Chapter 137:
The Lifeless Supermoon: A Fateful Encounter
As they were going up the stairs, Ayane looked at Kanako, who looked like he had something in his mind. Ayane smiled. "Do you want something I know?"
"Eh?! Was it that obvious?"
Ayane giggled. "You had the same exact face when you asked me about the supermoon night. So I wondered."
"The thing is... it's a little bit deep into your personal life so I don't wanna ask."
"It's fine. You can ask. I have already shared so much and am feeling a lot lighter because of you. Go on ahead."
"Are you sure though? Aren't you like, angry or annoyed at be as I am asking so many questions?"
"Nope. Not at all."
"Okay then." Kanako looked behind. They had quite a bit of a distance from Miko and Kuze, so it was going to be alright. "I want to ask, why did you even stop being a child actress? You had such a good start and could've continued with your career."
"Oh," Ayane forgot that she didn't tell him about that too. It was a bit difficult to get it out of her chest, but she released it. She figured he is close enough for it to be shared with him.
She shared her info with him and continued to walk without even looking at him. She was too ashamed to tell it to him. Kanko looked at her in awe. "I know she was going through a lot, but I have never even imagined this lot!"
Kanako had the sudden urge to embrace her, but they were in public. Kanako slid his hands in Ayane's palm. "It is a bit crowded, you can get lost." It was his way to compensate the want for embrace. Ayane looked at him, blushed and smiled. Kanako was accepting her for who she was.
"But why did your father leave your mother and started the abuse?" Kanako couldn't help but ask.
"I don't know much. But from what I heard, my... dad became like that after the death of a female colleague at work. He became an alcoholic after that incident. So it is guessed that my father had affairs with that colleague."
"I see..."
"It's pretty complicated, and difficult to understand. I know that. These stories might also make people stay away from me, so I am scared not to reveal them to anyone."
"I won't avoid you no matter what past you had. So don't worry about that when it comes to me. When you were on the bridge that day trying to end your life, I figured you had gone through a hard time. So it's natural."
"..." Ayane was at a loss for words. "Thank you..."
