Third wheeling.

They slowly went to their area with the most crowd, the school center. The food stalls lined up gave a unique aroma in the air of different foods, all mixed together. It was truly feeling like a festival. The colorful stalls and the beautifully decorated school grounds was really fun, except the overcrowded center that made if suffocating. So much so that even Kanako and Kuze felt it.

"I wanna go away from this place. It's overcrowded." Miko slipped her hand into Ayane's, "Let's hold hands so we don't get lost, okay?"

"Sure" She smiled without a worry. Kanako wished he could be as bold as Miko with her.

"I don't know why, but I am getting a feeling that 'we' are the ones who are third wheeling here." Kuze said to Kanako.

"I feel you man." Kanako tapped Kuze's shoulder in agreement as they head to the entrance to the school building.

The inside was even more crowded and suffocating, filled with balloons and decorations. The building was not open to the public yet as it needed some inspection from the student council, but they slipped Kuze in even though he was from a different school.

"The cultural festival sure is lavish in your school." Kuze looked around in awe.

"Is it though? I think its fairly normal." Miko replied.

"Good to see your guys are enthusiastic. Ours look like a graveyard."

The four of them passed through the hallways, seeing all the different things the different classes are doing. It was the ground floor, but Kanako's club was on the fifth floor, so they had to take the stairs.

"Eugh..." Miko let out a sound. Stairs is not her field of expertise. Kuze laughed at her expression.

"By the way, what is this photo exhibition of your club?" Ayane asked Kanako.

"Oh, it's nothing fancy." Kanako shrugged it off. "Its just a collection of pictures we club members took over the academic year."

"That sounds fun!"

"It kinda is. Most of the pictures you will see there are award winning prizes of senpai's who are members of the club. I don't have much award winning pictures though." Kanako scratched his head. "It is easy to complete and it has been a tradition to make a photo exhibition every year."

"You have your award winning pictures!?!" Ayane exclaimed, which scared Miko. "Why didn't you let me see them earlier!?!" She pouted.

"Like I said, those aren't big awards. So I am a bit ashamed for it."

She pouted even more. "Can you stop demoralising yourself? You are more than you think. You are amazing!"

Kanako's heart fluttered at her words. Kuze and Miko just watched those two quarrel. It was now their time to be a spectator.

"Hey Miko-chan. When did Kanako confess to her? Or is it the other way round?" Kuze asked.

"The thing is... it's none. They aren't dating yet." Miko sighed, looking depressed. "At this point, I am not even sure. They look like a couple, actually like a couple, give couple energy, yet still they are not a couple. Its kinda messed up."

"What..." Kuze couldn't wrap his head around her words. How can they not be a couple? Questions rose in his mind.
