My name is Arata Kasaragi, age 16. I've just enrolled in my first year of high school, and if I had to describe myself in one word, it would be "average." Literally.

My height? Average.
My looks? Black hair, green eyes. Pretty standard mob character material, if you ask me.

I live with my single mom and older sister. Oh, right—my dad? Only God knows where he is. Another fatherless child story? Blah, blah. Whatever. I don’t care.

Moving on.

Surprisingly, my mom has a well-paying job and supports us just fine. My older sister's name is Tsumi. Single, useless, and annoying. Despite graduating high school with top grades in her year, she still lives with us.

Her excuse?

"My whole life has been spent dedicated to these gosh darn books, so I need a break!"

For some reason, that line resonated with me… though I have no idea why.

And finally, my younger sister’s name is—oh, right. I don’t have one.
I guess, like most teenage adolescent males, I’ll never get to hear a cute little "Uwu~ Oni-chan~" from a baby sister.

...Unfortunate.

Now that we’ve gotten the introductions and fantasies out of the way—cough—let’s fast forward to my first day of high school.
