Chapter 2:

“You like being left alone, am I correct?”

Mizuki

Itsuki sat in the principal's office, finishing his homework due to him misbehaving. It was quiet there. Strangely quiet, almost as if someone was watching him. He was overwhelmed, but he didn’t want to admit it.

Meanwhile, Mizuki had stopped running, by now, she knew she was too far away to be heard. She cursed herself for leaving in the first place.

“I’m sorry, Hana. I’m truly sorry.” She wiped the tears off her face.

“I hate it, I FUCKING HATE IT! I’M SUCH A STUPID, USELESS, HORRIBLE PERSON!” Mizuki started sobbing again, it was worthless now, Hana wouldn't forgive her, nor would anyone else.

“I’m sorry, Hana. I’M SORRY!” She exclaimed. “I know you won’t forgive me, but…” Mizuki’s voice trailed off, cracking slightly. “I’m sorry.”

After finishing his homework, Itsuki decided to go out into the woods for a nature walk, on his way there, though. He noticed Mizuki lying in the grass, covered in sweat and tears.

“Are you alright?” Itsuki exclaimed.

“...”

“You like being left alone, am I correct?” Itsuki asked.

Mizuki nodded her head slowly, avoiding eye contact. Mainly because she didnt want him to see her puffy red face.

“Oh, ok. I’m sorry for bothering you then.” He apologized. “Hey, can I stay with you? I'd feel guilty if I left you alone like that.”

Mizuki stayed silent, quickly nodded her head and hugged him tightly. Tears flooding from her eyes.

“T-thank y-you!” She whispered quietly.
