Chapter 10:
Soldier Clasess
"Trainees, we will be heading to the gymnasium for some school announcements." Senior Drill Sergeant Griffin told us. "It's to talk about expectations for school this year."
All of the us were not happy to hear this because since Class 3-D was a class no student wanted to end up in, and when they would enter in the gym all of them would become the butt of jokes when they appear.
"All of you know what that means, right?" Drill Sergeant Gutiérrez asked.
"Change into our assigned school uniforms, Drill Sergeant." Gina answered him.
"That's correct, Cunningham." Drill Sergeant Gutiérrez told her, "now everyone head to her gender's locker and change yourselves into your school uniforms."
"Yes, Drill Sergeant!" the whole class yelled.
The students ran to the locker of their gender and changed into their assigned school uniforms.
Once everyone arrived back in the classroom everyone walked in a single file line to the gym.
When the finally reach the gym here's what Drill Sergeant Harvey told them:
"Sit wherever you like, don't go too crazy and make a fool of yourselves."
Mallory, Anna, Gabe, Jill, and Chelsea chose to sit together so they could get to know each other better.
"For science let's copy Anna's work since she's the smartest out of all of us." Gabe told the rest of them.
"Shut Up! If you weren't too busy slacking off you might be actually doing well in class." Anna told Gabe.
"Well, what do you want our group to be, then?" Gabe told her.
"I have know idea what the hell we're going to do as a team." Anna groaned.
Chelsea was sketching something while Gabe and Anna were arguing.
"Oh my God! It's those losers from Class 3-D!" one student says as they climbed up the stairs and took Chelsea's sketchbook in the process.
"Hunter, would you stop it!" Chelsea told him, "It's not funny to take a person's notebook like that?"
"You're such a buzzkill you have no idea how to take a joke." Hunter replies.
"Well, what's funny about stealing a sketchbook?" Chelsea asks him.
"It's funny because....uh......your Class stinks." Hunter tells her.
"Wow! my class sucks that's funny. I've never heard that one before. See if you find this funny: Your a-" Chelsea was about to let all of her anger out but Lily stopped her.
"Chelsea, I expected better from you." Lily told her.
"But, Hunter took my notebook away from me and insulted our class." Chelsea told her.
"It's not a good idea to let your anger out, the cycle of revenge is never a good idea." Lily told her.
"Who are you? My mother? Because I expect her to teach me this." Chelsea asked.
"No, I'm not your mother but as class pat- I mean class representative I should lead a perfect example for my classmates." Lily told her. "Hunter give Chelsea back her notebook right now."
"Whatever you say, geez I was just wanting to have a little fun." Hunter muttered after handing Chelsea back her book.
The announcement was starting around this time.
"Good afternoon fellow Rabbits." It was the school Principal Sheldon McFarland as he was eagerly happy to speak for. "Today we've got some news to share."
The gym was filled with "Yeahs!" all around.
"You see, our school started out as a military school then it evolved into a regular school because this was the closest school available in this town. This school is growing in how much people it's having so someone decided to place all of the students in 4 classes starting from their Junior year the undesirable students are put in the "D" classes."
The entire gymnasium was looking about both Class 3-D and Class 4-D who were the Junior and Senior undesirable students. A couple of students who weren't from those classes snickered at them.
One of the freshman told one of their friends, "When I reach my Junior year I don't want to be put in their class."
"Me neither, who who ever want to be in that godforsaken classroom?" the friend replied.
Class 3-D as a whole was bored listening. Chelsea was busy drawing in her sketchbook, Mark was playing on his Switch, and Mallory was reading manga.
Principal McFarland meanwhile was blabbing about how he wants the school to receive awards and wants this school to become the most elite school in the world.
"..because if you don't. You will become like them." Principal McFarland points to both Class 3-D and Class 4-D. "A bunch of nobodies with no future ahead of them. Most likely will become homeless lowlives who will work at a place like McDonald's for the rest of their lives. Those are the Eisenhower Scraps. Don't be like them!"
The classes that weren't Class 3-D or Class 4-D were clapping hard.
Class 3-D didn't really had any motion to care what the school in general thought of them since most of them were already rejected by the school but Emily did as she had tears in her eyes after seeing the entire school agreeing with Principal McFarland that they were "scraps".
Emily used to be one of the most popular and richest kids in school, but everything changed when a scandal happen to her family and so as a result her family was forced to sold off they're expensive stuff and live in a normal house and have normal jobs. This hugely ruined Emily's life as she went from one of the most popular kids to an afterthought after that. To make up for it Emily has to cope and act as if she was still a popular kid but treating the rest of her classmates as trash as a result.
"Emily, is it okay if I asked you what's going on?" Lily asked her.
"No, I'm okay!" Emily lied to her as she try to smile when she said this.
Lily knew she was lying and told her, "Do I look like I'm stupid? I can see you crying."
"You know sometimes people cry when they're happy like if someone wins a championship." Emily snaps back at her.
"Which you're not doing. It's obvious you're upset about what Principal McFarland said about our class, and I get it. You hate being in this class. But I do as well, but sometimes we have to accept the fate we're in right now." Lily told Emily.
"Easy for you to say." Emily told her, "You don't even know what it's like to be in my place. Being born in a rich family and then having to live a life like an Average Joe. I hate it."
"While I'm not necessarily rich like you were. My Dad was a respected firefighter while my mom was respected doctor. So they're reaction to me being in this class wasn't the best especially because my older sister Violet was in both Class 3-A and Class 4-A. So to my parents, I was a disappointment. But, despite feeling like I disappointment to my parents, I wanted to prove them wrong, so the hellish first 72 hours of class I worked my butt off in order for me to become the class leader." Lily told Emily.
Emily gave an "I don't care face" to Lily.
"Well, if you get kicked out on school. That's your fault, I guess." Lily sighed.
"That's it for the announcements, fellow Rabbits. Have a Excellent rest of the day." Principal McFarland told all of the students at the gymnasium.
Everyone head back to their classes, Emily received a familiar tap somewhere.
"Lisa? is that you?" Emily asked.
"Yeah, Emily." Lisa told her. "How's it like being in a loser filled class?"
"Well..uh...most of them are the worst, they're straight up annoying, and uh...grind my gears." Emily lied, "They're nothing but a bunch of morons."
"Well sucks to be you. Enjoy being in a class with those demons." Lisa tells her.
"But what about our friendship? We've been best friends since Kindergarten." Emily asked.
"You're with losers now which makes you a loser. So I don't want to be seen talking to you." Lisa responds.
Emily was sobbing and ran into the hallway as a result of this.
"What a baby!" Lisa laughed.
Mallory was in the hallway seeing Emily crying.
"Emily are you alright?" Mallory asked.
"I'm alright, why do you care?" Emily asked.
"Because, you looked like you were crying." Mallory responded.
"Mind your own business, ok?" Emily yelled.
"Fine, I was trying to see if you're alright." Mallory groaned
Both of them rushed back to Class 3-D after they're talk
