Chapter 142:

Panicked.

The Lifeless Supermoon: A Fateful Encounter

"I got late..." Kanako said as he was running through the walkway, noticing Ayane's house within his view. "Good thing I know her place. It's pathetic that I couldn't come on time though... I am making her wait..."

Meanwhile Ayane went and cleaned the 'mess' puddle she created, hoping to go upstairs and cave herself in. She had forgotten that Kanako was about to come. The trauma made her brain stop.

"What did I do to even deserve it..." Ayane mumbled. She couldn't do anything as Sakiko has blackmailing material. "Every time I feel like I am recovering, every time I feel like life is changing, she just comes and resets it to zero..." She bit her lips in agony. She wanted to rip off her hair follicles, hoping her physical pain would wipe away her mental trauma. She was frustrated that everything is going back to zero, and she cant do anything...

"Why..." she sobbed. "Why... why does she have an eye on him... why... why is she taking the only thing..." her heart ached as tears rolled down her eyes. She froze. What was she going to say? But that didn't matter, because she needs her healer. "I am such an idiot... relying on him for my things... when will I learn to stand on my own two feet?" Her legs numbed from underneath.

As she was going upstairs, the bell rang again. "Who is this?" Her voice hand zero enthusiasm as she went to the front door wiping her tears.

"Sorry I am late!!" Kanako's face shined in front of her. She took a step towards him in the blink of the moment, startling Kanako a bit.

"Oh right... I can't interact with him anymore... otherwise it will be worse than what I am going through right now..." her heard ached again. It wanted his warmth, but her mind stopped her.

"Ayane-chan...?! What happened??!" Kanako panicked.

Ayane looked at her own hands as she saw her vision getting blurry. "Oh..." she had started crying again.

"Nothing happened..." she smiled with tears falling off her chin like waterfall.

"That cant be true!!" Kanako took a step closer to hold her weeping face.

Ayane pushed Kanako with her blurry hands. "Yeah... this is... for the greater good..." she sobbed harder as she pushed her outside."

"Ayane-chan... what happened?" Kanako's face looked betrayed, adding to Ayane's pain.

"I am not feeling okay?" Kanako tried to take a step at her again.

"Just leave me alone!!" Ayane shouted with pain in her voice, to which Kanako backed up again. "Kanako-kun... when a girl says she is not feeling okay... you should just leave them alone... you know that right...?"

But her heart says otherwise, and so does Kanako's. Because Kanako's heart could feel that Ayane was in pain. That uncontrollable tears are not for show.

"I am sorry." Kanako looked down, saddened.

"Thank you... maybe next time... I will show you the movies I acted in... sorry for today..." She closed the entrance door.

She sat at the door, sobbing as she heard Kanako's footsteps getting further and further away from her. Will the next time ever come?

"Good job, my dear Ayane-chan." Sakiko grinned as she looked over from a distance.
