Chapter 1: Ai’s gang..er group

My name is Kiko Kumeno and the end of the world happened yesterday, A asteroid killed every citizen on earth, except for me of course…I survived and I thought I was the only one until today…

It all started this morning, when I was eating some rice balls for breakfast, someone knocked on my door and I was immediately spooked since I thought I was the only person on earth.

“Hello Kiko,” she said. “How do you know my name?” I asked. “I knew you, before the asteroid hit the earth, you were at my school,” She said. 

“Oh, well what are you doing here?” I asked. “I wanted to propose something for you. I am part of a gang…er, group of all the survivors, and we wanted you to join us,” Ai said. 

“There are more survivors?” I asked. “Yes, now come on,” Ai said. “I don’t think I would like to join.” I said. 

“What do you mean?” Ai asked, her blue eyes glinting in the light. “Well, I don’t want to join a group very much, I would rather survive by myself,” I said. 

“Well, think about it before you decide. We want to bring back life to the world and need your help to do that,” Ai said, determinedly, but there was a hint of desperation in her tone. 

“Okay, fine,” I said, “where do you all meet?” I asked. “Oh, we meet in a building nearby, you can live with all of us,” Ai said. 

“Just think, we will be roomates, have girls nights, watch TV,” Ai said, what happened to that save the world essence she had earlier? 

Me and Ai walked around the block briskly until we found a building, “this is the one,” Ai said. It looked sort of sad on the outside but when me and Ai walked inside, it looked totally the opposite! It had lights, and a TV and a…teen boy at the entrance.

“Hello, my name is Hinata Shikamura and I heard your name was Kiko? Right?” He asked. “Yes, that is my name, how did you know?” I asked. 

“Oh, Ai told me she would go and recruit you and I know how good Ai is at impressing people,” Hinata said, Ai smiled but then she looked a little sad. I didn’t know why but I felt a pang of sympathy for her. 

“Would you like to meet the rest of the gang downstairs?” Hinata asked. “Sure,” I said. 

I walked out of bed and followed Hinata downstairs, both of us then walked into a big living room with two couches adjacent to each other, the couches had a lot of people sitting on them. 

“This is Kiko! She is the new member of our survival ga-“ Hinata said before getting interrupted. “Yeah, you told us about her a million times when Hitori brought her here,” Ai said, she was sitting on a chair next to one of the couches. 

Hinata was blushing and he glared at Ai. Ai just smirked. “Kiko, this is Ai, you met her already, and this is Miyoko,” Hinata said, pointing to a girl with black hair and a long sweater. 

Miyoko was glaring at Hinata and me, “why is she so angry?” I asked Hinata in a whisper. “She hates this place  and tried to escape here several times but each time our boss, Hitori, stopped her,” Hinata said. 

I didn’t know why Miyoko hated this place so much, it SEEMED nice and so did the people in it. 

I turned around and saw a boy watching TV, he turned around and I almost screamed at the sight of huge eyebags under his eyes. “That is Wei, he is the definition of Ipad kid,” Hinata said,” he gets 5 hours of sleep daily”

I was shocked that he got that little sleep but I didn’t want to judge him.
