Chapter 6:
I'M DUKE DAUGHTER BUT I GOT LOST ON OTHERWORLD
❈ POV ANGELICA ❈
A bright morning warmly welcomed Angelica. The cheerful chirping of birds broke the morning silence, bringing a sense of peace and freshness. Slowly, Angelica opened her eyes, greeted by the gentle sunlight streaming through the window, illuminating her room.
CHIRP CHIRP CHIRP
The birds’ lively chirping filled the air as if inviting her to wake up and embrace the day with renewed energy. A refreshing breeze flowed through the open window, dispelling the last traces of sleep from her body.
With a lazy yet comfortable stretch, Angelica stretched out on her bed, enjoying the morning’s freshness. She closed her eyes for a moment, savouring the tranquillity that the morning had to offer.
However, it wasn’t long before she heard a knock at her door.
KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK
“Angelica-sama, are you awake?” a maid’s gentle voice called.
Angelica took a deep breath before responding, “Yes, I’m awake. Thank you, I’ll be out soon.”
With light steps, she walked to the door and opened it. Standing before her was a maid with a warm smile and a kind expression.
“Good morning, Angelica-sama,” the maid greeted with a slight bow.
“Good morning, Murasaki-san,” Angelica replied politely.
Murasaki smiled knowingly. “Would you like me to prepare breakfast for you, Angelica-sama?”
“Yes, please. Ah, has Ren-san woken up yet?” Angelica asked curiously.
The maid looked at Angelica in slight surprise before smiling gently again.
“Ren-sama is out jogging in the garden,” Murasaki informed her.
“Ah, I see,” Angelica said with a small smile. “Thank you for letting me know, Murasaki-san.”
Murasaki nodded softly. “It’s no trouble at all, Angelica-sama. Now, I’ll get started on your breakfast. Please wait a moment.”
“In that case, I’ll take a bath first before breakfast,” Angelica said, turning her attention to her morning routine.
“Understood. In that case, I’ll call a few maids to style your hair, Angelica-sama,” Murasaki offered kindly.
“There’s no need. I can do it myself,” Angelica declined firmly, feeling that such a small task wasn’t worth troubling others for. Although she was a noble’s daughter, she disliked unnecessary fuss.
Murasaki simply chuckled. “Ufufu, it’s alright. We’ll surprise Ren-sama when he returns later,” she said playfully.
Angelica, slightly confused by Murasaki’s words, could only give her a puzzled look. She had no idea what Murasaki and the other maids were planning, but she chose to trust them.
“Uhh… alright then, I’ll accept it,” she relented.
After her brief conversation with Murasaki, Angelica followed her maid out of the room and towards the bathroom. Stepping inside, she welcomed the cool air, ready to freshen up before breakfast.
Feeling a little fatigued from her night’s sleep, Angelica let the warm water cascade over her body, enjoying the soothing sensation. The gentle stream of water washed over her skin, melting away the remnants of exhaustion.
Once she had cleansed herself, she decided to soak in the bath for a moment. As she lay in the warm water, her mind drifted. Thoughts of her siblings in another world surfaced—were they worried about her? Were they searching for her? And was His Highness, the Crown Prince, looking for her as well?
Yet, the moment she thought of His Highness, a strange discomfort settled in her chest. Her heart ached, and an unexplained shiver ran down her spine.
"Ugh… What is this feeling? Why…" she murmured in confusion, trying to make sense of the emotions washing over her.
A dull throbbing spread through her head, making her feel dizzy. She tried to recall the moments before she arrived in this world, but her memories were blurred and hazy.
“My head hurts… Is this some side effect of that forced teleportation?” she muttered, massaging her temples in an attempt to ease the pain.
Angelica took a deep breath, trying to calm herself. However, no matter how hard she tried, the discomfort refused to fade.
After a while, she finally decided to leave the bath and dry herself off. Just then, a maid preparing her clothes spoke up with concern.
“Angelica-sama, are you alright?”
Angelica offered a small smile, masking her unease. “Ah, I’m fine… I just got a little dizzy from staying in the bath too long. Ahaha,” she replied lightly, not wanting to worry them.
Even as she put on a composed front, deep inside, her mind was tangled with questions. What really happened before she arrived on Earth? And why was she here?
Her thoughts swirled, seeking answers that continued to elude her. The more she tried to remember, the more distant and fragmented her memories became.
At the same time, she couldn’t shake off the worry for her family in the other world. Were they doing alright?
Lost in her thoughts, Angelica felt a creeping sense of isolation. She didn’t know what she was supposed to do next or where she should go from here.
Even so, she resolved to remain calm and composed. She couldn’t let her fear consume her.
“Kyaa~~ Angelica-sama, you look absolutely stunning!!” one of the maids suddenly squealed in excitement.
"Yes, yes, I agree! Angelica-sama looks like a foreign model!" another chimed in enthusiastically.
Angelica blinked in mild surprise, momentarily taken aback by their reactions. She had been lost in thought all this time, her mind wandering aimlessly.
“Look at this, Angelica-sama!” A maid held up a mirror before her.
"Ah!" Angelica gasped.
In the reflection, she saw herself—but she barely recognised the person looking back.
Her usually straight hair now fell in elegant waves, framing her face beautifully. She wore a turtleneck sweater paired with trousers, giving her a sophisticated and mature look.
“I’m sure Ren-sama will love it!” one of the maids declared confidently.
"Yes, yes, I completely agree!" another chimed in excitedly.
Angelica blushed slightly, feeling a little embarrassed by their attention. Still, deep inside, she felt a small flicker of happiness at their compliments.
"Thank you, everyone. I’ll head down for breakfast now," she said politely.
The maids cheered and wished her a pleasant meal as Angelica left the room, making her way to the dining hall.
Even with all the questions still weighing on her mind, she chose to embrace the pleasant moments around her. Perhaps, today would bring the answers she was looking for.
In the dining hall, Hasegawa Ren sat relaxed, chatting with Murasaki-san.
"Yes, where is Angelica-san?" Ren asked.
Before Murasaki-san could respond, the door to the dining hall opened, and Angelica stepped inside with graceful steps.
“Ah,” Ren’s eyes widened slightly, his expression shifting between surprise and admiration at Angelica’s beauty.
“Ufufufu,” Murasaki-san chuckled softly, amused by Ren’s reaction.
“So, Ren-sama, what do you think of Angelica-sama’s appearance?” Murasaki-san asked with a gentle smile, subtly implying how much Angelica valued his opinion.
Angelica met Ren’s gaze with a warm smile, feeling a sense of comfort in his reaction.
“Ahahaha,” Ren let out a small, awkward laugh, trying to mask his nervousness.
Even though he hadn’t said much, Angelica was eager to hear his thoughts. She could feel the slight tension in the air, making her even more curious.
"Ren-san, what do you think?" Angelica asked softly, careful not to sound too expectant.
“You… you look stunning, Angelica,” Ren finally said, his voice gentle as his tense expression softened.
Hearing those words, Angelica felt a warm happiness bloom inside her. Though it was just a simple compliment, it gave her a sense of confidence and reassurance.
"Thank you, Ren-san," Angelica replied with a bright smile. "I truly appreciate it."
Murasaki, standing beside them, watched with a satisfied smile, hoping that this warmth between them would continue to grow.
