Chapter 160:
The Lifeless Supermoon: A Fateful Encounter
The next day, Kanako and Ayane went to school, they both looking less agonised than before. Ayane giggled a bit while in class thinking of last night, catching her spies' attention.
Kanako on the other hand, had a less-guilty mind and could think of a way more clearly than before. He opened his notebook where he wrote the possible explanations of what's happening.
During lunch time, the spies observed Ayane from behind. They were stressed out. Why was she happy? Is she enjoying the mental torture she was facing? They took a photo and sent it to Sakiko.
"What the..." Sakiko's eyes shrunk, seeing Ayane's happy expression. Her phone fell off from his hand. What was happening?? Is her plan failing?
She shook her head. "Something happened... something really happened in these two days... that Ayane..."
Her anger fumed. She broke the pencil on her hand in half, cutting her hand in several places. "The two days I wasn't monitoring them... and such disaster happened... I cannot let that slide... Ayane communicated with him in some way... I know it, otherwise she wouldn't have such an expression. Ayane, do you really want me to call your father home? Or do you not like that Kanako of yours that you don't care what I do with him...? You really now how to get on my nerves don't you? Pushing me to extremes..."
"Don't blame me for what I would do next. It won't just be as silly as a date this time." She grinned, trying to hold her laughter mid class. "Maybe I should visit her and tell her that myself."
After school, Ayane got home with better spirits. In lunch, she got a peek of Kanako, enough for her to last another day.
She walked through the evening sky, looking at the distant sea. These fimiliar roads seem rather lonely, giving off orange hues from the sun. She looked at her feet, counting the steps she took. Small steps, big steps, small jumps. Last night got her feeling like a rabbit as she finally felt some relief after so much crying.
"Heya, Ayane-chan! High on sprits, eh?"
Ayane froze, seeing the person standing in front of her house door. This time, her eyes still lively. It didn't fade its colour, but froze in fright.
"What do you want, nee-san?" Ayane asked, staring at her cousin's eyes. This was going to be her last time crying, she told herself. And after this, she will not rely on Kanako for everything, but will try to stand on her own two feet.
Sakiko grinned hysterically. "I really, REALLY hate rebellious eyes, you know?"
"What do you want, nee-san?" Ayane insisted, only fuelling Sakiko's hatred.
Sakiko walked straight towards her, swinging her arm in an arc and slapped her. "Don't you know how to talk to your older sister?!?!?"
There were no people on the streets, giving Sakiko the upper hands. Ayane fell on the ground, but her eyes were still lively. She realised now how much she really hated those lively eyes.
In a split second, she devised the most hideous plan she had ever made for revenge. Her plan, solely based on breaking Ayane into pieces...
She pulled up Ayane by the hair. "Just you watch... Ayane. Just watch what I do to your precious little boy Kanako..."
Ayane felt scared. Those eyes that Sakiko had, was no sane person's eyes... it was out of humanity. Ayane feared for her life, for her safety...
