Chapter 0:
Meltdown
worlds gone wrong.
“Warning, warning. Please evacuate collider grounds. Warning, T-10 minutes to full meltdown. All personnel this is not a drill, evacuate… evacuate… evacuate eva…” deafening Sirens blared across the facility, lighting the white halls a deep crimson. as earthquakes ripped through the tight halls of the facility turning the little cracks in the wall into giant rifts. The researchers scrambled through the torn hallways and collapsed rooms to find their key cards and run.
“What have we done?!” a running researcher exclaimed.
“When did this happen? Project Babel went critical. We had everything calculated down to the last decimal. Who let something like this happen.” another scientist said while rummaging around for his belongings. He seemed to be looking for something important.
“T-5 minutes until complete meltdown. Please evacuate.” The alarm sounded again its voice starting to glitch out. “please eva— Run rabbit run rabbit run run— Evacuate immediately.”
“Is that a song?! Al was right, he told us not to do this. He was right look around us we’ve brought on the extinction of mankind. The whole universe is collapsing. Stop looking for your family photos and run, it isn’t the time to be sentimental.” The scientist began sweating. his breaths got short.
“I don’t have time to care if Al was right or wrong the whole facility is about to collapse.” the other scientist shouted, giving up on his search.
“T-3 mi— Don’t Give the— Evacu— His fun, fun, fun— Run, run, run…” The alarm faded into static.
The scientists burst onto the surface. For a fleeting moment, there was silence. Then, one of them looked up towards the sky. He collapsed on top of the charred ground, a silent scream etched on his face. The alarm had stopped, yes, but it was replaced by a sound that could only be described as the sky itself tearing apart. To call it deafening would be an understatement. The sky’s colors churned wildly, finally settling into a deep purple and blood red. The earthquakes had changed too; now, shock waves propagated through the air itself. People could feel the crushing weight on their lungs and hear the creaking of their own bones bending under the pressure. And yet, despite it all, there was still static in the air, clinging, hungry, grabbing everything it could with unseen arms. Everyone in the universe could feel it. It was as if the worst was yet to come. Universes had merged becoming a patchwork mess. Urban Cities now had medieval taverns, and amethyst forests interweaved with neon-lit towns. A sky city suspended over corn fields. It wasn’t just places either. Witches, Wizards, Cyborgs, Androids, Elves, Dwarves, and every kind of beast or creature imaginable.
