Dirt and soap

“Woah! What is this?!”

“It’s a call, even if you go really far away, I can still communicate with you, think it as telepathy”

“That sounds surreal, and anyone can cast this magic?”

“Yeah, even though it’s not magic but yes, anyone can”

“Wonderful…”

“Now, back to the kitchen task, go ahead and go there, I think you already know where it is”

“I think so, there is a ton of plates so it must be here”

“Yeah, you would need to clean it thought, there sure is a ton of dust”

“Again?”

“What do you mean?... Don’t tell me… you clean it already!”

“Yeah, I have cleaned everything, do not worry”

“Well… show me what did you use to clean”

“Uhm…. I do not know how to read this, let me go with you with them”

Evelyn came back in no time with some cleaning items, liquid dish soap and bleach.

“How much of this did you use?”

“Just a few of this—Evelyn pointed at the bleach.”

“I see, well it should be fine, how did you know that you needed to use this thought?”

“Just instinct, it smells similar to the ones I use to clean my dishes”

“Mmmh… well, go to the kitchen again, I will tell you how to use it”

Evelyn nodded and went to the kitchen again.

“You should see a big box with some buttons, right?”

“Yes”

“Okay, this is going to be just a test so don’t be scared, this is a stove and it works with electricity like everything in this house”

“Lighting?... I only noticed it by now but you are right… amazing….”

“If you twist the button it should start to heat a part of the stove, try it”

Evelyn didn’t say a word but I thought she was nodding.

“The panel is going red”

“Alright, now put it how it used to be”

I heard a click and Evelyn stayed silent for a few seconds

“It started to lose heat…”

“Alright, come back here”

Evelyn came back and I hung out.

“Great, that’s the fire if you put a large pan in there it would act as the fire without all the flame”

“Incredible…”

Evelyn was really excited for everything she was seeing and learning about.

“The knifes, plates and everything else you already know where they are since you clean the kitchen already, is incredible that you didn’t mistake anything, and that some products are still good”

“Well, I assume some things but thank you”

The door rang again and after a bit Evelyn opened but there was nobody in there, just a box.

“What is this, Azura?”

“Oh, that has to be the clothes”

Evelyn started to open the box and she put the clothes in the bed.

“They send us extra clothes?”

“Oh, I think those are the undies, I guess you would like to change those too”

Evelyn nodded a bit embarrassed and put everything in the box.

“So, where do I take a bath?”

“Is turning left from this room, and then to the right there’s a door”

“Great”.

The girl held my arm and then carry me to the bathroom with her”

“Is this?”

“WHAT THE HELL?! I DIDN’T TELL YOU TO CARRY ME AROUND!”

I bite my lip and hold the knob of the door but the girl stopped me.

“I know this would make you mad and I am sorry for it, but you stink, you really stink, this is the first step, taking a bath”

I look to anywhere and my eyes finished looking at the floor and I nodded

“I don’t have problems in being here… is the most tolerable place in the house where I can stay… but I gave up on cleaning myself a long time ago… I did change clothes and use water but… I knew that it wasn’t enough…”

The girl stared at me and pointed at the bathtub.

“Tell me how to use it”

“Well… you just need to spin one of these and one should pour hot water and the other cold, to clean yourself you need to use soap… although this one isn’t good anymore… maybe there’s one down here”

I searched on the shelf below the sink, I took a bar of soup and then pointed at the shampoos.

“This one is for your body and the other for your hair, you use one of these sponges, and clean yourself”

“Everything inside the big tub?”

“Oh no, you clean yourself first outside in this little seat”

I took a pink seat that was just a few centimeters above the floor

“I think I got it… the bathtub already filled”

“Oh sorry”

The moment I turned around to close the water I saw the arms of the girl above me and later a big splash of water hit my entire body, the girl ran away and I saw myself in the mirror all soaking wet.

I couldn’t help but smile while I took my clothes off, I started to bathe and saw all the dark water go into the drain, I could feel how badly my hair was and how parts of dirt were stuck in my body more than others.

“I’m surprised I didn’t catch a disease… or maybe I have…”

The moment I took the shower handle and let all the soap and shampoo all of my body I entered the tub, I looked at all the fog around the room and sigh.

Mom, Dad… if you see me, I’m sorry…

I closed my eyes and after a few minutes I left the tub and made the water go in the drain and started to fill it again, I took a towel and started to clean myself and when I opened the door, Evelyn was there.

“Hey”

“Here… I took the clothes”

Evelyn handed me clothes, a t-shirt, sport pants and boxers of course.

“Thanks, the tub is getting filled so take your time”

Evelyn smiled at me while I left my room, but before entering I saw the bags with the groceries that we ordered.

Being outside my room still made my chest hurt and I tried not to look that much, so the moment I opened my door, I put my clothes on the desk and started to dress again.

I throw myself in the bed and I notice the odor of something smelling bad, it was my basket of clothes, I look at it and smell myself.

“Now that I smell better, I notice how bad other things smell…”

I waited for a bit until Evelyn got out of the bath and she entered my room, she was already dressed with the clothes we ordered.

She had a black top with the texture of a sweater and a white medium long skirt with some thighs, her hair was trying to cover her face even though it was a bit short she looked very feminine.

“You look outstanding…”

“Wasn't the entire point of this having me not being standing out?”

“Yeah, but this way you will stand out for your beauty instead of confuse you for some cosplayer or something”

“Cosplayer?”

“Don’t worry about that… Hey, Evelyn”

“What is it?”

“You knew I stank badly, and the entire place was surely having a tremendous bad odor, how did you handle all of that?”

“Well, I am an adventurer, did not I tell you about that? I have been in worse scenarios with less pleasant aromas that the ones you had, but still, I do not want to be in a place where it stinks”

“Makes sense, that’s awesome… I am really sorry, I didn’t know how bad it was… I am lying, I knew how bad it was but since I stink too, I didn’t give it too much thought to it, garbage belongs with the garbage, and I am garbage after all”

“That is not true! I am sick of hearing you wimp like a child, are you not a man?”

“Yes, I am”

“Then, you know that you have more value than that”

Evelyn punch softly my chest

“There are moments where everyone cries and laments, but you can keep that feeling forever, you need to go forward and punch the sadness with everything you can, and if you can do it, I will help you in doing it”

I look down and smile at Evelyn, hugging her and closing my arms with all my strength.

“You can take it easy… sorry to be so abrupt but that is the best way I know, Azura”

“It’s okay, I understand”

Evelyn looked at me with a big smile and I smiled for a bit, she then got up and pointed at me while taking the phone.

“I will call you if I have problems with the kitchen, I will prepare something to really fill our stomachs.

“I can’t wait for it, I’ll be in touch… but did you know how to call?”

Evelyn stayed silent and went to the kitchen.
