Not the best

I look at Evelyn in the eyes, nod and keep myself in silent just observing the stars, and before I knew it, the night ended and I was in my bed, looking at the ceiling, slowly opening my eyes while something was at my side.

Evelyn was sleeping at the side of my bed, she looked gorgeous, with shiny eyelashes and lips, I try to touch her cheek but I restrain from myself and get up of bed and look at my phone, some people were already asking questions about the photo, and others were making just nonsensical theories, although, nothing was really nonsensical coming from what happened.

But nothing seems to have me closer to what I wanted, and to be honest I wasn’t sure of what I was searching for, I saw the time, marking 7:00AM I wasn’t awake that early before, or rather, I never noticed the day, the curtains remain open all the night so the process of taking the sunlight into my eyes wasn’t so bad.

I sat down on my computer and kept trying to figure out the route that I discovered. I went to the game’s files and tried to look at something but the only thing was the images with the symbols.

Maybe I could print them to see if there’s something I am missing out…

There wasn’t anything to do now so I just kept scrolling around, putting some water to boil and two cups of instant noodles.

The pizza from yesterday was tasty… it has time since I eat something that wasn’t something that wasn’t instant noodles, so it was really delicious… but for now, I will just stay in here

And without noticing an hour passed, and the only way I noticed it was because Evelyn woke up, she stretched and looked at me.

“Ah, good morning, Azura”

“Morning, Evelyn”

“What are you doing?”

“I’m just searching if there’s something I can discover on my own, like I said the place where I post the information wasn’t so useful right now so I’m just discussing it and making my own theories”

“Are any of those close?”

“I don’t think so, it’s hard to think about since we don’t have anything in here for that”

“I comprehend… I did not say it yesterday but the thing that you use is very useful, is that the magic of this world?”

“You can say that”

“We do not have a way to communicate to others other than letters and to go for food we need to go to the place”

“Right”

“And the clothes that are coming, normally you need to ask for the service of a tailor to be made, your world is really wonderful”

“I don’t really know how to respond to that, to me this world is a mere boring and stupid place to live and when you tell me that… I don’t know…”

“I do not hate my world but I wish it could be like this, I think both worlds have bad and good things, and I want to go back to mine. Maybe if you find something you like this world maybe you can see the way I see it even if I am a strange in these lands”

“Perhaps you are right…”

The girl sat on the edge of the bed and I poured hot water in the cup of noodles and waited a few minutes, then I gave her the cup with a fork.

“Careful, it’s hot”

The girl nodded and started eating the noodles. She was making the same expressions and noises that when she tasted the pizza, she was delighted by the flavor of the food.

“You really have some strong flavor food”

“Yeah, but I hope you don’t stay here for that long, I don’t know how to cock a proper meal so you will be in the same bad conditions as I”

“Then I may change a thing or two before I leave, do you have any fruit or vegetables?”

“Unfortunately, I don’t have any, the “food storage” is empty and this is all I have, can you cook?”

“You are not the sister of four little brothers without knowing how to cook, if you tell me what you use to cook and have the ingredients, I can do something”

“That would involve getting out of the room…”

The girl finished eating and left the cup in the trash bin. The fork was disposable so it didn’t matter either, she looked at me while resting her arm on her knee, touching her cheek with her hand.

“Is something bothering outside, Azura?”

“I… cannot tell you… not right now… I’m not ready…”

Evelyn looked at me with a sad face, she stood up and touched my arm.

“That will be one of my works then, I want you to leave this room, and I’m going to make you do it”

“Eh?”

Evelyn lifted me up and went to the living room.

“You are lighter than I thought, you really need to eat something more… Azura?”

I was shaking in the arms of Evelyn, my teeth made noises because they were being touched by the top and bottom part, I had my eyes closed and Evelyn returned to my room, leaving in my chair.

“Sorry… You are in your room again… you can open your eyes”

I swallowed saliva and opened my eyes slowly, I took some deep breaths and hit my knees.

“I’m pathetic I know”

“I never say or thought about that”

“But I am… I am…”

Evelyn sighed and she patted my head while watching me in the eyes.

“If you can act so angry and say those type of things, it means that something that you cannot control is interfering with the things you want to do”

I didn’t say a word and clench my teeth.

“What would you know?”

I don’t want to say that

“You don’t even know me, don’t go thinking you can change things just by your liking”

I stand up and pointed at Evelyn

“I WANT YOU TO STAY O-“

Evelyn hugged me and stroked my hair while I wanted to leave.

“Leave me…”

“No”

“Dammit, you are really strong…”

“That is right, and I will not stop hugging you until you calm down”

“That’s… not fair…”

I hug Evelyn and rest my head in her abdomen, closing my eyes and I heard her stomach rumbling, she stopped stroking my hair and when I look up, she had the reddest face I have ever seen, I smile and she stopped hugging me and turn around

I look at my phone and show her the same app but this time for groceries.

“Pick up something and try to cook, I will tell you the directions but I will not go out of this room”

Evelyn sighed and nodded, she took my phone, it was cute to watch, she was being entertained just by picking items to cook and sometimes she moved her finger up and down just to see how the images changed

At the end, she took meat, carrots, onions, eggs, and a ton of things along with bread and wine.

“What are you planning to cook?”

“Meat stew”

“I see”

“But it is incredible really, I cannot stop being impressed by the way things work in here, and I have not even been outside”

“You are planning on going out?”

“Yeah, and you will be my knight”

“I don’t think I am qualifying to be a knight… and I am not going outside either”

“I will make you go then, I know things cannot be the way I want, but I want to try, you are not a bad person, Azura, you are just in a situation that led you being in here, and I want to be the person to push you forward”

I smile and look down, a ton of memories and voices came to my mind “the way you are living are a waste”, “you are just disappointing your parents”, “hope they could see how miserable your son is”, and other things, this is the first time that I heard something like that.

I couldn’t stop the tears coming out and I tried to clean them as fast as possible but then Evelyn took my hands and patted my head.

“Do not hold it, you will only hurt yourself”

I smiled and the tears stopped after a few seconds.

“Thank you, but I can’t be crying all the time, sorry for yelling at you… my feelings get the best of me sometimes”

“Is the same for everyone, do not worry”

“Thank you, Evelyn…”

I went to my computer and opened an app, I handed the phone to Evelyn and called her from there.

“Press the green button”

“Uh, oh, yes!”

Evelyn pressed the phone and moved my hand to my ear and she put the phone in her ear while I put my headphones on.

“I will guide you like this to the kitchen”
