The Old World

A long time ago, the gods gave humanity a box that unleashed horrors upon the world. Thousands of years later, humanity is on the decline. When there seems to be no hope, a scientist by the name of Melon Usk discovered and reversed-engineered the box, but he realized that the calamities have grown too large, so he decided to use the box as a vacuum and portal to create another dimension. After that, he closed the portal, and he decided to set it so that the dimension would self destruct in a year. 

Amongst those that were sent to the other dimension, there were people afflicted with the evils but had good as well.
