Prologue

"Is this really a dream?".

The words echoed in Leon's mind.

Although the ground felt firm beneath him, his body felt almost weightless.

While he has not smelt it before, it gives him a feeling of familiarity.

Slowly, he opened his eyes. The towering of golden trees shone under a violet sky. The world pulsed with an energy he couldn’t explain.

It was beautiful, the colors far too vivid and real to be a dream.

Then, he saw her. A girl was under one of the golden trees. Her silver hair and deep eyes said something, but they were not talking.

He had never seen her before. Still, the way she looked at him sent a strange feeling down his chest.

“Leon,” she whispered.

His breath hitched. “How do you know my name?”.

She smiled.

A sharp ache bloomed in Leon's heart. He did not know her, but something in him said that he should.

Was she real? Was this world real? Or was this just a dream… a dream he had long forgotten?

"Is this really a dream?"

The words lingered in Noel’s mind.

The moment she opened her eyes, she knew. She had seen this somewhere before.

Towering buildings of steel and glass loomed over her. The air smelled strange like fire, metal, something artificial.

All that Noel heard was a jumble of voices rushing by in the city.

Her chest tightened. This wasn’t her world. Yet, she felt familiar.

Then…amidst the crowd, her eyes found him.

A boy stood a few feet away, staring at her. Although she couldn’t read his expression, she could read his eyes. And those eyes, made her heart tremble.

He breathed, “Noel…”.

She took a shaky step forward. “You… know me?”.

His lips parted, but no words came. But why?
