Chapter 16:
Juilet and her Romeo
Azutoyo’s laughter went on for much longer than would be comfortable if there were anyone else in the room with him. Once he finally calmed down, the boy took a deep breath as he regained his composure.
“Everything is coming together great.” He spoke to himself as he placed his tie down on the dresser and sat down on the bed to rest.
As it would turn out, the newly hired servant for the Myoufuku family was actually a spy who was actually on the side of the Capas. Azutoyo went through great lengths in order to be able to get working for this powerful family. He had to scrub much of his original identity, only retaining his name. Then there was the training that had to be done in order to become someone who could even be hired for such a prestigious position regardless of the employer.
Finally he also had a good sob story to convince the patriarch of this family to consider him strongly. The fact he was the same age as the son of this family also helped a lot.
Azutoyo laid down to enjoy the finer comforts of this new life. This was much better than his previous living situation. Which was a cheap, but humble apartment, back when he still went to Capa academy. There wasn’t any family he could go to back then as he had become estranged from them. He couldn’t live with people that he hated and whom hated him.
Though considering his new living arrangement, not much changed there. He absolutely hated having to serve these people. And should they learn of his true idenity, then they’d hate the thought of having someone like him serve him. Or perhaps they’d enjoy the idea of making one of their enemies their servants? Maybe if they weren’t paying him as well as they were.
As he laid on the bed, Azutoyo’s thoughts went back to Ryuo, his target. He had only been here for a few days, but not much special had happened during this time. Of course, he didn’t think this job would be an easy one. There was still a lot of time to gain his trust and he was willing to bide his time.
This didn’t mean he simply did the job as asked. He did a few things to try and get the jump on the boy. Such as when he entered the room by only knocking once and quickly entering. He hoped to catch that boy in a compromising position.
“Hmm, I wonder why kind of secrets that guy has?” He said to himself. Azutoyo hoped he could find something soon enough. Maybe he could even catch him in the act of consuming lolicon content. “Heh, that would be funny.” He chuckled to himself as the time for daydreaming had come to an end. It was time for him to return to playing the act of dutiful servant once again.
Jurie returned to her house after saying her goodbyes to Ryuo. As expected from someone with her status, she also lived in a rather nice mansion. Its size could be described as about the same as his place. Though that was where the similarities ended.
Unlike his more traditional build and decorations. Her home was much more modern. Its architecture fit closer to that which could be found outside of the country. Meanwhile it was filled with electronics and digital smart products that could handle much of the work servants were known for.
“Welcome back, mistress.” That didn’t mean there was no one working here. When Jurie entered her home, she was immediately greeted by the latest addition to the small staff in the form of a girl her age. “I hope the person enjoyed the soup you made me make.”
“They loved it.” She beamed with joy in greeting her personal maid. “And Yumoko, you don’t have to be all uptight around me. I don’t care about all that prim and proper stuff.”
“Now miss, you know we should maintain a relationship that respects the differences between us.” Her maid continued her tone as she bowed down. “Now if you’ll be finished for the rest of the day. I can draw a bath for you.”
“I think I can handle cleaning myself just fine.” Jurie thanked her for the offer, but walked on by to prepare for a much needed bath. It would be wise to make sure she cleaned herself after spending as much time as she did with the ill Ryuo.
“If there’s anything you need, simply let me know.” Yumoko let her be as she headed into the kitchen to begin making dinner for the family. As she grabbed out the ingredients, a devious smile crept onto her face as she couldn’t help but chuckle. “I wonder when you’ll slip up.” She murmured to herself as she cut up some carrots.
As it turned out, Ryuo wasn’t the only one with a new servant with a secret identity. The new maid for the Chikakui family had also managed to infiltrate their walls by posing as an innocent maid.
Her full name was Yumoko Shikaba, and just like Azutoyo, was biding her time to try and uncover any dark secrets Jurie might be hiding. Also similar to the other servant, she was able to scrub much of her true identity outside of her name to be able to take the job. A lot of hard work was done to become a proper lady, something she relished since childhood anyway. Plus she had managed to give Jurie’s father a good sob story for good measure.
That said, she did enjoy the many perks of being a live-in servant. After all, her sad story wasn’t all false. The girl didn’t have much of a home to enjoy as she was stuck living in a small apartment that was lacking in anything outside of the bare necessities. She didn’t have a family to go back to. So being able to enjoy the luxurious accommodations of the Chikakui family was a nice bonus. Even if it came from people she hated from the bottom of her heart.
As she turned on the stove and began to stir fry some vegetables, Yumoko wondered aloud on what she might uncover from her target. “Hmm, I wonder who you gave that soup to? I can imagine a girl like you is popular with those boys of Capa who only think with what’s in their pants. Perhaps you have yourself a scandalous lover?”
She knew something like that to expose the girl would be great, if it were true. “Or maybe you’ve got a secret MyFans account to make money off those fools.”
After dinner, Yumoko was ready to retire for the night in her room. However she got stuck having to talk with Jurie once more as tomorrow was an important day.
“Are you excited for your first day at Capa academy?” She was asked right outside her room.
“Very.” It pained her to have something so blasphemous come out of her mouth, but she had to keep up the act no matter what. “I hear that it’s one of the best schools around.”
“More like the best school.” Jurie’s put-down of Monta didn’t go unnoticed to her, but she had to bite her tongue to avoid getting into an argument. “Also I picked out your uniform already. You’ll look so cute in it, I’m sure you’ll love it.”
“I’m sure you’ve got excellent taste.” She knew she’d have to clean the taste from her mouth after uttering those words. “Now mistress, I’d like to retire for the night. We can talk again in the morning on the way to school.” She was finally free from her employer’s daughter’s attention as she slipped inside.
Just as she was told, there laid a girl’s school uniform on her bed. Yumoko picked it up and examined the clothing. “So this tacky outfit is what they call their sorry excuse of a uniform.” She said as she evaluated it. Unfortunately this would also be what she’d be wearing for the foreseeable future until her mission was completed.
As she put the outfit over her figure and stared at the full length mirror, Yumoko thought about what was yet to come. So far, being a maid was easy. After all, she had always dreamed of becoming a servant for a wealthy family. Being someone so dutiful, it was perfect for the person she truly was.
But becoming a student in Capa academy was certain to be an entirely different beast to tame. Montas and Capas don’t mix. So she’d have to do her best to try to blend in, avoid too much attention, and ultimately not give up her identity.
This would easily be the greatest challenge of her life so far.
