need to worry about your wallet," D.R. Passant grinned as Okisato moved his bishop to d2.

Sejad clicked his tongue and moved his queen to b6. He was honestly struggling to maintain his composure in this environment. Flashy disco parties with chess dunk tanks just weren't his thing, but he was braving the elements in order to try and beat Okisato. It wouldn't be easy as Okisato was in peak form, moving his bishop to c4, keeping Sejad on his feet as he moved his knight to h6.

"And here I thought I could at least replicate that part of the Tennison," Okisato taunted as he moved his knight to c3.

"Well you didn't," Sejad growled as he captured the pawn at d4 with his queen.

"I could still win your queen," Okisato smirked as he moved his queen to e2.

"Not in the way that would get you an extra 1000 euros," Sejad scoffed as he moved his knight to c6.

"Like I said before, we'll just have to see," Okisato snickered as he moved his knight to f3.

"Sejad glared and moved his queen to g4. "If that's how he wants to play, I'll deflate his ego with a queen trade," he thought.

But Okisato's maniacal grin wasn't vanishing. "Your queen is finished. The question is how? Will it be won with a simple knight capture, or will I get an extra 1000 euros? Guess it all depends on Sejad," Okisato thought as he moved his knight to b5.

Not liking what Okisato was doing with his knight, Sejad moved his queen to d7, but doing so allowed Okisato to try and go for the extra euros.

"Let's see. Just gotta calculate the line right. Sejad will need to cooperate a bit too," Okisato thought as he moved his bishop to f4, and began calculating a devious plan to win the queen.

Sejad moved his pawn to e5 in an attempt to stop Okisato's attack, to which Okisato responded to by capturing said pawn with his knight. Now came the moment of truth, and after a short think, Sejad moved his queen to e7, causing Okisato to burst into maniacal laughter.

"Ah, thanks for the extra euros. CHECK!" Okisato shouted as he captured the pawn at c7 with his knight.

"What do you mean!? Stop spewing rubbish!" Sejad scoffed as he captured the knight at c7 with his knight.

"It ain't rubbish, it's an ICBM locked and loaded! Check!" Okisato shouted as he captured the knight at c6 with his knight.

Sejad froze as shock began to overtake his face. "No... NO! You diabolical madman!" he fumed as he moved his bishop to e7.

""Diabolical" is my middle name. ICBM INCOMING!" Olosato manically laughed as he captured the queen at c7 with his bishop.

Sejad let out a sigh and sunk his hand into his head before dejectedly capturing the knight a c6 with his b-pawn.

"We got an ICBM attack on the board! 1000 extra euros if Okisato can put it all away!" D.R. Passant declared as Okisato castled queen's side.

At this point, Sejad wanted to resign, but he decided to play on and moved his king to f8.

"Check. As an apology for hitting your queen with an ICBM, you can have my rook," Okisato snickered as he moved his rook to d8.

Sejad gritted his teeth in fury as he captured the rook at d8 with his bishop. He knew what this meant.

"AND HE JUST SACRIFICED THE ROOOOOOOOOOK!" D.R. Passant shouted as Okisato moved his bishop to d7, delivering another check and forcing Sejad to move his bishop to e7.

"And one check until checkmate. How ya feeling about taking a dip in the blueberry juice?" Okisato snickered as he captured the bishop at e7 with his queen.

"AH! Damn you!" Sejad fumed as he slammed his king down on g8.

"Thanks for the euros. Seems I'm the better strategist between us. Checkmate, ba-ka!" Okisato snickered as he moved his queen to e8, winning the game.

An airhorn blasted as a trapdoor opened beneath Sejad, sending him falling into the blueberry juice with a mighty splash. As he sunk to the bottom, he suddenly felt himself getting sucked away.

Everyone watched as Sejad was sucked through the giant clear tubes before being spat out at the end of the room into a little plastic kiddie pool. Sprawled out on the ground, a now blue and sticky Sejad coughed up some blueberry juice as the airhorns blasted once more.

"SEJAD IS SOAKED! Well, Blue is one of the colors of Bosnia, so I guess you could say he got a taste of Bosnia Blueberry. Now, who's next!?" D.R. Passant grinned.

"I want to challenge him!" Ionuț fumed.

"Okisato? Sorry, but there's a cooldown rule. You can't challenge someone that just won right after they won."

"Correct, and besides, there's a line," Peter smirked as he flashed a stack of 100 dollar bills.

"PETER MORPHY'S BRINGIN' OUT DA BIG BUCKS! So who do you want to challenge!?"

"Someone I sadly can't play against normally in this tournament, Mimoko Inoue."
