Chapter 60:
Engulfed in Darkness - Becoming a Villain in Another World
Zetsubo Onuki was still watching the television screen as a scientist entered the room he was standing in. He wore a smart lab coat, with three pens and a notepad in his breast pocket. He had a small, wispy grey beard and short, brown hair with a small bleak undertone to it. He had wrinkles all around his face, and a pair of dingy glasses were hanging low on his nose. Despite his old appearance, he was only in his late forties. Zetsubo turned around, and addressed him as if he was an old friend.
“Anwir! There you are! Aren’t you excited to see this?” he smiled at his minion, who smiled back right at him. It was clear they had a close bond.
“To see your son finally in action? Of course I wouldn’t miss it. I can’t wait to see how much his strength has increased! I predict by at least two hundred percent!”
“Well, your predictions are never wrong,” Zetsubo sighed. “However, he is a problem.” He pointed to Hiroshi, beaten and battle bruised, on the ground. Hiroshi’s fight was done, and the other three were progressing towards the remnants of the cave, which had long since crumbled into dust.
“Why don’t you just go kill him? You could find that cave easily enough, couldn’t you?” Anwir asked, shifting his glasses higher on his face with a single, wrinkly finger.
“No, that would be the worst thing to happen. Hiroshi is now being treated as a hero. If I kill him, that will make the whole world hate the Gods…and a world without power is really boring. Not to mention, judging from Hiroshi’s power, I think Kage trained him and the two women. That bastard…” he clenched his fist and gritted his teeth. “No, I have to kill Hiroshi when the cameras aren’t on him…wait…Anwir?”
“Yes, Zetsubo?”
“Are the eight Desecrators ready for deployment?”
“Yes, and the ninth will be ready in the next six months…why?”
“Can you change them slightly? Can you make them have Hiroshi’s face?”
“I certainly can, that won’t be a problem,” Anwir smiled. “And do the same for the ninth?”
“No…I know what to do for that one. Thanks, Anwir, you never let me down, do you?” Zetsubo grinned, his face softening. “Sorry, this guy is really stressing me out. I haven’t felt so powerless… not since the God of Darkness…”
Anwir put a hand on Zetsubo’s shoulder.
“It’s alright, Zetsubo. I will just go make adjustments right away,” the scientist then turned on his heel, aiming to walk out of the room.
“You’re the best Anwir…wait!”
“Hmm?”
“Do you not want to watch your daughter fight? I bet she’s so strong now!” he said with forced enthusiasm.
“You know how I feel about Bibi. She’s dead to me,” Anwir hissed, and continued walking out of the room. Zetsubo faced the television screen once more, allowing the action to unfold for the whole world to see.
“Grant!”
Grant stopped in his tracks. A cold shiver resembling death shivered up his spine, even stronger than Hiroshi’s. With Eve’s help, he turned around ever so slowly, to find Wisteria standing there, her blade drawn.
“E-Eve, go, I got this!” Grant said, pushing Eve away from him.
“Hey, wait! You saved me, so now it’s my turn to save you…”
She hardly got enough time to finish her sentence, before a massive explosion blew her off her feet and flung her over fifty feet away. She crashed into a huge piece of rock, hard, and yelled out in agony.
“Oh, shut up! Your sob story and friendship won’t work on us!” Bibi yelled out in anger. “You got this Babe, I’ll take the forest lady, and you take Grant. That sound alright to you?”
“Babe is Hiroshi’s word for me!” Wisteria blushed, but immediately went back to normal as she saw Grant getting to his feet. “Yeah, that’s a plan.”
“Alright!” Bibi screamed out in pure delight as she flew through the air, using her explosive power to launch her forward towards Eve.
Touma Schulz continued searching the rubble for his precious Love Crystal. He flipped over a stone slab that must have weighed a ton and looked under it. Still nothing. He lifted the slab over his head and threw it away in anger.
“They say never meet your heroes,” Tomokazu boldly exclaimed, making his presence known to Schulz. The hero looked up, and made a sadistic laugh.
“Ah, Tomokazu, I haven’t met your father in a while. How is he?”
“He’s good, and I’m going to make him feel a lot better when I kill you stone dead,” Tomokazu growled, letting his anger and manna build up steadily.
“Ho ho, aren’t you feisty? Well, don’t hold back. I want to see how well your training is coming on,” Schulz responded calmy, holding his fists up in a fighting stance. Tomokazu drew his estoc blade, his eyes narrowing in determination.
Finally, Grant got to his feet, and he wasn’t feeling so good. He stomped the ground in anger and cursed under his breath. This was not how his life was supposed to go at all! He wiped the blood from his mouth, looking up at Wisteria. Her mouth curled up in an evil smile.
“What was it you called me? A bitch? Well, I think I’m going to make you mine,” she said, excited to take her revenge.
Her presence was almost exactly like Hiroshi’s.
*QUESTION TIME!!!*
Hi! My name is Alexander! You must know me as Lodestown's Pride and Joy! After sixty chapters, I decided to interview the main cast, and ask them a few questions! First question, “What is your opinion on Hiroshi?”
Hiroshi says – “What do you mean, what’s my opinion on me? I hate myself. End of story. Although, my friends make me feel slightly better about my self-esteem. I think I’m working on it, anyway.”
Wisteria says – “Well, I just recently started dating him. He’s a gentleman and I love him. He has the biggest heart of anyone that I know, and he respects and cares about my dream, and wants it to come true, unlike my last boyfriend. And he’s a realllllly good dancer! He just won’t admit it!” Hiroshi from outside the room – “No, I’m not! Stop lying Babe!” Wisteria – “See, told you! Love you, Oshi!”
Tomokazu says – “He annoys me sometimes. I mean, I try make him my friend, and he makes things so challenging! Yet, I think I understand him now. He’s just a scared, confused guy. He’s a good person under that cold exterior. I think in the future, we will become the best friends.”
Bibi says – “I would be lying if I said I didn’t like him. In fact, I like him a lot. Not like how Wisteria likes him, mind you! But I respect him. And, he did save me from death. I can’t wait for what the future holds for him. He’s…almost like a big brother you love to make fun of…even though I’m older…huh…am I really that old?”
