Chapter 164:
The Lifeless Supermoon: A Fateful Encounter
"Glad to see you here, Kanako-kun!" Sakiko excitedly wrapped her arms around Kanako's, like she when did when he treated her cake. She didn't hold back with the distance between them, nor with the two extra unbuttoned uniform of hers.
"Uhh... Sakiko-san... I am pretty sweaty right now so..." Kanako awkwardly tried to keep his distance, making up any excuse. He had started to think that this is just her personality and how she treats everyone. But still, he felt that she should keep her distance and respect others' boundaries.
Sakiko smiled, as if it had no thought behind it. "I don't mind it. Well then, lets go!"
Kanako blushed, seeing the amount of people staring at them. He was embarrassed, trying to cover his face as Sakiko pulled his hand sleeve over to the train that was stopped there.
"Sakiko-san, you said you contacted Ayane's cousin and managed to make us meet, but where are we meeting?" Kanako asked as they went inside the metro, Sakiko still holding his arms tightly, slightly shifting her weight over his body.
"Don't worry." Sakiko looked at Kanako. "Its on your home island at a Karaoke!"
"Eh?!" Kanako was taken aback. "Why a karaoke?!"
He was confused. Nobody does ever meet up at karaokes, do they? It's meant for large groups. It's not something a three people meeting is suited for.
Sakiko laughed, judging Kanako's expression. "Sorry, I had no other choice but invite her to a Karaoke. She would've been easily suspicious otherwise. And I have invited some other people too, if you don't mind..."
Well, what she said was right. Ayane's cousin could get suspicious otherwise, if she heard a random person who is close with Ayane suddenly asks to talk with them.
He looked around the metro, with most of the seats filled up due to school break. He avoided all eye contact as students of different schools eyed them, giggling and chatting while looking at their direction.
Kanako's heart ached in pain, pain for Ayane. Somewhere in his heart, he wanted people to do the same when it was Ayane, not some random person who seems way to friendly.
He looked at his hands, reminiscing the touch on her crying cheeks, the holding of her soft hands. Her warm hug when she sat as a backpack on his cycle, her warm smile, her eyes, her hair... everything...
Its been too long... he is starving, craving for the addicting affection he received when he was with her. It was in fact too long. Ten days, he was surprised he could survive that long...
Even with girl wrapped around his arms, his thoughts were wrapped around another one, the one he truly loved.
"I miss her... I miss her to death..." Kanako thought, looking outside the metro's window.
