Chapter 5:

Tempting Death

My New Boss is the Grim Reaper?!

Death’s Office, Death Incorporated Building, Late evening

Akane has a fiercely determined expression.

Akane: “There is no way these cases aren’t related. This is the work of a serial killer.”

Death has a concerned expression. He flips through the documents Akane gave him.

Death (Narration): “This year…two years ago…five years…eight?!”

Death becomes more and more surprised as he flips through. He glances up at Akane.

Death (Narration): “How many reports would she have to look through to find all of these? Hundreds…no, thousands.”

Finally, Death passes the stack of paper back to Akane.

Death: “Maybe you’re right. Maybe these incidents are all related. But even so, our jobs are to work through deaths and ensure spirits pass on properly to their rightful fates. How they die is not our problem.”

Akane is annoyed.

Akane: “This is helping spirits pass on properly! How are they supposed to rest in peace when they’re not getting any justice!”

Death: “Then what do you suggest we do?”

Akane: “I don’t know, bring this to the police?”

Death: “And where do we draw the line? Do you know how many spirits have regrets with their deaths? Should we pass on their last words? Do their last errands?”

Death is serious about his position, though there is a hint of regret in his expression.

Death: “I understand the suffering these spirits are going through. I wish I could help them, but there are rules to our existence. Energy cannot be created or destroyed. Tomorrow must follow today. The dead cannot interfere with the living.”

Akane is saddened. She is desperate.

Akane: “Please, Death. These people aren’t numbers on a page. They might be dead, but they’re real and they’re human and they are scared. They deserve just a little kindness.”

Death shakes his head. He is resolute.

Death: “There is a natural order to the world. Even I can’t break it.”

Akane clenches her fists. She is still determined to help those spirits, no matter what the cost.

With a fierce expression, Akane takes a step towards Death. She begins to unbutton her shirt.

Death is confused.

Akane has a cold expression. She unties her hair, letting it flow down to her shoulders. She is irresistibly attractive.

Akane comes up close to Death, pressing her breasts against his chest. Death has an aroused but confused expression.

Akane begins to loosen Death’s tie.

Death: “What are you doing?”

Akane does not look like she wants to do this, but she knows she has to. She reaches a hand into Death’s pants and unzips them. She reaches inside and takes out Death’s manhood. Death winces.

Akane kneels down. She begins by slowly licking the shaft. She moves up, little by little, and plants small kisses along the way.

Death has an expression of pleasure. He breathes heavily.

Finally, Akane makes it to the tip. She moves back some of her hair and widens her mouth. With one hand gripped around the base of his member, Akane begins to move her head up and down, sucking carefully.

Death breathes deeply. He cannot hide his immense feelings of pleasure, but he also knows that something is wrong.

Akane continues going back and forth and Death continues to feel great pleasure.

Before Death can finish, Akane takes his manhood out of her mouth. Strings of saliva slip down its shaft. Death looks at her, waiting for what she will do next.

Akane wipes her lips. Then, she takes off her work skirt.

Death is struggling to focus.

Death: “Hayakawa-san.”

Akane takes off her panties. She is now completely naked from the waist down.

Akane: ‘This is what you wanted, right?”

Akane reaches out to hold Death’s manhood. She angles it towards the place between her legs.

Death breathes heavily. His eyes widen. He looks concerned.

Death: “But you said…”

Akane starts to put it in.

Akane: “Just promise me that you’ll look into the murders.”

Akane is just about to insert it when Death suddenly grabs her wrist. Akane looks up, surprised. Death’s eyes are filled with anger and concern.

Death: “Why are you doing this?!”

He leans in at her with a scowl. Their faces are close.

Death: “Digging through decades worth of files. Interviewing people for hours. And now this?!”

Akane’s eyes widen. She tries to pull her hand away, but Death’s grip is too strong. When she tries to use her other hand to help, Death grabs it too. He has both her wrists gripped tight.

Death begins to grow in size. He is becoming bigger, but also angrier. His teeth become sharper, his hands more claw-like. There is a bestial and feral sense in his eyes. He does not fully become his inhuman skeletal form, but he is starting to turn more animalistic in both appearance and instinct.

His shadow seems like it looms over her.

Death: “Why are you so desperate to hurt yourself for a bunch of corpses?!”

Akane is brave. She’s not scared. In fact, she’s annoyed. She has a face of fierce determination, despite looking small compared to Death’s hulking form. She looks so fragile compared to him, and yet she has such strength and willpower.

Akane: “Just because they’re dead, doesn’t mean you still can’t be kind.”

Death’s eyes widen. He is completely shocked by Akane’s answer. He begins to reverse back to his normal form.

Death: “My god, you really are just that naive.”

Akane finally manages to rip her hands away from Death’s grip. There are marks still left on her wrists from where Death held them.

Death looks at the marks. He turns away, feeling very guilty, but he doesn’t want Akane to know that. He begins to fix his tie.

Death: “Do not look into this further. Go back to the job I gave you. If you don’t…”

Death turns back to face Akane. He has a terrifying expression.

Death: “I’ll make you wish I had fired you.”
