Extra - A Police Report

On Sept 26th at 0800 hours, a deceased person was discovered in an abandoned cabin, about 10 miles southeast of [redacted]. Autopsy reports show a week had passed before it was first discovered by a park ranger making his rounds.

Cause of death was asphyxiation by carbon monoxide poisoning. A faulty furnace was discovered in bedroom. Ventilation was improperly blocked, leading to buildup.

Numerous injuries to the appendages and back were also discovered, a result of repeated hits around the same area over a course of several days. Dried blood from the throat and nasal passages were noted. Blood samples from the victim showed unnaturally high pH levels. Noticeable amounts of calcium hydroxide were ingested. Damage to the water filtration system shows high levels of lime passing into the water.

Evidence of mental disorder was noted by the officer on duty.

Victim was noted to show increasingly bizarre behavior by locals. Medical records show victim has chronic memory loss, easily forgetting day-to-day events. A missings person report was filed in early August, further indicating the victim’s disability.

To conclude, the victim’s passing is likely due to self-inflicted harm and lack of proper guidance. Poisoning over the course of weeks led to a degradation of mental and physical health. Damage to residence is attributed to worsening dementia.
