Chapter 0:
Crimson Moon: Blood Fest
This story starts with the descension of two individuals from the heavens, both who ruled upon the light of the living and the darkness of the dead. They came upon earth to create all life and the humans that we now know. They were Lucius, King of the Divine Light and Selene, Queen of the Eternal Night. Their love transcended all planes of reality and born unto them was a child who shone like the twilight, Roxana. The three lived among the humans as their rulers and were ever so nurturing and benevolent.
Everything was peaceful, until humans grew stronger and started dividing among themselves. And then it began, War. Humans raged war against each other in earnest, making the Queen of the Night question their rule yet her beloved husband and child held onto hope that the humans would once again regain their purity and it wasn't their choice to interfere with mortal qualms.
Then one day the war reached the gates of the royal capital, the empire upon which the Monarchs of Life and Death ruled. Yet they were unaware of the upcoming calamity as they had to tend to the heavenly realms leaving their daughter Roxana to handle the battle all on her own.
Upon the commencement of the war Roxana refused to fight on the offensive, she swore to protect and defend her subjects. Her strength was unrivaled as she was who that was born unto the primordial ones, yet not once did she attack the other humans. She was still but a fledgling, her defense couldn't hold out for long. The warriors drunk on blood, burst through her defenses and began slaughtering the people of her kingdom, The monarch's warriors fought back fiercely to protect the exhausted princess to the result of which ended in a massacre leaving behind a mountain of corpses.
The naive and benevolent princess felt her chest getting heavier and made a decision that would but save all who had died yet would distort her soul, as she began her incantation, her mother the Queen of The Eternal Night, Selene felt an imbalance in the realm of the dead, her eyes went pale as she realized what was happening, she grabbed her beloved and they both returned to their kingdom immediately, but it was too late..
Roxana had brought all who had died back to the realm of the living by borrowing her mother's authority by force, and blessed upon them the essence of life once again with the authority of her father, Lucius. This was no menial task, it drained all of her life force and corrupted her soul as she had broken the taboo. The monarchs could only look at their beloved child slowly disappear with tears in their eyes, and then the twilight fell and the night began to rise.
The full moon shone with a bright light but then as she saw the last remains of her daughter disappear, the Night Queen's soul began to quiver in rage for the humans, The moon began to turn a dark blood red reflecting the Queen's Soul that began to change. Lucius, who was still in tears snapped back to reality instantly as he realized what his Queen was planning to do. As saddened and enraged as he was, he couldn't let his beloved massacre all her children from blind rage.
A deep silence fell only to be broken by Selene's Scream
"HUMANS! BEAR MY UNBRIDLED RAGE AND REGRET EVER BEING BORN FOR YOU HAVE TAKEN SOMETHING THAT IS MORE PRECIOUS THAN MY OWN LIFE"
Her voice was filled with so much rage and bloodlust that Lucius himself couldn't help but shiver a little. He knew that it was too late for words to get through to her and that not all humans deserved to pay the price. Therefore he hardened his resolve and began using all his strength into sealing his beloved, as much as it pained him to see the saddened look in her eyes, as much as it felt as though he was betraying her, with tears in his eyes, he sacrificed his physical body to entrap Selene into the Moon. Before he disappeared he cast one last Supreme Spell, he erased the memories of divinity from all of humanity so that they could live by themselves, lessening the chances of them committing such foolery again.
Millennia passed and humans completely unaware of what sins their ancestors committed, lived peacefully in the present day.
Then, one day, a day seeming ever so normal began to grow eerier as the night fell, as the moon shone once again a bright blood red, how will the humans survive?
