Chapter 59:
Engulfed in Darkness - Becoming a Villain in Another World
Hiroshi knew that he had feelings for Wisteria. He loved everything about her, but he hid those feelings away. He never wanted to hurt anyone ever again, and the last conversation they had almost solidified Hiroshi’s life without Wisteria.
However, during this hug, Hiroshi felt closer to Wisteria more than ever.
He took Wisteria’s hands away slowly and softly pushed himself away from the hug. He turned around and shimmed towards her to face her directly. He scanned her eyes for any emotion at all. They were so bright and colorful. Hiroshi could feel his throat close and tighten up.
“Wisteria…” he whispered softly. He could feel the blood rushing to his brain. He was so weak and tired. He knew he was only moments away from kneeling over from exhaustion. Still on his knees, he struggled to stand, but Wisteria stopped him, putting her hands firmly on his shoulders.
“It’s alright Hiroshi…don’t stand,” she told him. She looked as if she was about to burst into tears.
“W-What’s wrong…Wisteria? What is it you wanted to tell me?” he asked curiously. Although, he already knew at that moment what she wanted to say. Instantly, she just exploded, her emotions taking over.
“Oh Oshi!” she cried, tears running down her cheeks. “I’m so sorry about all those mean things I said about Blossom! I was so drunk and stupid and I’m sorry!”
“It’s alright, I overreacted too…Tomo said I hurt you, I’m sorry I put you through all that…” Hiroshi said, trying to comfort Wisteria.
“No! Stop diverting the conversation from me! I know what I said was wrong! It’s just that…” she took a second to take a deep breath, “I was scared! I only had one man that I loved, and he beat me relentlessly! I was afraid that you would do the same, and I really value our friendship, and, I don’t think you failed Blossom! I just…this training is getting serious and I don't want to stress about even more things! I’m so scared!”
Hiroshi was taken aback by Wisteria. It was clear that she also had feelings for him. He was also afraid. Very much so. He wanted to run away. He wanted to tell her no. He wanted to say that he wasn’t ready.
And yet, his heart told him different.
“I…I am scared too, Wisteria,” Hiroshi stated honestly, and Wisteria gasped and looked up, her tears welling up again. “You are such a great person. You make me smile and you have the greatest smile in the whole world. You make me think that maybe…maybe the human race isn’t so bad. It’s just that I don’t want to lose another partner because of my mistakes…but…I also don’t want to run away anymore.”
“Oh Oshi…you’re amazing too! Even though you act so cold, I know that you have a great personality, and you make me laugh and your so sweet and…and…” Wisteria gasped for breath. Hiroshi’s breath also became uneven, and for the first time since Blossom, his heartbeat became uneven.
“Wisteria…are you saying…”
“Yes, Oshi…I…I…”
The two looked at each other, deep in each other’s eyes. Tomokazu and Bibi stood to one side and smiled at one another. They knew that it was finally happening. Hiroshi tucked a strand of Wisteria’s loose hair behind her ear, and she giggled softly. They both opened their mouths, and simultaneously said the exact same thing.
“I love you!”
They both blushed at one another. Hiroshi leaned in closer. Wisteria gasped, trying to keep her cool.
“What are you doing?”
“Oh…sorry…I…” Hiroshi pulled away. Wisteria grabbed the collar of Hiroshi’s tattered and torn shirt, and brought him in for a loving kiss. The one drone that was left picked it up on the cameras, and the whole capital cheered in unison. Alexander let out a nervous laugh. He thought he would see a lot of things today, but a confession was not one of them. Wisteria and Hiroshi broke off from the kiss, and brought their foreheads together, laughing softly together, Hiroshi’s arms limp at his sides.
“So…are we dating now?” Wisteria asked, blushing furiously.
“Yeah…we are, sweetheart,” Hiroshi jumped up and cheered. “God, I have waited so long to call you that!”
“Ah, that was your pet name from Blossom!” Wisteria laughed. “Come up with a new name for me!”
“Hmmm…” Hiroshi thought to himself for a bit, putting his finger on his chin and pretending to think playfully. “Since you call me Oshi…I can call you Witz? Shorten your name?”
“Hmm…somehow that doesn’t seem to suit me,” Wisteria smiled. “Why don’t you call me Babe?”
“Babe?! You sure?!” Hiroshi blushed. “That seems so…um…uh…alright! Babe it is…”
“Thanks…Oshi,” Wisteria blushed really hard.
“Um…Babe?”
“Yeah?”
“I don’t feel so good…”
At that moment, Hiroshi began to fall face first, aiming for the dirt. Wisteria caught him, and laid him down on the ground, his head in her lap.
“Wisteria…I got Grant weak…but they are really strong…Grant can use Carte Blanche,” Hiroshi coughed, looking deeply into his new partner’s eyes.
“I know, it’s alright, just rest now,” Wisteria smiled. “I got this, Babe.”
“That’s supposed to be my name for you,” Hiroshi let out a pained laugh, just before going unconscious. “Love…you…”
“Love you too…” Wisteria smiled, getting up slowly, and letting Hiroshi get some rest, Bibi supported his head with a rock, and even though it was very uncomfortable, it was the thought that counted. The same couldn’t be said for Bibi throwing a rock at Tomokazu’s head.
“Hey, what was that for?!” he yelled out, confused at Bibi’s sudden outburst.
“I know you like me as much as I like you! So, how did they confess to one another before you did?!” Bibi pouted cutely, teasing Tomokazu. “Maybe you don’t like me after all?”
“I…shut up,” Tomokazu groaned. “Tell you what. If we survive this, I will bring you on a date. Sound good?”
“Fine. I accept,” Bibi smirked, flicking her hair dramatically. Wisteria stifled a laugh, but immediately became focused.
“It’s time, guys. No more wasting time. At any moment, those so called ‘heroes’ will find the Love Crystal, and ruin the lives of so many innocent people,” Wisteria said with determination, cracking her knuckles. The other two followed suit, and they began walking towards the main debris field, the drone with the camera broadcasting to the entire world following close behind.
“Time to show the world how strong we really are,” said Wisteria, who had her eyes on Grant, the fire burning in her heart was hotter than ever before.
