Chapter 10:
Save a cat, but be your girl S1
Episode 8 – Prologue
After a night that should have been a moment of peace for the three of them, nightmares returned to swallow them whole.
After the escape that brought them to the forest, the tent, and a peaceful starry night… they were hunted again by the Vulture Team.
Attacked, subdued, and taken to the dark laboratory that once stole Shin’s life.
After a series of brutal experiments that nearly claimed Shin’s life again, they were forced to witness the birth of something that shouldn’t exist—a small creature, born from a mix of Shin and Soutarou’s blood, inserted into illegal cell networks that should never have developed.
A tiny body, cat-like ears, and golden eyes—she didn’t just live, but spoke immediately.
Calling them: Mama.
And Papa.
Soutarou and Shin touched her… and found her body real, warm, and breathing. She had soft fur, living skin, and a gaze that couldn’t be ignored.
Now, Akuro stood on the side of the ruined room. The scientist responsible lay unconscious. Green acid still dripped from broken walls. That room of experiments was now silent… only the breathing of that small child could be heard—peaceful, though born from chaos.
And when they looked into the child’s innocent eyes, eyes that knew nothing of the world… one question echoed in their hearts:
“Can we really leave her, after knowing… she lives because of us?”
---
#1
(The child is still asleep in Soutarou’s arms, her head resting on his shoulder with light breaths. Her body feels warm, soft, and eerily calm compared to her horrific origin.)
Shin:
(softly)
"...She’s sleeping... like nothing happened."
Soutarou:
(looking at her face)
"Even though she was born among blood and acid... now she looks like... an ordinary child."
Akuro:
(leaning against the wall, arms crossed)
"That’s what makes it crazier. Born from experiments... but no trace of destruction in her behavior."
Shin:
(kneeling in front of Soutarou)
"Does she... really not know anything?"
Soutarou:
"Looks like it. But... she absorbs things around her really fast. Look, she can already talk. Call us mama, papa..."
Akuro:
(flatly)
"That’s not normal ability. That’s instinct programming."
Shin:
"...Instinct or not... she doesn’t look dangerous."
Soutarou:
"Not yet. But if she grows... with our combined powers..."
Akuro:
(turning away, cold tone)
"She could become a living weapon. You both realize that, right?"
Shin:
(pause)
"...But she could also... become a child."
Soutarou:
(surprised, turning to Shin)
"Shin..."
Shin:
(continuing to look at the child)
"...She didn’t ask to be born. But now she’s here. And she chose... us."
Soutarou:
(soft voice)
"...That child..."
(eyes still on the sleeping little creature)
"...She’s not just an experiment result."
Akuro:
(standing upright, sharp gaze)
"The question now is… what do you want to do… with that child?"
---
#2
Soutarou:
(silent for a moment, then exhales deeply)
"Logically speaking... she’s a mix of my blood and Shin’s. Her body is alive, and... she calls us her parents."
Shin:
(nods slowly, face slightly red)
"...And biologically... she does look like me. Her eyes, her fur... even her posture."
Soutarou:
"So, yeah... I’ll take care of her."
Shin:
"Me too. No matter how strange the way she was born... she’s now... part of us."
Akuro:
(walking slowly toward them, sharp tone)
"Do you even realize the risk of that decision? You’re not just caring—you’re stamping: this is our child."
Soutarou:
"Yeah, I know. And I still choose it."
Shin:
"...Me too. If I leave her... I’m not human."
Akuro:
(voice lower)
"I’m not asking about your feelings. I’m asking... are you ready to be ‘parents’ to a creature born from an experiment?"
Soutarou:
"...I’ve loved animals since I was little. I brought home stray cats, limping dogs, birds with broken wings. If now... I’m bringing home an experimental kitten... well, it’s just an extension of that habit."
Shin:
(looking down slightly)
"And me... I don’t know why... but since she called me 'mama'... I can’t let go of that voice."
Akuro:
"So you admit it?"
Soutarou:
(clearing throat)
"...Yeah. I admit it."
Shin:
(shyly)
"Me too... I admit it."
Akuro:
(sighs, looking at them half-confused, half-resigned)
"...You two... are way too human for this world."
#3
Soutarou:
(looking at the child still asleep in his arms, then smiles faintly)
"From now on... we'll be your parents."
Shin:
(standing beside him, face red but doesn't look away)
"Yeah... from now on, you have a mommy... and a daddy."
Child:
(wiggling ears slightly, then opens eyes a little)
"...Mommy...? Daddy...?"
Soutarou:
(reflexively responds)
"Yes, Daddy's here."
Shin:
(gently)
"And Mommy too."
Akuro:
(pauses, then raises hand)
"Bro... I didn’t mishear that, right?"
Soutarou:
(realizing, quickly)
"I... I mean... it just kinda came out!"
Shin:
(face turning red, covering her cheeks with her hands)
"Why did my mouth... just say that..."
Akuro:
(raises an eyebrow, half-mocking smile)
"Congrats, you're officially a weird couple with an instant kid."
Child:
(smiling softly, hugging Soutarou’s neck)
"...Mommy... Daddy..."
Soutarou & Shin:
(in unison, slight panic)
"Oh no..."
---
4
Akuro:
(standing, leaning casually against the wall, arms crossed, smirk on his face)
"So... you two are official now? Mommy. Daddy. When's the wedding?"
Soutarou:
(quickly)
"No! That’s not what this is!"
Shin:
(blushing deeply)
"We're not... it's just... because she called us that!"
Akuro:
"Ah, yeah yeah... just because she called you that. But usually, when there’s a kid, something comes before it, right?"
Soutarou:
"I DIDN’T DO ANYTHING!"
Shin:
(blushing even more, bowing deeply)
"I... I haven’t even... I mean...!"
Akuro:
(short laugh)
"Haha! Relax, relax. I was just testing your reactions."
Soutarou:
(irritated)
"Well our reaction is clear—total panic!"
Akuro:
(walks closer, teasing tone softening slightly)
"But... come on, admit it... this is all happening kinda fast for us, huh?"
Shin:
(softly, still red)
"...Way too fast..."
Soutarou:
"...But it already happened..."
Akuro:
(gently pats the child's head)
"And she... she's a sweet kid. But... I think we’re still ten years too young to be parents."
Soutarou:
"...Yeah... that too."
Shin:
"...But now, we can’t pretend she doesn’t exist."
---
5
Child:
(smiling wide at Soutarou)
"Daddy~!"
Soutarou:
(awkward but sincere smile)
"Yeah, Daddy’s here."
Child:
(looks at Shin, then hugs her leg)
"Mommy... smells nice..."
Shin:
(embarrassed and confused)
"E-eh... yeah... Mommy's here too."
Child:
(then turns to Akuro, tilting head, confused)
"...You... who?"
Akuro:
(silent, expression freezes)
"M-me...?"
Child:
"Daddy’s done... Mommy too... you... hmm..."
Soutarou:
(trying not to laugh)
"Oh boy... this one’s a tough question."
Shin:
(quietly, glancing at Akuro)
"I'm curious too... what will she call you..."
Child:
(keeps staring at Akuro, innocent expression)
"...Big Cat?"
Akuro:
(staring blankly ahead, slowly backing into a corner)
"...I'm... just a shadow..."
Soutarou:
"Akuro... what’s wrong...?"
Akuro:
(dramatic voice, sitting in the corner)
"I have no place in this absurd family dynamic..."
Shin:
"Oh no... he’s actually down..."
Child:
(thinking hard, then smiling again)
"...Then you’re... Fluffy Big?"
Akuro:
(slumps lower, staring at the floor)
"...I give up."
---
6
(Akuro is still sitting in the corner, contemplating his existence as “Fluffy Big”, when suddenly his body begins to glow faintly. The pendant around his neck dims, and in an instant—FLASH—he transforms back into his hawk form, flapping once before landing softly on the floor.)
Child:
(watching the transformation, blinks)
"...Huh?"
Soutarou:
(raises eyebrow)
"Ah... ran out of mana again, huh."
Shin:
(slightly stunned)
"...How does it always happen at the perfect timing..."
Child:
(slowly approaches Akuro, kneeling)
"...Fluffy Big... became... Fluffy Small?"
Akuro:
(flaps wings slowly, bowing like he’s given up)
"Kreek."
Soutarou:
(trying not to laugh)
"He... he can’t talk. Hawks don’t have human voices at this stage."
Shin:
"But his expression... still looks like someone who's been slammed by reality."
Child:
(sits in front of Akuro, innocent face)
"...You’re... Fluffy Small now... but still you?"
Akuro:
(nods slowly, wings slightly lifting)
Child:
(big smile)
"Hehe... you’re cute when small."
Soutarou:
"I’m not sure he likes being called cute in that form."
Shin:
"...But honestly, he is cute."
Akuro:
(slowly turns away... faces the wall again)
"KREEK."
---
7
(The scientist previously collapsed in the corner begins to move slowly. His fingers twitch, then his body rises halfway with a confused and pained expression. As soon as his eyes fully open, his gaze lands directly on the small hybrid child in the middle of the room.)
Scientist:
"...N-no way... she’s still alive...? Stable...?"
(Soutarou immediately catches the movement and stands tall, his expression sharp. He raises a hand, energy blazing in his palm. In an instant, a massive fireball forms.)
Soutarou:
"NO MORE EXPERIMENTS!!"
FWOOSH!!
(The fireball rockets forward and hits the scientist square in the chest before he can fully rise. His body is thrown back, slamming into the wall—this time completely still. Unconscious... for the second time.)
Child:
(stunned, eyes wide)
"Daddy... threw fire...!"
Shin:
"Y-yeah... that’s Daddy when he’s mad..."
Akuro:
(still in hawk form, nods slowly toward the scientist)
"Kreeek."
Soutarou:
(breathing heavily, lowering his hand)
"I won’t let him lay eyes on her again. Not even once."
---
8
(Once the tension begins to fade, the pendant around Akuro's neck starts to glow again. Red sparks of energy swirl around the small hawk’s body. In a short flash of light, his form enlarges—transforming back into human form. He stands tall, breathing deeply.)
Akuro:
(stretching shoulders, exhales)
"Mana’s back. Finally."
Soutarou:
(turns around)
"Welcome back, Fluffy Big."
Akuro:
(flat stare)
"I haven’t forgotten. And neither has she."
Child:
(smiling)
"Fluffy Big is back~!"
Shin:
"Great, now we’re complete again—"
WEEEOO WEEEOO WEEEOO!!
(Suddenly a loud alarm blares through the room, red lights begin flashing in the ceiling corners. A mechanical voice echoes from the security system, announcing an emergency warning.)
Soutarou:
"What now?!"
Shin:
(startled)
"Could it be... the system detected us?"
Akuro:
(rushing toward the unconscious scientist)
"Wait..."
(Akuro kneels, picking something from the scientist’s hand—a small phone with a cracked screen. A red light is glowing from the emergency button in the corner.)
Akuro:
"...He managed to hit the emergency button. But the signal just went through now."
Soutarou:
"Which means... this place has already sent for backup?"
Shin:
"...We have to get out. Now."
Child:
(whispers softly)
"...Someone’s coming?"
Soutarou:
(grabs Shin’s hand tightly)
"Yes. And we won’t let them touch you."
---
9
Soutarou:
"Sorry, bro, but I’ve got a plan!"
Akuro:
(raises eyebrow)
"Huh? What plan—"
(Before Akuro can finish, Soutarou quickly grabs the pendant from his neck and yanks it off.)
Akuro:
"Hey!! That’s my pendant—!"
Soutarou:
"I need fast mana regen. Otherwise, this teleport’s gonna fail."
Shin:
(surprised)
"You... want to teleport? But that takes a crazy amount of mana!"
Soutarou:
"It’s the only way we get out of here alive."
(The next moment, Soutarou places his palm on the floor, eyes closed. The pendant pulses rapidly, channeling mana into his body. Light gathers beneath their feet, forming a complex magic circle glowing bright blue.)
Child:
(staring at the circle below, in awe)
"...Big round light..."
Akuro:
(sighing, resigned)
"If we don’t melt halfway through, I’ll get mad after we arrive."
Soutarou:
"Fifteen second delay. We have to hold on."
BIP-BIP-BIP!
(Heavy footsteps echo from the hallway—heavily armed hunters begin to appear at the forcibly opened door.)
Hunter 1:
"Target detected—teleport circle active! STOP THEM!"
Soutarou:
(shouts)
"NOW!"
FWWWWOOOMMM!
(Light engulfs them all, and in an instant, the four of them vanish from the room—leaving behind a trail of lingering magic and furious glares from the hunters.)
—WHOOSH!
(They appear in an open field, not far from the charred remains of Soutarou’s house. Cold air greets them, the night is calm again, and damp grass surrounds them.)
Shin:
(kneeling, gasping)
"...We... made it...?"
Soutarou:
(falls sitting, drenched in sweat)
"...For now... yeah."
Akuro:
(eyeing the pendant now on Soutarou’s neck)
"...You drank my mana without asking... and now I want to pass out."
Child:
(standing among them, smiling softly)
"...Daddy... was so cool..."
---
10
(Just after arriving at the field, Akuro’s body begins trembling lightly. The pendant Soutarou had worn no longer provides energy, and within seconds...)
FLASH!
(Akuro turns back into a small hawk, falling gently to the ground with wings spread out.)
Soutarou:
(breathing heavily, looking at Akuro)
"...Sorry, bro... here."
(Soutarou removes the pendant and quickly puts it back around Akuro’s neck. A bluish-purple light begins to pulse again.)
Shin:
(half-standing, holding her side)
"I-I... still feel sore..."
Soutarou:
(concerned)
"Shin? Where does it hurt?"
Shin:
"...Back muscles... chest... maybe that injection’s effects haven’t worn off..."
Akuro:
(raises head in hawk form, then begins to glow again)
FWOOSH!
(Akuro stands in human form again, still a bit unsteady, but stable.)
Akuro:
"Ugh... I hate flipping between forms like this..."
Soutarou:
"That regen mana’s really strong now?"
Akuro:
"This pendant’s perfect for me. But it’d be more perfect if it wasn’t stolen suddenly."
Shin:
(smiling weakly)
"We made it out... so don’t be mad just yet..."
Child:
(hops beside Shin, looking at her worriedly)
"...Mommy hurt?"
Shin:
(surprised for a second, then smiles gently)
"Yeah, Mommy’s just a little sore... but not badly."
Soutarou:
(stands slowly, looking at Shin)
"If you can’t walk, I’ll carry you."
Shin:
(embarrassed)
"I... I can still stand on my own."
Akuro:
"If you fall, I’m not catching you. We’ve had enough drama for one night."
Shin:
(jokingly)
"You should be the one carried, Fluffy Big."
Child:
(small laugh)
"Hehehe... Fluffy Big carry Mommy?"
Akuro:
(sharp glare)
"I regret living every time you call me that."
Soutarou:
"Guys... we’re still outside, no shelter, and there’s a good chance they’ll come looking for us again."
Akuro:
"Yeah, but at least we’re far from that crazy lab."
Shin:
(holding the child’s hand)
"...And she’s with us."
Child:
(looks at the sky, then at the three of them)
"...Can we sleep again like by the river?"
Soutarou:
(smiling softly)
"...Maybe... but this time, we guard tighter."
Akuro:
"And make sure no more ‘mixed-blood splashes’ create new life again."
Soutarou:
(raises hand)
"Fully agree."
#11
(Shin tries to stand up slowly. Her hand grips Soutarou’s arm tightly for support, but her legs tremble, and her body refuses to stand straight. Her breathing is heavy, cold sweat forming on her forehead.)
Shin:
“…Aghh… I can’t…”
Soutarou:
(quickly supporting from the other side)
“I’ve got you… just take it slow, okay?”
Shin:
(small groan, her body swaying)
“My legs… the muscles… burning so much…”
Akuro:
(standing nearby, alert)
“That’s the lab injection effect. A weakening compound. It can last for hours.”
Soutarou:
(raising his hand, a soft light forming in his palm)
“I’ll try healing. Maybe it’ll help.”
(A healing spell activates, blue light flowing into Shin’s body. But… no significant effect. The pain remains, even spreading slightly to her lower back.)
Shin:
(weakly shocked)
“…It’s not working…”
Soutarou:
(frowning, worried)
“Your tissues… they’re still locked by that substance. This isn’t a normal injury…”
Akuro:
“She needs total rest. If she forces herself, the effects could be permanent.”
Soutarou:
(quickly thinking, then turning to the wooden debris near the house ruins)
“I’ll make a makeshift raft. We’ll carry her slowly to the riverbank, and camp there again.”
Shin:
“…Sorry… I’m being a burden…”
Soutarou:
“Don’t apologize. You’re not a burden, Shin.”
Child:
(sitting beside Shin, holding her hand with tiny fingers)
“Mommy rest… then you’ll be strong again.”
(Soutarou quickly ties together some planks and rope, creating a simple raft just big enough to support Shin’s body. With Akuro’s help, they gently lift her and lay her down on it.)
Soutarou:
“Hold tight. We’re taking you somewhere calmer.”
Akuro:
“And don’t fall asleep on the way. I don’t like carrying two babies at once.”
Child:
(still sitting beside Shin)
“…I’m not a baby…”
(Their journey resumes. The raft is pulled slowly toward the riverside, back to the place that once served as their refuge. Night falls again, but this time… with a much heavier responsibility.)
---
#12
(The sun slowly rises, piercing through the gaps in the trees. Morning mist hovers low above the river, the air still cold but peaceful. The makeshift raft carrying Shin now rests near their old tent—amazingly still standing, though fragile.)
Soutarou:
(sighs in relief)
“We finally made it… just in time for morning…”
Akuro:
(sitting against a rock, exhausted)
“If this trip lasted another hour, I would've shifted back to stage one.”
Shin:
(laid down gently inside the tent, her face pale but calm)
“…Sorry… for the trouble again…”
Soutarou:
“How many times do I have to say… don’t apologize.”
Child:
(sitting outside the tent, gazing at the rising sun)
“…Warm light…”
Shin:
(glancing at the child from inside)
“…They haven’t slept yet…?”
Soutarou:
(nods slowly)
“I noticed too. From last night until now… not even a yawn.”
Akuro:
(feeling the air around, eyes narrowing)
“I think… their energy is weird. Their mana stock is super stable, but… it’s not just because of our power. It’s like they have their own reservoir.”
Soutarou:
“Meaning they can stay active without rest?”
Akuro:
“Or… their body doesn’t recognize the need for ‘rest’.”
Shin:
(softly)
“…Is that… good or bad?”
Soutarou:
“That… we don’t know yet. But we need to keep an eye on it.”
(The child suddenly stands, then holds their stomach with a confused expression.)
Child:
“…Mommy… Daddy… tummy… making noise…”
Soutarou:
(immediately reacts)
“They’re hungry!”
Akuro:
“Well, duh. They haven’t eaten since yesterday.”
Shin:
“Give them porridge… or canned meat?”
Soutarou:
(rummaging through the bag)
“We’ve only got one can left…”
(The child sniffs gently… then stares into the forest.)
Child:
(stands quickly, ears twitching)
“…Smells like prey…”
Soutarou:
“Huh? Wait, are you gonna—”
(The child dashes into the forest like a wild cat—quick and nimble. In a blink, they vanish into the trees.)
Shin:
(shocked, trying to sit up)
“Eh?! They just ran off?!”
Soutarou:
“They went into the forest?! Without saying anything?!”
Akuro:
“Cat instincts. Hungry = hunt.”
Shin:
(still panicking)
“But they’re still a kid!”
Akuro:
(taking a deep breath)
“Kid or not, they were born with abilities that… aren’t normal.”
Soutarou:
(eyes on the woods, tense)
“I just hope they don’t find the wrong thing in there…”
---
#13
(Shin, though still weak and lying in the tent, immediately sits up the moment the child vanishes into the forest. Her eyes widen in panic.)
Shin:
“Soutarou! Akuro! Go after them! Right now!!”
Soutarou:
(startled, quickly turning)
“W-What?! But Shin, you’re still—”
Shin:
(voice trembling)
“I know I’m weak! But they… they’re still a baby! They don’t know what can kill them in the woods!”
Akuro:
(breathing heavily, hands on knees)
“Shin… we just got here… we—”
Shin:
(not listening, nearly crying)
“If you don’t go, I’ll walk in there myself!”
Soutarou:
(worried)
“Shin, you couldn’t even stand five minutes ago!”
Shin:
(determined)
“I don’t care! If something happens to them… I’ll never forgive myself!”
(Akuro closes his eyes for a moment, then exhales deeply. He stands, rolls his shoulders, and his body shrinks in a burst of red light—back to his eagle form.)
Akuro:
(his eagle voice soft like a sigh)
“Kreek… I’ll scout from above.”
(The eagle soars into the sky, wings beating powerfully despite the weight. He flies along the tree line, eyes sharp and scanning for movement.)
Soutarou:
(watching the sky, then turning to Shin)
“I’ll stay with you here. But the moment Akuro signals, I’ll follow right after.”
Shin:
(softly, her face tense)
“Thank you… I know you’re all tired… but I… I can’t lose them.”
Soutarou:
(crouching beside her, voice gentle)
“We won’t let that happen. I promise.”
---
#14
Meanwhile, Akuro in the sky.
(In his stage 1 form—a large eagle with reddish-brown feathers and dark wingtips—Akuro glides low over the forest. His sharp eyes comb through every branch and shadow. But no matter how far he flies or turns, there’s no sign of the child.)
Akuro:
(thinking to himself)
“Where did they go…? Their mana is strong, but still too small to survive alone…”
(After several sweeps without result, he slows down, then descends gently back toward the tent area.)
FWOOSH.
(In a soft flare of fire, his body glows and returns to stage 2—his human form, red hair flowing, sharp eyes, and the wings fading slowly into his back.)
Akuro:
(standing near the tent, slightly winded)
“…I didn’t find them. Air’s quiet. No signs.”
Shin:
(eyes wide, face full of panic)
“They’re gone?! Akuro… you must’ve missed them! They’re tiny, they could hide!”
Soutarou:
(standing slowly)
“Maybe they went deeper in. We should look—”
KREEEK… RUSTLE.
(A sound from the bushes near the river. They all turn instinctively. Leaves shift… and from there, the child appears—walking casually, a wide smile on their face. In their hand, a large wild pheasant hangs, still intact.)
Child:
“Hehe… I found food~!”
Shin:
(stunned, eyes wide)
“They… brought a pheasant…?”
Akuro:
(completely silent, expression blank)
“…”
Soutarou:
(softly)
“…They caught that themselves…?”
Child:
(walking closer, holding the pheasant up proudly)
“This… for mommy, daddy, and Big Feathers!”
Akuro:
(still silent, then slowly turns to look at Soutarou)
Soutarou:
(also silent, meeting his gaze)
(The two stare at each other, then both look down.
Defeated. In silence.)
Shin:
“…I can’t even walk… and they hunted a pheasant.”
Soutarou:
“…All I can do is start a fire.”
Akuro:
“…I flew all over the forest… and they brought dinner home.”
Child:
(grinning proudly)
“I heard feathers… then… CHOMP!”
Shin:
(softly)
“…This child… is insanely strong…”
Soutarou:
“Cat instincts… mixed with… our genes…”
Akuro:
(sinking to his knees, staring at the ground)
“I… was totally useless earlier…”
Child:
(running up to Akuro, placing the pheasant at his feet)
“Big Feathers… help cook, okay?”
Akuro:
(looking up slowly)
“…They… asked me to cook the bird…”
Shin:
(small smile)
“Looks like they see you as the chef now.”
Soutarou:
(snickering softly)
“Chef Eagle, wild poultry specialist.”
Child:
(laughing brightly)
“Hehehe~ yummy chicken soon
Akuro:
(standing up, picking up the pheasant with a reluctant but resigned look)
“Fine… but don’t expect me to pluck the feathers too.”
Shin:
(sighing in relief, voice gentle)
“…What matters is… they came back.”
Soutarou:
(looking at all of them, a tired smile on his face)
“And for today… that’s enough."
# 15
Akuro:
"I'm not good at cooking, so soarou, hehe!"
Soutarou:
(silent for a moment, then sighed)
"Okay..."
(take chicken, frown)
"... but don't blame me if you burn it."
Akuro:
(Relaxing sitting on the edge of the tent)
"Calm down, I'm good at eating, not cooking."
Shin:
(Smiling Little)
"Even if it's burnt, I still eat. The important thing is Anget."
Child:
(standing next to Shin, his eyes wide)
"Chicken ... fragrant ~!"
(Soutarou began to prepare makeshift cooking utensils, clean the chicken, make emergency spices from wild spices that he found around the tent. Small campfires lit up, warm the atmosphere of the morning which is still foggy.)
Soutarou:
"If the chicken is perfectly cooked, all of you are the dishwasher debt."
Akuro:
(pretend to sleep)
"I'm a slave aera, not a kitchen slave."
Shin:
(chuckle)
"I'm still painful, so I have an official permission to tackle."
Soutarou:
"Our child is caught, but his father is ripe. This world justice is zero."
Child:
(Standing beside Soutarou, curious)
"Papa ... turning around chicken ... funny ..."
Soutarou:
(small smile though tired)
"Yes, funny until my hands are pegel."
(A few minutes passed. The aroma of grilled chicken began to fill the air. When the meat began to cook perfect, the skin was shiny, the aroma of the seasoning was tempting, they all approached around the fire.)
Akuro:
(keep drool from a distance)
"I ... can't wait ..."
Shin:
(looking at everything, then silent for a moment. His eyes began to glaze over unconsciously)
Child:
(turning to Shin, confused)
"Mama ...? Why are the eyes wet?"
Shin:
(smiling softly, then stretching hands)
"Come here..."
(The boy walked slowly towards Shin, then without much asking, Shin immediately hugged him tightly.)
Shin:
"... Mama is proud ... you're great ... you're amazing ..."
Child:
(Smiling in Shin's arms, slowly)
"Warm mama ..."
Soutarou:
(Stop turning the chicken for a moment, staring at them)
"... our lives changed, huh ..."
Akuro:
(slow voice)
"Changed ... but maybe ... not that bad."
(And that morning-with the scent of chicken, warm hugs, and gratitude that was secretly present-they sat together, in the middle of a world that was still not safe, but it felt more meaningful than before.)
# 16
(Shin still hugged the child tightly, his head rests on a warm tiny shoulder. But suddenly, the child's body began to shine softly. Soft light white-blue spread from his body, covering Shin as if it was fused naturally.)
Soutarou:
(Stop stirring the chicken, his eyes widened)
"Shin ... your body ... radiant?"
Akuro:
(Stepping quickly near them)
"That ... which resonance ... immediately."
Child:
(lifting his face from a hug)
"Mama ... sick?"
Shin:
(surprised, then slowly staring at his hand ... which previously trembled and painted, now feels light)
"I ... I can move ..."
Soutarou:
(startled)
"What ... the effect of the injection is gone?!"
Shin:
(standing slowly, without pain, his body is stable)
"... it doesn't hurt ... not even severe ..."
Akuro:
(Decreased voice)
"... He ... absorbs and stabilizes the rest of the toxins in your body ... Insecting."
Child:
(soft smile)
"I ... warm Mama ..."
Shin:
(silent, then cover your mouth with one hand, tears flowing silently)
"... you ... heal Mama ... without being asked ..."
Child:
(small whisper)
"Because mama dear me ..."
Shin:
(smiling with tears, hugging him tighter)
"I love you ... more than what can be explained ..."
Soutarou:
(standing slowly, his eyes still can not be separated from the light that slowly fades)
"... So this is ... a child born from chaos, but can heal people ..."
Akuro:
"... And you still say he's 'just a child'?"
# 17
(The soft light around the child's body slowly fades. The air around them is calm again, and the morning light envelops the camping area with natural warmth. The child remains in Shin's arms, his innocent eyes staring at his mother's face with curiosity and sincerity.)
Shin:
(paused for a moment, then his body began to tremble slowly)
"... you ... really cure me ..."
(His voice broke, and tears began to fall one by one. Not because of illness - but because he was touched. He held the child's tiny body tighter, as if he did not want to escape.)
Shin:
(while crying)
"... you're too good ... too warm ... too ... sweet ..."
Child:
(rubbing Shin's face with his small hands)
"Mama is wet ... why ...?"
Shin:
(smile while crying, his voice gently)
"This ... not sad. This ... because mama is happy ..."
Soutarou:
(standing behind them, smiling a little, breathing relief)
"He is not only born of us ... He saved us too."
Akuro:
(crossing arms, sighing)
"I've never seen the magic healing of that semurni. Especially without a spell."
Shin:
(staring at the child closely, still crying)
"... thank you ... you're not just a gift ... you are a miracle ..."
Child:
(Smiling a little, then hugging back with her tiny hand)
"Mama don't cry anymore ... Mama is strong, sweet mama ..."
(Shin cried more heavily, but this time ... there was no fear, no pain. Only tears were full of gratitude, and love that grew from things they had never expected.)
# 18
Shin:
(sob, still hugging tight)
"... I ... never felt like this before ..."
Child:
"Why did mama cry so much ...? I'm wrong huh ...?"
Shin:
(Shake fast, still crying)
"No ... you're not wrong ... you are perfect ..."
Soutarou:
(slow)
"Shin ..."
Shin:
(lift his head, staring at the boy's face with tears)
"I ... I don't want to hesitate anymore ..."
Child:
(tilt the head)
"...Mama...?"
Shin:
(firmly, even though his voice trembled)
"I ... your mother. From now on, and so on."
Child:
(staying for a moment ... then a big smile)
"Mama really ... so mama me?!"
Shin:
(smile with tears)
"Yes. I'm your mama. And I'm really proud to be your mother."
Child:
(hugging tight, chuckling)
"Hehehe ~ mama !!"
Soutarou:
(smile from the side)
"Well ... finally you say too."
Akuro:
"Just yesterday panic was said to be 'mama', now announcing alone."
Shin:
(grinning while crying)
"Let me ... I'm really panicked ... but now I'm sure."
Child:
"If mama is sure ... I'm happy ~"
Shin:
"Thank you ... you're born ..."
Child:
"Thank you mama ... already hug me ..."
Shin:
(sobbing again, hugging tighter)
"You ... make my life more meaningful ..."
Child:
"Then I promise ... I will make you happy all the time!"
Shin:
(laugh while crying)
"I'm already happy now ..."
Child:
"Don't cry ... Mama's tears are sweet but make you sad too ..."
Soutarou:
(soft throat)
"If you all continue ... I can cry."
Akuro:
(unfriendly)
"Don't drama anymore. I've run out of stock."
Shin:
(laughing softly, still lady)
"I'm serious, Soutarou ... I'm ready to be mama ... whatever happens."
Soutarou:
(smiling warm)
"I know. And I'm sure ... he can't have a better mama than you."
Child:
"The best mama in the world!"
Shin:
(vibrating voice, smile)
"I love you..."
Child:
"I love mama too!"
Soutarou:
"And Papa also loves you two."
Akuro:
(back a little)
"If I? I'm still a big feather. Point."
Child:
(Shake fast, chuckle)
"No ~ you're a family too!"
Akuro:
"...Up to you."
Shin:
(while hugging the child tightly)
"I won't let you go anymore. I promise."
Child:
"... I also don't want to be far from Mama."
Shin:
(sobbing again)
"Ouch ... my tears can't stop ..."
Soutarou:
"Already, no need to be detained. Crying that ... proof of love too."
Akuro:
"And we all know ... you cry because of love."
Shin:
(smile broadly, his eyes wet)
"Yes ... this ... because of love."
# 19
(While the warm moment takes place, the aroma of roasted chicken fills the morning air. The skin is completely cooked, brownish, crispy and juicy inside. Soungarou cuts the meat with a small knife and arranges it on a wide leaf as an emergency plate.
Soutarou:
"Chicken is finished! Hurry up before cold!"
Akuro:
(immediately forward)
"Finally. I almost ate leaves."
Shin:
(smile, sit with the child on his lap)
"I just realized ... I'm very hungry too."
Child:
(Raise your hands)
"I'll go first ~!"
Soutarou:
(give a piece of chicken)
"Here, our little hero."
Child:
(big biting, wide eyes)
"ENAAAK !!"
Akuro:
(fast eating, full mouth)
"This ... honestly really good ..."
Soutarou:
(eating while sitting leaning)
"I didn't expect to be able to cook this good ... in an emergency like this."
Shin:
(chewing slowly)
"This ... The most delicious food I've ever eaten."
Child:
"Papa ... good at cooking ...!"
Soutarou:
(proud smile)
"Finally someone admitted."
(The chicken slowly runs out, their stomachs are all full. The calm atmosphere is back, only the sound of birds and winds accompanying the wind.)
Shin:
(lay your head to the tree trunk)
"Ouch ... really full ..."
Akuro:
(sitting leaning, half closed eyes)
"I ... can sleep ... standing now ..."
Soutarou:
(relaxed on your back)
"Anyone who disturbs us again today ... must wait tomorrow."
Child:
(sitting in Shin's lap, yawning small)
"Eat full ... the heart is also full ..."
Shin:
(hugging the child tight)
"We all need a break ..."
Soutarou:
"And we all deserve to be peaceful ... even if only briefly."
(And that morning, with a full stomach, a warm heart, and body that was finally able to lean, they were all silent in peace ... under the shadow of a tree that welcomed a new family that they had never expected before.)
# 20
(The sun continues to crawl up to the afternoon, but its rays do not burn. Conversely, the soft wind blows constantly, sweeping the area under the shady tree where they take shelter. The leaves are slowly rushing, creating a soothing natural voice-like a sleeping song.)
Soutarou:
(sitting leaning against the tree trunk, closing your eyes for a moment)
"This ... Too peaceful. I'm starting to be suspicious of this dream."
Shin:
(lying beside him, the child leaned on his chest)
"If you dream ... don't wake me up."
Akuro:
(sitting not far from them, lazy position, leaning legs)
"The first time since ... I don't know when ... this world feels like it doesn't want to hurt us."
Child:
(lying on Shin, rolling spoiled)
"Uuuh ... stomach full ... heavy eyes ..."
Soutarou:
(Smiling Little)
"You just beat us all about stamina, now too, huh?"
Akuro:
"Artificial creatures, but still submit to the law of eating-too much."
Shin:
(looking at the sky)
"I like this wind. Cool, clean ... not from the laboratory fan."
Soutarou:
"The sky is bright too. Like ... the world gives us time to calm down."
Child:
(in a sleepy sound)
"Mama ... daddy ... it's delicious, like this ..."
Shin:
(smiling warm)
"Yes ... this is very good ..."
Akuro:
"Don't get used to it. The world can change in seconds."
Soutarou:
(while yawning)
"You will also sleep soon, Akuro. I know your styles."
Akuro:
"...Possible."
Shin:
(his head began to tilt slowly, wistful eyes)
"If I overslept ... don't wake up ..."
Child:
(with eyes closed half)
"... I hug Mama ... so I can't go anywhere ..."
Soutarou:
(laughing softly)
"Hugged strong, so it won't have a nightmare."
Akuro:
"If there is a nightmare, just throw a chicken to his face."
Soutarou:
"By the way, where's the rest of the chicken?"
Shin:
"It's finished ... you ate the last one earlier."
Akuro:
"He ate two servings. Don't be fooled by that tired face."
Child:
"... Papa Radus ~"
Soutarou:
"Hey! You also eat the most!"
Child:
"Hehehe ..."
Shin:
(laughing softly)
"... like a real family, huh ..."
Akuro:
(turn away, but a faint smile looks)
"... maybe it's already ready."
Soutarou:
"... strange. But I don't refuse."
Child:
(in a low voice, his eyes began to close)
"... I love mama ... daddy ... big fur ..."
Shin:
(slow voice)
"I love you, too..."
Soutarou:
"... we all love you ..."
Akuro:
"... don't call me big feathers when I sleep ..."
Shin:
(fall asleep slowly, regular breathing)
Soutarou:
(paused for a moment, then closed his eyes too)
"... take a nap for a moment ... I don't think it's a sin."
Child:
(Hurry almost audible)
"... sound ..."
Akuro:
(silent, leaning slowly into the tree, the eyes closed)
(And in the cool breeze of the day and the shade of the big tree, the four slowly sank into a peaceful nap. There was no word, no movement. Only calm breath ... and the invaluable togetherness moment.)
CLOSING EPISODE 8
