Chapter 4:
Harpy x Harpie: Switcharoo
"Gwak hawk mawk?" (You suddenly fell, Eileen. Are you okay?)
"Maw hawk, gawk gawk?" (Yeah, and what's with that look on your face?)
I didn't understand a single thing and felt like I needed to flee.
In front of me, there were three Harpies. Each of them had a unique look, and it was hard to look away from them.
One has brown fur with blue and yellow motives on her wings. She wore a metal breastplate about the size of a D-cup and some red fabric surrounding her hips. When she approached me, her hair was also majestic and fragrant. Her legs are strong and look like chicken legs with sharp claws. She is beautiful.
"Wee wak gwak!" (Hey, Eileen, stop staring at Yeena! Answer us!)
"Wreec rack wak." (It's okay, Jay. She just fell after all.)
That other one who just shouted at me looks more mature and tough. She also had brown fur but had red and orange motives on her wings. Somehow, this one was also more elegant than the one near me. She wore a metal breastplate about the size of an E-cup and yellow with white strip fabric around her hips. She had the same legs as the others.
"Gwak hawk. Mahwak rack wak?" (It's almost midnight; we need to keep going. How is Eileen doing?)
"Wreee muck." (I don't understand what happened to her, and she isn't responding.)
The last one on the far end looks bigger and mature than the other two, almost like she's elderly. She had white fur with no motives on her wings. She wore a metal breastplate about the size of a G-Cup. Like, god dang, she had huge breasts. The fabric that she used looked golden and shiny, and it wrapped around her hips and neck. She also had chicken legs with sharp claws.
They were all so beautiful and majestic, but the thing that caught my attention was that these harpies' heads looked just like humans', specifically female heads. It was super creepy to see.
"Meek hawk. Wree gwak muck." (We must move on now or else we are screwed by the demi-humans)
"Creek weee, gwak muck hawk." (But Miss Holland, Eileen won't budge. Feels like something is wrong with her.)
I should just speak. I literally couldn't understand a single word that they were saying.
"Ehh, excuse me. Sorry to interrupt, but where are we? I didn't understand your...."
Suddenly, the three harpies' fur were standing up and steady at their feet.
"... word. Did I mess up?"
I saw the elderly one turn around and stare at me with intense eyes, and I shivered when she actually spoke human language.
"Eileen, when did you learn human language? How could you gain that ability?"
With hands up, I said, "Waii, hold on, who's Eileen? I..."
And that's when I realized that I had white wings.
"Whaa... What am I?"
Surprised to learn that I had wings, I tried steadily to stand up and looked at the reflection on the water below me.
I was shocked to see a woman's head with the body of an eagle staring back at me. That was my reflection, right? The white furs, B-size cup breastplate harpy with gold fabric around my hips, is me?
"Eileen, answer me, young lady!"
"Wow, wait. I'm not Eileen. I'm sorry, ma'am. But I can explain how this is happen. You just have to trust me, please."
She looked at me, understandably very angry, but she quickly calmed down and talked to the other harpies.
"Yeeek meek, hawk. Raw gawk." (Joen, Yeena, you may go home now. I have to speak to "Eileen" now.)
"Cree haw..." (But how about the...)
"Kree caw waak." (We have to delay it right now. This is more important.)
After a bit of conversation that I had no idea what it was about, the two went flying and left the elderly harpy and me here alone.
"Can you fly?"
"I... I can try?"
"Wait, actually before that! What's your name? You said you were not my daughter. Then who are you?"
I'm the what? Is she this body's mother? Hell, no way.
"I'm... My name is Harpie. Harpie Holland."
"Harpy? With Y?"
"No, with 'I' and 'e'."
"That's an odd name because that's our species name. Your parents must not have liked you."
"They said I got that name because I was born with hair already growing on my chest."
She was looking at me weird, but she continued to chat anyway.
"Enough of that now. We need to move now. Hop on my back."
I was blushing from that request, but she was looking at me intensely and seriously.
"Okay, then. Excuse my rudeness."
After I climbed up onto her back, she immediately took off.
"Woooow, why you fly without warning?"
"You know how mama birds teach their kids how to fly, right?"
"Wait, did you mean you..."
She threw me off from her back.
"Waaaaaa, not again!"
But before hitting the ground, she caught me with her speed, and I safely landed on top of her.
"You're lucky real humans are not roaming around in midnights. They'll probably shoot us right about now."
When she said that, my head filled with questions.
"Sorry, miss. I was thinking about this. Weren't you mad at me before that I took over your daughter's body?"
She hesitated to answer but answered anyway.
"I was, but how could I be angry and hit you when you're in my daughter's body? We'll be having words after this training session."
"Ehh? Training sess..."
She threw me again.
After a little bit more time, I finally got a grip on how to fly.
"Wow, it's not that bad. I feel like I can travel around the world."
Then I heard a very intense voice from the elder harpy that gave me a shiver.
"Don't you dare use my daughter's body to fly outside this island."
"Uwaa, it's just metamorph. I didn't mean it literally."
It felt like minutes, but it actually been hours since I started learning how to fly. The elder harpy and I were exchanging words to get to know each other before explaining what had happened to me and her daughter. To start off, her name was Deena Hawkeen, She is one of the most respected harpies on the island. She was about to do a ceremony for her daughter's 200th birthday, but apparently, she ran off, and that was when our switch happened.
"Okay, we are here."
We arrived at what looked to be a giant tree that had a door at its root and many big windows on the side of the tree.
"We're on the 40th floor, and our room is 401. Try to take off and fly straight up."
I looked straight up and launched myself into the air.
"Ah, there it is. Okay, steady does it."
I flapped my wings slowly to land myself on the window that said 401.
"Great, you finally understand how to use your wings. I'm impressed."
"Thanks."
Then, after she had praised me, she sat down and looked at me with a serious face.
"Now. Tell me in detail, five W and one h of you and my daughter exchange body."
Geez, she even knows the 5W1H. How the heck did she learn that?
