Limits - Mesuda Village Arc

As Witz finished speaking she grabbed the beast by the throat with her left gauntlet and slammed it into the ground.

The bear roared as it felt the impact of it body hitting the ground. After Witz let go of the bear she turned back to Ash “you gonna stand there or are we gonna fight a few beasts till coffee head and double Ds gets finished with the evacuation”

“Eh uh nah I’m gonna rest for a bit also Witz maybe look behind you first” spoke Ash as he stared at Witz with a look of disbelief.

As Ash said this Witz turned round to see both Honō and a bright red Selene standing only a foot behind her.

“Oh, hi guys, took you long enough” chuckled Witz as she looked at Selene who looked redder than a tomato or possibly the colour red itself.

“Let’s just get back to taking out the beasts” suggested Honō in a disappointed monotone voice at Witz.

“I like that idea” replied Witz as she stood there slightly disheartened.

As they finished talking Honō walked up to the beast that Witz had slammed onto the ground and stabbed it in its neck killing it.

While Honō pulled his blade from the bears body, the bear with diamond paws attempted to attack them. As the attack near them Witz dodged to the left while Selene and Honō dodged to the right, causing the bear to hit the wall behind them.

The wall began to shake before collapsing from the bear's attack. As the wall fell the bear began to charge at Witz. As the bear charged at her she stood ready for the attack, the bear raised its claw before bringing it down on Witz in a mighty slash to her chest. Nothing happened, Witz’s chest plate had absorbed the hit once more.

Witz smiled once more with excitement before punching the bear in its gut launching it back, as she hit it back another bear appeared behind her with its arms coated in stone. The bear lunged at Witz knocking her to the ground.

As the bear stood over her it began to launch a furry of swipes and slashes at Witz to which she used her gauntlets to block any and all that went for her head. The bear began to coat its claws in even more stone before slashing Witz’s gauntlets out of the way shattering one of them. As the bear went for a second slash a dagger launched into its throat killing it instantly.

As the bear fell to the ground Witz let out a sigh of relief before saying “thanks for the save Ash”

“No worries just remember your limits you’re only B rank” said Ash as he sat at a wall resting from his fight with all the beasts.

“Ok Dad, also nah the more I forget my limits the more I screw up letting me know where I need to improve on my gears” replied Witz reckless as ever as she inversely duplicated her remaining gauntlet to be the opposite hand.

“Huh, I guess that makes sense then just don’t push yourself too far then” responded Ash shocked by a semi logical explanation.

As she put on the gauntlet the bear that had the diamond aether had got back up and begun to coat its entire body in diamond before charging at Witz furiously. As it neared her it raised its diamond coated claw towards Witz before bringing it down on Witz’s chest plate once more this time pushing Witz back but not as far as she would have had been without the gear.

The mere fact that she had been pushed back meant that the chest plate had reached its current limit.

“Huh, guess screw around and find out ain’t viable anymore” spoke Witz disappointed that this was all her chest plate could withstand. As Witz said this she began to dash towards the diamond coated beast.

The bear began to charge at Witz in return. As the two neared each other the beast began to lunge at Witz who responded by catching the bear by the paws. It had become a battle of physical strength.

As they stood at a stand still trying to push each other back, Witz managed to push the bear back only inches but that was enough space to let her punch the beast in the stomach.

As she punched the beast she yelled,

“DOUBLE IMPACT, TIMES THREE”

As she said this the impact of her punch doubled, again and again three times.

The initial punch cracking the diamond, the second impact breaking through the diamond and the third and forth impacts creating a crater in the beast’s abdomen killing it instantly as its digestive organs got crushed between its stomach and spine.
