Chapter 5:
I'M DUKE DAUGHTER BUT I GOT LOST ON OTHERWORLD
MORNING
A bright Saturday morning radiated positive energy. The sun shone brilliantly in the sky, sending its warm rays across the city. The fresh morning air greeted everything, making it the perfect time for a morning run.
RING RING RING
A loud alarm rang, signaling that someone needed to wake up.
After a few moments, the person in bed stirred and switched off the alarm.
"Ughh, what time is it…" Hasegawa Ren muttered as he reached for his phone.
He still felt groggy, but the sunlight streaming through the window and the chime of his alarm told him it was time to get up. He dragged himself out of bed, feeling along the wall until he found the light switch, finally managing to turn it on.
With heavy steps, Ren headed to the bathroom, splashing cold water on his face to shake off the drowsiness. He inhaled deeply, letting the fresh morning air awaken his senses.
After freshening up, Ren walked over to his wardrobe, picking out comfortable clothes for his run. He slipped on a sports t-shirt and a pair of shorts, then laced up his favourite running shoes.
"Time to get some exercise," Ren murmured to himself, glancing at his reflection in the mirror. He flashed a small smile before stepping out of his room.
As he made his way to the front door, he was greeted by a housemaid who was already preparing breakfast.
"Good morning, Ren-sama," the maid greeted him politely, her expression filled with respect.
Ren returned the smile warmly. "Good morning to you too, Murasaki-san," he replied, appreciating her dedication.
Murasaki had been one of the loyal household staff serving the Hasegawa family for years, always ensuring the best service.
"What would you like for breakfast today, Ren-sama?" Murasaki-san asked gently.
Ren pondered for a moment, considering what would make a good meal to start the day. Finally, he decided on an omelette with toast and a cup of warm coffee.
"I'll have an omelette and toast, along with a cup of coffee, please. Thank you, Murasaki-san," Ren said kindly.
Murasaki nodded, taking note of his request before heading to the kitchen.
"Alright, I’ll be out for a quick run. And don’t forget to wake Angelica-san too," Ren said as he walked towards the main door.
"Understood, Ren-sama," Murasaki replied with a smile.
Ren stepped outside, inhaling the crisp morning air. A sense of energy and motivation filled him as he prepared for his workout.
"HUFT HAAH~" he exhaled deeply, relishing the fresh air. He knew that his morning routine would keep him in peak condition for the day ahead.
"Alright, let's do some stretching before we start running," Ren thought as he made his way to a nearby park.
At the park, he performed a few simple stretches to loosen up his muscles. He could feel his body becoming more flexible and ready to move.
Once warmed up, Ren set off on his run with steady strides. He relished the morning breeze brushing against his face as he passed by lush greenery and towering buildings.
Time passed quickly as he continued running through the city. He could feel sweat trickling down his body, but it only motivated him to push forward. His steady pace led him through bustling streets, past towering buildings and serene parks.
Eventually, Ren reached his destination—a temple perched on a hill. From there, he had a breathtaking view of the cityscape.
He slowed to a stop, catching his breath as he admired the scenery. The crisp hilltop air filled him with satisfaction and tranquility.
"So refreshing," he thought with a smile. His energy was replenished, and his enthusiasm for the day ahead grew even stronger.
Ren walked towards the edge of the hill, gazing down at the stunning city view. The streets below were alive with activity, surrounded by towering structures.
"Ah, what a beautiful view. I should take a picture and upload it to Minsta," Ren mused, pulling out his phone.
He aimed the camera at the stunning sight before him, capturing a few shots to share later. He enjoyed sharing the city's beauty with his friends and followers.
Just as he finished, he took a moment to soak in the scenery one last time, feeling grateful for the peaceful moment after his morning workout.
"Time to head back home," he thought, satisfied. His energy and motivation had been fully restored.
"Hue hue hue, Mama!! Hue hue hue," a child’s desperate cries echoed nearby.
"Uh, are you alright?" Ren asked gently, crouching down in front of the sobbing child.
But his words were in vain—the child continued crying. Ren felt a pang of sympathy seeing the lost and distressed child.
"Uhh, where’s your mum, little one?" Ren tried again, hoping to help.
Still, there was no response. Ren scanned his surroundings, searching for any sign of the child's parents. But there was no one nearby.
As he pondered, his eyes landed on a vending machine not too far away. It was stocked with various sweets and cold drinks.
"Maybe some sweets and a drink will cheer them up," he thought.
Without hesitation, Ren walked over and selected a few treats that looked appealing. He also grabbed a bottle of cold juice.
Returning to the child, he offered the goodies with a kind smile.
"Here, this is for you. So, what’s your name?" Ren asked gently.
The child looked up at him, eyes still teary. But upon seeing the treats, a small smile finally broke through.
"Thank you, Onii-chan. My name is Miu," the child said softly, accepting the sweets and juice.
Relieved, Ren smiled back. "Alright, Miu-chan, why are you out here alone?"
"Uhmm… Miu got separated from Mama," Miu admitted, her sadness returning.
"Ah, I see. Alright, Onii-chan will help you find your mum," Ren declared with determination.
"Really? Onii-chan will help Miu?" Miu’s eyes lit up with hope.
"Of course! I won’t leave Miu-chan alone. Let’s find your mum together," Ren reassured her with a warm smile.
Miu beamed with relief, grateful she wasn’t alone anymore.
Ren gently lifted Miu in his arms, carrying her as they wandered the streets, searching for any sign of her mother.
"Maybe your mum is looking for you too, so let’s stay calm and keep searching carefully," Ren said reassuringly.
Miu nodded, her face brightening slightly at his encouraging words.
They asked passersby and checked different areas of the city, hoping to find Miu’s mother.
After some time, they finally received word from a local that a woman had been frantically searching for her child nearby.
"That must be Miu-chan’s mum! Let’s hurry over there!" Ren said enthusiastically.
Miu grinned excitedly, relieved that they were close to finding her.
They rushed to the location, and sure enough, they spotted a woman anxiously scanning the area.
"Mum!" Miu called out joyfully.
The woman turned instantly, her face flooding with relief upon seeing Miu with Ren.
"Miu! Oh, thank goodness you’re safe!" she cried, pulling her daughter into a tight embrace.
Ren smiled, feeling content knowing he had reunited them.
After expressing her heartfelt gratitude, Miu’s mother left with her child, while Ren watched them go with satisfaction.
Checking his phone, he realised he had been out longer than expected.
"Ah, it’s this late already. I should head back home," he thought, picking up his pace.
Upon reaching home, the delicious aroma of breakfast greeted him.
"Welcome back, Ren-sama," a maid greeted politely.
"Thanks. Is breakfast ready?" he asked as he removed his shoes.
"Yes, Ren-sama. Please proceed to the dining room."
Ren followed her inside, eager to enjoy his well-deserved meal.
