Chapter 16:
Authors reincarnation
We sat down in a corner to rest, swinging a hammer over and over goes pretty hard on your arms.
"What are you eating?"
"Mudfish."
"That's a dam prawnfish."
"It's a crawnfish."
"That's what I said."
"You said prawnfish."
"Nuh uh."
"Ugh, I'm not gonna have this talk with you."
"Why did you attack Macus?"
The question itself didn't bother me, what bothered me is how casual she is over someones death.
"Why did you?"
"He was a pain in the ass."
"Would you believe me if I told you that I'm part of a secret military organisation from the moon kingdom out to overthrow this government and to slay all the royal family?"
"Of course I wouldn't."
"Yeah, I was bullshiting anyways. He just seemed like a rotten egg waiting to crack at the wrongest time."
"Right."
I threw the crawns shell on the ground and took another one out of my bag.
"It feels weird. I don't think I ever attacked someone before. But Now after beating Macus I feel... good. I shouldn't feel good, I know that I should not feel good because I got to beat someone. But I do feel good."
"We shouldn't feel anything yet we do. You have to stop thinking what is right or wrong, there is simply good and not good."
"What is the difference?"
"Good always changes from person to person. It is good for a thief to steal, but it is wrong."
"So just be selfish?"
"You have to know how much selfish is too much selfish."

The chances of us coming across the spider boss is... I don't know the exact percentage. The smartest thing to do would be to take out the single strays so we should be lower on the priority chart.
I'm not to too afraid since I'm pretty sure that if she doesn't instantly kill me that I can escape. And I'm carrying Tiechie on my back so she is more likely to get hit first anyway.
A spider flew past me and went splat on the wall, it wasn't exactly a splat, more like a crunch.
I looked over from where the spider came flying and saw Vraire there holding a spear which he used like a golf bat to punt the spiders away.
"Oh hey, is that a girl on your back?"
"I have a name."
"That is?"
"Tiechie."
"Weren't you the one that got egged?"
"Of course you remember me like that."
"I think almost everyone remembers you as the egged girl."
"And didn't you beat her?"
"Yeah, so?"
"..."
"..."
"..."
"Are you like, into that kind of stuff?"
"Of course not you wood head!"
"Spider!"
We got to see in action what it looks like when a spider gets punted away like a golf ball and here a faint crack as it hit the wall.
Vraire, the spearhead.
He can not be frightened for he does not think. Vraire is the best kind of stupid since he does not think that intelligence holds any importance to how good he is at spearing people, and he is right. He lacks book smarts but is well versed otherwise and he is easy to work with. In other words, he is a ride or die who does not believe in flesh wounds.
"So like, should we continue together or?"
"Yeah sure."
"Why don't you give him any shit for his footsteps?"
"He can actually tell when something is approaching."
We just walked together in awkward silence, punting away spiders from time to time.
"So like, nice weather, huh?"
"We are in a cave."
"Yeah? So?"
"..."
"Heh, yeah, we have nice weather."
"You smell that?"
The hot spring.
It is one of the reasons why people dive dungeons without being hired.
Tell me, if you could become powerful enough that you are basically a God. Would you risk your life for such power?
Of course you would. Why did I even bother asking?
The body naturally absorbs mana from the surrounding area it is why mana dry zones feel so eery to the people of this world, the best comparison I have is standing in sun light without feeling any warmth or it blinding you.
This dungeon was originally a salt mine after the majority of the white gold was extracted the miners left behind the water they used. A tectonic shift caused a mana rich magma vein to flow closer to the surface and heat up the water while also creating a mana well.
"Do you guys think we can take a dip?"
Usually a good idea, but.
I kicked a rock and watched as it got caught in an invisible web above the water.
"Let's just keep walking."

Once this is over I gotta drop a pouch in here so that I can relax in the hot springs whenever I want.
Hair that is a light tone of violet, it was almost platin. A body so sleek it looked almost sharp, four arms folded over each other absentmindedly. Skin so pale not even a corpse would look alive next to it, only a creature who has never seen light has such skin. The body of a spider below the waist and the body of a woman above the waist adorned by plates of chitin.
The typical fantasy Arachnid.
Wait, no, it wasn't like this, this wasn't meant to be, she is only meant to be intelligent, not humanoid!
The story strays again.
