"Its exactly what I mean." Said Zukafu, very cryptically. He then goes into further detail. "Years ago... I had commited heinous acts upon both the islands and their protectors, allow me to show you..."

Zukafu lifts his hand for Mary to hold and upon touching them, she and Zukafu were transported elsewhere but with their visions having a yellowish tint that covered them.

Mary witnessed glimpses of the past, showing Zukafu during his youth, his eyes appearing the same as they were, but with longer and more shaggier hair and there she realised that where they were was at the Kami's residence.

THE KAMI RESIDENCE - FLASHBACK 1

Compared to Zukafu's current home, it appeared simple in its design while also appearing beautiful with its flowers and small ponds that were visible outside and this left Mary amazed as she admired it deeply.

But this also showed Mary the Kami family, even during that time as it showed how their high status as warriors and/or protectors as well as their fame didn't cloud them to change their home and she knew this as she had gone to the Kami residence during touring events and it also points out their humility.

Mary saw that the younger Zukafu was staring at something and curious, she went to see what it was and she saw Naoya and Luna, along with their father Yu outside in what was impressively a playground as there were kids from the neighbourhood who happily played gleefully.

The older Zukafu walked closer and says "It makes you think why I didn't show any interest in joining them... the reason is..."

Before Zukafu could explain, his younger self walked away from the window and opened his closet, showing the same blade that Zukafu still uses against the Enigma's when he is forced to.

The young Zukafu picks up the blade and looks at it. Mary and the older Zukafu do the same but upon doing so, all three began experiencing a severe shock to the mind that although the older Zukafu was able to endure it, both Mary and the younger Zukafu still experienced it.

Mary knelt down, seeing a vivid image of a woman hastily turning to stone and it becoming rubble.

The younger Zukafu screamed and threw the blade back into the closet and shutting it while he panted in pain. The pain stopped for Mary as well, also panting in pain and then seconds later, Yu came barging into Zukafu's room worried.

Seeing his son near the closet, Yu lifted him up and comforted him saying, "Its okay... Its okay... You're okay..."

Mary watched and felt somewhat jealous upon seeing the younger Zukafu receiving affection from his father.

The younger Zukafu, showing signs of anger, forced his father to release him and he ran out of his room, pushing Naoya aside.

"Takehaya!" Said the younger version of Luna as she chased after him.

"Leave me alone!" Shouted the younger Zukafu as he ran out of the house with Luna following behind him.

Back at Zukafu's room, Zukafu helped Mary up and said "Come... This is where I commited my first crime."

SOMEWHERE ELSE - LATER

The two were then transported to a different area where both Zukafu and Luna are somewhere near the ocean. Mary and Zukafu watch as they see the younger version of himself recklessly attack anything that comes in his sights.

Luna tries to stop Zukafu and calm him down but then Zukafu pins Luna to the ground and sunk his teeth into her left shoulder, causing her to scream in pain and leaving Mary stunned by what he had done.

The younger Zukafu heard his sisters cries of screams and stopped, realising what he had done as he looked at his hands and at the people around him, seeing their shocked expressions.

The younger Zukafu got off Luna and took a few steps back before tripping. Later, Yu along with Naoya arrive and immediately seeing Luna, they ran to him.

Yu took out some bandages that he had in his pocket and tended to Luna's bite wound. Seeing Zukafu's traumatised face, he said to Naoya "Continue covering up the wound, I'll tend to your brother."

Naoya nodded and took over for his father as he continued to tend to Luna's wound. He said to her, "Hey its okay..."

Yu walked up to Zukafu while he saw in his perspective his father appearing deeply enraged and was about to slap him. Out of fear, he said "I-I'm sorry..." Yu got closer and was shocked to see his son tearing up. Zukafu continued saying "I didn't mean to... I'm sorry..." with his voice breaking.

The older Zukafu explained to Mary, "After realising what I had done... I chose to cut myself away from my father and my siblings, even dropping the name Kami..."

Mary could notice the immense regret visible from Zukafu's voice as his emotionless tone changed. Zukafu continued "... I doubt Luna would forgive me for what I did to her... Now do you understand? Why I am who I am?"

Mary stayed quiet.

Zukafu said "I... Am a threat to not just the island... Not just Japan... But to the whole world... And the solution to that... is to disappear..."

CLIFFS OUTSIDE THE CITY - NIGHT

The flashback then shifts to Zukafu, at the dead of night, atop of cliff away from the city and away from home, as he stands on the edge of the cliff.

The young Zukafu whispers "Now everyone can be safe..." before he jumps of the cliff and falls to his doom. His head is about to collide with the rubble before he is kicked in the stomach with such force that it caused him to collide into some rocks, preventing his death.

Emerging from the rocks, Zukafu saw that it was Luna who was standing in front of him with an upset expression.

The young Zukafu said "You shouldn't be here..."

Luna asked "And why is that?!"

Zukafu answered "Because I might hurt you agai-" but then suddenly, Luna punches him on the face. She did it again. And again. And again. And again.

Until there was blood coming from both his nose and his lips, Luna grabs him by his collar shirt and angrily says, "And this is the way to solve this solution!? Killing yourself?!"

Zukafu stays silent. Luna throws him to the ground.

Zukafu gets up and says "You have- every right to be mad with me- especially with what I- did to you-"

Luna then slapped Zukafu again and said "Do you really think I'm upset about you biting me?!"

This line made Zukafu surprised. Luna then continued, explaining "I'm disappointed in you in how you're willing to give up! You have so much potential like the rest of us and yet, you're choosing this option!"

Upon seeing Zukafu lower his head, Luna then calms down as she recognised what he was thinking. She sat him down like a newborn child who can manage to walk and knelt in front of him.

She said "Its about her, isn't it?"

Mary from above the cliff was too invested in the story that she spooked upon Zukafu hastily grabbing her arm. She looked at him and saw that he had his head lower, as if what she was about to witness still affected him but he then let go of her and turned his back, allowing Mary to continue watching.

Back to the younger Zukafu and Luna, she says to Zukafu, "Even after the battle concluded, father and the others weren't fortunate to reach to her in time..."

Zukafu stayed silent, as did the older Zukafu and then together, they said "They were... after me..." Mary turned her head to Zukafu as she listened to him. Both Zukafu's continued, "She didn't want them to reach to me so... She locked me in her home and with a smile... She vanished into the light..."

They both begin tearing up, "I wanted to be there for her... I wanted to die alongside her... All I wanted... Was to be with her..."

Luna proceeds to hug Zukafu as he weeps uncontrollably. The older Zukafu, confessing everything to Mary, dropped to his knees and broke into tears.
