“Good job, you made it look easy” said Honō as he walked over to Selene with a calm smile.

“Thanks, Honō but I’m not that good it was challenging trying to keep up with its attacks” replied Selene with a slight blush on her face.

As she finished speaking one last beast appeared out of nowhere behind them and roared letting out a small whirlwind of sand sending both of them flying. As the two of them went flying Honō landed onto the ground while Selene landed gracefully on her feet.

The bear attempted to do the same roar attack as it had just done as Selene helped Honō up. As the bear let out it’s roar Honō grabbed onto Selene and stabbed his sword into the ground as an anchor.

As the bears roar continued, Honō pulsed electric frost into the ground making a wall of ice in front of them to act as cover. Honō let go of Selene as the wall came fully up.

“Sorry for grabbing you without warning” spoke Honō as he apologised to Selene.

“Ya warning could have been nice but don’t be sorry it’s ok I understand why you did it, anyway, how are we going to deal with the whirlwind of sand?” replied Selene as a deep blush faded from her face.

“I could get in close once its roar ends only problem is it’s like it’s got lungs of steel” answered Honō as he assessed the situation they were in.

“Why don’t you do that glacial volt thing you did earlier that way you would have to get close” questioned Selene as the beast's roar continued.

“That won’t work you see it’s sand which acts as an insulator to my electricity so by the time it would reach, it would already be dispersed by all the sand” spoke Honō as he thought of ideas.

“I see so it is just a waiting game then,” said Selene as the bears roar grew even louder before randomly stopping.

As the bear's roar stopped Honō wasted no time in getting to the beast in a blue flash. When got in front of the he swung his sword still coated in electric frost at bears jaw slicing it clean off as the rest of its head burst into ice.

The beast was dead but there wasn’t something right with what had happened with the beast.

— “Why did it stop roaring so suddenly?”

— “Was it in pain before it stopped?”

— “Was that why it’s roar got louder before it stopped?”

As these thoughts went through Honō’s head he noticed something coming from under the dead beast's stomach. It was a pool of blood.

Someone had attacked it during it’s roar.

Someone had interfered with his hunt.

The only thing going through his head now was,

— “who?”

Then it all clicked in Honō mind he realised who it was that caused the sudden beast attack and interfered with his hunt.

It could be only one person. It was the man dressed in black that had collected the corpses of the beasts in Zallo.

As Honō thought to himself Witz, Ash and Selene had made their way over to him.

“Nice that was the last one, right?” Asked Witz as she took of her chest plate.

“Oh, ya that’s all of them now” answered Honō snapping out of his train of thought.

“Good, then are to make our way back to Echilia now?” Asked Ash as he stretched and sheathed his daggers.

“No, I think we should stay a while longer, help with the repairs you know” replied Honō as unconsciously decided to keep the information of the man in black to himself.

“Oh, that’s unlike you usually you just say mission done let’s head back” spoke Witz in her best Honō impression.

“Ok one I don’t sound like that and two call it trying to be nice to our neighbouring nation” answered Honō trying not to arouse suspicion from her.

“I guess, ok sure, ya let’s stay a bit longer and help rebuild. You ok with that Ash?” Asked Witz as she turned to face Ash with her hands crossed behind her head.

“Sure, I’m down to stay a while longer” answered Ash as he scratched his head.

“Oh well if yous are going to stay longer than you could all stay at my place” suggested Selene as she stood overhearing the conversation.

“Thanks for the offer” replied Honō as he put on a warm smile.

As they started making their way back to Selene’s home all that went through Honō’s head was

— will the man in black come back tonight. 

— Will he try get the corpses of the beasts.

— And why did he need the corpses.
