Chapter 107:
Devil hunting chronicles of the impossible city.
The raid was coming to an end now, there was still gunfire as the hunters faced the multiple police squads but here at the marketplace place there were no souls left, its ceiling had collapsed as well as the many stores crushed under debris, but there was the hunter knows as Aya sacrificed herself to stop a devil something stirred. The debrief on the collapsed room flew as tentacles rose from the ground wildly, slowly the monster that was once Deputy Eva stood up, her chest completely tainted in black blood, it slowly walked forward to the side of Aya's corpse till it stopped when light of the sun coming from the broken ceiling touched the tentacles growing from their head, they stirred as if they had been stung.
"Home...Im so tired I just want to go home." Its tentacles ceased to fear the light and now tried to reach towards the hole in the ceiling. Evas back twisted as pair of long bat-like wings grew out of her back, she remained hunched over till the wings began to flap and she flew at great speed out of the labyrinth and to the blue sky outside, there she saw the city of Argia in the distance and flew there if only by instinct.
"Home...I need to rest, to rest at home...so tired" As she mumbled the creature flew into the city without being seen leaving the labyrinth and the hunters behind.

"Now, to hunt demons if that is your dream i such a pointless one!" Chief Rodgers flashed the light on her staff onwards as Abram and Collins each ran to a different side of the room, from their shadows tentacles raised to try and grab them but they both moved fast enough to evade them.
"Even if you survive here, all it will mean is that the city crush you with the devil corps!" Abram ran towards the lightbulbs hanging on the walls and broke them with his dagger, tentacles were growing around the shadow projected by his hand and quickly pierced his open palm, but he ignored the pain and ran to destroy the next light source.
"It is a mercy that I will be the one to end your dreams here, you can't even imagine the real horrors of the city!" Rush was running to the other wall and the tentacles grabbed him by his iron-covered arm, but he just pushed forward with enough strength to make them snap and immediately punched another lightbulb in the room, from both sides the room fell into complete darkness, with no light but no shadows either.
As the last light broke a dense mist grew through the room crashing against the police chief, The darkness and density made her lose track of the two of them but she didn't seem concerned.
"Doesn't matter there is no hiding from Hatur, its many eyes will notice any movement no matter what." She remained standing closing her eyes as she illuminated the room once more, even if they were but shadows in the mist the many floating eyes around them noticed them. Abraham smirked from her haise but three orbs crashed together making a shield that blocked his dagger and its tentacles started to claw through his arm at the same time Rush was tackling her from the front with his shield, but the shadow under her stretched grabbing him by his feet enough to slow him down, she stopped his charge with her staff and quickly hit him in the stomach and then swung it behind her crashing it against Abrams's face.
"Enough it was fun, but I will execute you both right now!" She turned the light and the shadows below the three of them stirred They each raised from the ground, in the shape of massive orbs with hundreds of eyes opening within the shades. massive tentacles grew from all three, they reached for Abrams and Collins's necks and immediately started to strangle them with a colossal force, the third eye simply floated above its owner with its tentacles spreading around her to shield her.
"I will just have your shadows snap your necks." The shadows raised Abram from the ground, he let go of his dagger to try to free himself, but the tentacles were incredibly resilient, he was raised in front of the massive eye that stared him down, But below him, the bride reappeared from the mist, she was still missing an arm too damaged to reform completely but with her remaining arm it slices the eye making the shadow drop Abram. He was out of breath but he still grabbed his dagger and ran, the bride was pierced by dozens of tentacles breaking apart once more, but it shielded Abram, Chief Rodgers saw him and swung her staff, but he dodged it and ran past her towards Collins.
He swung his dagger to free him from the tentacles but just as he did, he was pierced. From behind, a tentacle went through completely from his stomach as it did the mist disappeared completely around them, Collins broke free and saw him with fright on his face.
"I'll give you an opening...just end this..."Abram mumbled as he stabbed the tentacle coming out of his stomach till it retreated and he immediately turned back to run towards Rodgers even if his body was turning heavier by the second. Abram could barely see but she knew the shadows we all setting their eyes upon him, Collins screamed as he punched the floating shadow in front of him with his shield straight in the eye making it split like a ballon. The old woman didn't show any fear even in that darkness as she prepared to turn on her light again, the shadow behind him stared down at Abram with its tentacles getting between him and her, like a cage of iron coming down. The long tentacles pierced him from above and as they did Abram threw his dagger straight into the shadow's eye, That seemed to be their only weak spot and as expected it broke apart, but Abram felt down bleeding and losing consciousness.
"Argg useless." The chief activated her staff, but when Abram feel she saw Collins reaching her right behind him, his shield opened its maw and bit the top of the staff completely, so no light could illuminate the room and then he punched her straight in the gut throwing her in the air as she let go of her staff. Collin groaned as he ran forward but the eye of the remaining shade appeared before him, he screamed as its tentacles aimed to pierce him, but he swung his shield breaking through it even if blood began to fall all over his body...he could barely stand but he walked forwards towards his opponent falling on his knee on the weight of his shield.
"Ahh...you got close but it seems even now, you still can't reach me, kid." The lack of blood was severe for Collins more than any other devil, he tried to release the spikes on its shield to try to feed on her blood but he couldn't move his arm enough to move so the spikes simply were sent to his back.
"I won't let it be in vain, not now that I finally reached you... the center city will be free..."
"Haha no it will not, The people above me will not allow it, you all just delaying the inevitable but that ends now." Rodger was standing up again that was a powerful blow but even though she was still a demon she could bear any blunt strike as long as it was not legal, she had no shadow so instead she pulled out a handgun from her coat.
"I'll finish it the old way...I must say I am impressed you are the kind of man that could make it big it's so sad, we couldn't truly work together a waste really, just a waste." Collins was feeling cold as if he was about to pass out but then...he felt his strength slowly return, he couldn't wait for a second, he charged as he stood up with his shield straight at her, she shot her gun but he hit her before that throwing her down to the floor, he slowly realised his shield as he stared down at he bloodied face.
"It was a nice dream...I was so close too, do it boy if you hesitate you die!" She pulled the gun and he crashed his massive shield to his head, it was a close one and he fell to his knees as soon as they was done, but he couldn't pass out not yet... he turned around and noticed that one of his spikes was feeding him blood through the tube, he followed with its eye and saw it Abram was passed out with his one of his spikes forcefully inserted into his arm, he had given him his blood in purpose.
"Damn, it you fool dont you dare die now!" He grabbed him in his arm and walked forward into the dark leaving his shield abandoned buy by them, The laberythn had gone quiet and not one soul remained fighting.
