Chapter 11: Quinary

"How was it?" Drill Sergeant Harvey asked the class as everyone had returned from the gymnasium.

"Pretty boring, Drill Sergeant." Mark told him, "It was just school spirit and our class sucks."

"I mean you guys do suck" Drill Sergeant Harvey told him while looking at the rest of the class.

The rest of the class didn't say anything.

"Alright this time around get into your groups, you guys will be working on a project so that all of you can know each other pretty well." Drill Sergeant Harvey told the class. "Because next week we will start our first official event in which all our your groups will work as a team."

Everyone gathered into their assigned groups.

"So over the weekend you guys are going to work on a project in which what you're group is going to be called and grab a huge paper describing who you guys are, and what's your dreams and goals are. You got it?"

"Yes Drill Sergeant!" The entire class responds.

"Mallory, do you have Gabe, Jillian, and Chelsea's social media accounts?" Anna ask her.

"No?" Mallory responded.

"Then, why don't you go ask them?" Anna tells her.

Gabe told her he only has Twitter and mainly it's to discuss Sonic, Discord, and that he once had Reddit but he felt bored.

Jillian told her she had Instagram and SnapChat.

And Chelsea said she had Twitter, Discord and Instagram.

After all of that was done, the five of them discussed who's house they should meet in.

"I say we should meet at my place, because my family's garage is pretty empty." Chelsea told the rest of the team.

"My big sis Lauren is in this class and I hate to have our project to be worked in our house." Jillian groaned.

"I live in an apartment and my mom will complain about us making noise." Mallory answered.

"I live in an apartment too." Anna also answered.

"I don't really care whether or not I have guests in my house." Gabe answered.

"Ok, Gabe and Chelsea both of you will play Rock, Paper, Scissors to see who's house we're going to." Anna told both of them.

Gabe and Chelsea played Rock, Paper, Scissors 3 times and Gabe won the second and last one.

"Dammit!" Chelsea groaned.

"As I've stated before you're not supposed to tell your parents about anything military related about this class, if we found out any of you told your parents then it puts us in danger with this military school program probably being over." Drill Sergeant Harvey tells the class. "Everyone heard me, right?"

"Yes Drill Sergeant." Everyone yelled.

"What should we call ourselves?" Jillian asked.

"1 Guy , 4 Girls?" Gabe asked.

Mallory, Anna, Jillian, and Chelsea all stared at him with anger.

"Ok, never mind then." Gabe tells them.

"I was thinking of Go because that's the number five in Japanese (Get it because we're a team of five) but I realize it's too simple." Jillian replies.

"How about the Quinary?" Anna suggest.

"What the hell is that?" Gabe asks.

"Since we're the only team of five in the class and since Quinary means containing of five, we should name ourselves that." Anna tells the group.

"Figuring out a team name is hard as carp." Chelsea replies.

"Everything else I'm thinking of is lame, and Quinary looks pretty cool, I guess that will be our name then." Mallory agreeing with Anna.

After waking up the next morning Gabe woked up and cooked himself cereal.

It was time for Saturday morning cartoons, which he watched all the time.

As he was watching he began hearing loud knocking on his door.

Gabe groaned, and walked to the door and opened it to see who was out there.

It was Mallory.

"My mom dropped me off pretty early, sorry if I annoyed you." Mallory said gleefully.

Gabe rolled his eyes and let Mallory in the door.

Mallory looked around Gabe's house, "Whoa I didn't know you had a nice place."

"It's like you've never seen a house before." Gabe told her.

"I have!" Mallory hissed.

"Then why are you acting like it?" Gabe asks.

"I was just complementing your house, sheesh." Mallory told him. "Anyway what's on TV right now?"

"Cartoons." Gabe told her, Gabe was really nervous telling him that he still watches cartoons at his age because she's afraid she'll make fun of it for him.

"Cool, what do you watch?" Mallory asked him.

Gabe was really nervous, "SpongeBob, yes I still watch SpongeBob".

"And that's a bad thing?" Mallory asked him.

"Well if I told some other people at school I still watch it they'll make fun of me." Gabe tells her nervously.

"Who gives a damn. It's not like you can't watch stuff that you used to watch as a kid when you get older." Mallory explains, "My mom still reads children's books for fun."

"Okay, I understand!" Gabe tells her.

"Are there any other cartoons you watch?" Mallory asks.

Gabe explains to Mallory that he watches a lot of cartoons like Family Guy, South Park, Regular Show, Looney Tunes, The Powerpuff Girls, and many others.

"I knew you were into Video Games and anime but I never knew you were also into cartoons?" Mallory told him.

"Like I said, I was too embarrassment to say I still watch shows targeted for children at my age." Gabe replies.

After their conversation both of them watched Looney Tunes reruns until Jillian, Anna, and Chelsea arrived.

After everyone arrived the entire team began to discuss what their plan was for the presentation.

"I can draw all of the presentation if you want me too," Chelsea said.

"Since we're a team of five let's have a Super Sentai like drawing of the 5 of us." Anna explains.

"What's Super Sentai?" Mallory asks.

"You know Power Rangers, right?" Jillian asks her.

"Kind of, I've heard of it but never watched it." Mallory replied.

"Power Ranger is based off that show, Super Sentai has been going on since 1975." Jillian explains.

Jillian explains to Mallory about Super Sentai's history while Anna and Chelsea were figuring out a team logo.

"Take a look at the Kid's Next Door's logo, I think we can use something like that." Chelsea explains to Anna.

"That was inspired by Charlie's Angels, which basically mean we're just using a logo that was inspired by another logo." Anna replied while slapping her hand at her own face.

"How about a television logo? like in Family Guy, since all of us like tv shows." Chelsea suggested.

"I don't exactly know about that, but everyone else, what do you think?" Anna asked the rest of the group.

"I think it's pretty cool, but I suggest the logo being more of one thing each of us like." Gabe replies.

"I'm cool with that." Anna responds.

So each person had one thing that resonated with them for Gabe it was cartoons, for Chelsea it was drawing, for Mallory it was reading, for Anna it was science, and for Jillian it was video games.

Chelsea drew SpongeBob for Gabe, an anime drawing for herself, a worm for Mallory, a mad scientist for Anna, and Pac-Man for Jillian.

"Pac-Man? What gives?" Jillian asks.

"Sorry, but Pac-Man is probably the easiest character for me to draw." Chelsea replies.

Now it's time to discuss what's your goals since we all know each other.

Anna explains that she wants to graduate and attend a science centered college.

Chelsea explains that she wants to make art for a living.

Jillian explains that she wants to play video games for a job.

That just left Mallory and Gabe.

"I honestly have no idea what I want to be after I graduate." Mallory told the rest of the group.

"You like reading, so why don't you become an author?" Gabe asks.

"That's like saying "Hey do you like movies? Then become a director" I just read for fun." Mallory responds while laughing, "But what about you? Since you're the only one that hasn't said anything."

"I honestly have no fricking idea what the hell I want to do at all. But I guess just going to college and that's it." Gabe responds nervously.

"Real classical buddy." Anna responds, "Real classical."
