A Bad Joke - Mesuda Village Arc

*authors note* hello again so soon I will be going on a break for a while so no chapter till the 12th. I hope you enjoy the chapter and a sneak peak at what may happen in whats to come in the second half of Mesuda Village later this week over on the instagram page.

After they made their way back to Selene’s cabin they sat down while Selene went over to check on Opal who was still sleeping in the bed on the far side of the room.

“Man, I’m tired” yawned Witz as she spread out on the couch hitting Honō who sat next to her with her fist.

“You mind not hitting me” asked Honō rhetorically at Witz in a monotone voice.

Witz ignoring Honō continued to stretch the way she was until Selene came back over to them after checking on Opal.

“How are you all now?” Asked Selene as she looked over the trio sitting in home.

“I’m good” answered Ash as he laid in his chair with his eyes closed and arms crossed.

“Same just tired” replied Witz as she sat up on the couch trying to not look disrespectful in Selene’s home.

“I’m ok” pitched in Honō as he looked to ground deep in thought about what his plan to find the man in black would be.

“Oh good, good anyone hungry? I plan to make some carbonara and wake Opal up soon and I wouldn’t like to make you watch her eat” spoke Selene in an attempt to be a good host to her guests and patient who slept and the other side of the room.

“Ooooh food yes please” answered Witz excitedly as she envisioned a large plate of carbonara in her mind.

“Sure, I wouldn’t mind food” replied Honō as he looked around at Witz who was too giddy about food, then at Ash who had fallen asleep, and finally at Selene who he gave a warm smile too.

“That’s settled then, carbonara for five” smiled Selene happy to be able to cook for others again.

After a while of waiting, Selene called to let them know that the food was ready. Before giving everyone their food she walked to the other side of the room and woke up Opal who she had put to sleep earlier in the day with her aether.

After Opal woke up, she joined everyone else on the couch and armchairs while Selene started to give out the plates of carbonara to everyone. Before they began to eat Opal began to speak, “I’m sorry about my aggression before, you were all just trying to help”

Witz bursted into a laugh as she spoke, “no worries about it we understand why you were aggressive”

“Oh, well still thanks anyway for helping me” thanked Opal as she bowed her head to the group.

“Shall we eat now” suggested Selene in a voice of anticipation.

“Sure” replied Honō as he started to eat the carbonara. As the carbonara touched the tastebuds in his mouth he felt as if all his worries left him and had felt bliss. Honō looked up to see everyone else who had tasted the carbonara make the same reaction with Selene sitting smiling as she saw them enjoy her cooking.

“Yous like it?” Asked Selene half knowing the answer she was about to get.

“Its brilliant I haven’t had a home cooked meal like this in years” answered Witz with a satisfied yet gluttonous smile on her face as she continued to devour the carbonara.

“You could say it soothes the soul” pitched in Honō in an attempt to make a joke.

Everyone looked at Honō all with the same look of “bruh” until Selene started to laugh and joined in saying “ya you could say I put my soul into making it”.

Honō and Selene both laughed as the others continued to eat the carbonara while looking at them with the look that spoke only one word “bruh”.
