The weather was getting cloudy. The bystanders left the scene soon after they heard the officer's name.

Martin was tired. His physical power had run out because of the earlier race that happened an hour or so ago.

"Okay, I'll tell you, I don't have a choice anyway."

"Good choice" replied the officer.

"But first." Martin pointed at the clique "I do not want them to do anything or hear about this."

The officer only sighed and gave the clique a sign to leave.

"They are gone now. You can start."

Martin then sighed too and told him briefly what happened and how things turned out
“And I saw them running towards me…” he starts to speak passionately as if he regained strength “then cornered on the street”, the old officer offered him a intrigued look and awe while listening to him “and then I found the girls” and after 45 minutes he stopped. The officer finally done with his reports pats him on the back

“Good job kid, you managed to survive!” he then got a cigarette “most of your kind would have died probably”

Martin got confused.

“What do you mean I would have died?”

He looks him could into the eyes after tossing the cigarette aside “You are dead man walking. You by some miracle outpaced a trained assassin.” The officer looks at him amused “Are you trying to tell me that you a hidden talent or something?”

“Surely I am not deadweight though?” Martin answered back.

“Kid, you were holding around 60-80 kg on your back running for straight 30 minutes while moving like a ninja. You ought to tell me that you do jogging for a life?” He laughed for a couple of seconds then slowly told the girls to keep the record of everything by signals and ordered them to disperse “How about I take you home now?”

Martin exhausted to the point of no return now relaxed “Sure, let me just” then tried to look for his phone his eyes opened wide “where is?” he started to touch his body fast. “Where is it!!” he started to panic.

The officer looked at his face and was about to gesture to calm down be he became even more frantic “Where is my phone!”. Martin started finally to act his age again.

Then the clique patrol came to the officer while Martin goes into deep depression “Sir, a distress call was filled one X street. Intel tells us that there is a flip phone on the ground of the alley. Should we call the criminal department.”

The officer relieved a sigh and then waved her off “Tell the other we need a car and a portable battery charger.” Then moved to the careless boy “Maybe you have left it somewhere behind?” Then helped him get up. “Come let`s go in the car.”

On their way back the girls could stop murmuring but one of them was in deep thoughts. She was for sure that today was an odd day but this just bits the cake

(How? How didn’t he know!?)

(?)

“What is the matter boss, why are you so upset?”

She then stopped and turned to them.

“Did you see it?” she asked frantically.

The girls look puzzled.

“See what boss?”

“Are you talking about his bruises?”

” Are you referring to his strange speech?”.

“Does he have a girlfriend?”

Everyone looked at the last girl with pure confusion and shock.

“What?” She shrugged it off “I am asking a normal question, am I?”

“That is not the point of it!” Blushed the little devil “I am asking about his body, not his status!” she stomped.

“Exactly” she said with a wishful face “Not only hot, but tall, mature” she dozed off in her fantasies

The boss just shook her head and then repeated her question again “Did you see it?” but with a serious tone and look.

“We do not know what you are talking about to be honest” agreed the girls.

She was about to go on a rampant but saw their looks. Not following at all.

“Boss, you are the only one with that kind of power, you remember right? That is why you are the chief.” Said one of the girls.

“But you could also see, I was not using my powers at all!” she looked at them like a madman, but nobody responded. All looking worried but not speaking at all. She sighed then looked towards the sky.

(I hope that you are okay neighbor, because I do not know you, but I know that you are a full bag of worms with a lot of holes, so better you not do something stupid.)

On the other side of the town sirens and ambulances arrive in a lonely alley.

“Make way!” shouts the medics while holding the child in the carrier.

“Wait I am with her! I am her acquaintance” shout another voice!

“We cannot accept anyone, the patient is unconscious you…” he stopped, when he sees that the girl responds to his voice, trying to murmur something.

“We have no time! Get in! now” he orders him

Then quickly dashed off into the night.

“That was the guy who I have save by the way” said Martin after getting off to get his phone.

“Really” said puzzled the officer “You risked your life for him? He left you behind you know?”

“And it took him a long time to come here and save his girlfriend you know?” said Martin while looking at the scene.

Blood, Ruining public alleys and props.

“Let me go! I am innocent.” Said the boss girl while trying to get out with her last might after waking up “Do you know who I am! You wi-”

“Bullshit, you are lying” said with a cold tone Martin while heading towards her “Your lawyer better be top notch or you are rotting in solitary confinement for premediated attempt for murder on a little child?” he continued to stare at her while she is escorted to the police car.

“Get in!” shouted one of the other officers.

Then looked again at Martin, like a wild beast.

“I will never forget you” she said with a revengeful face

“Then I hope you never find peace in prison then because that is where you are headed.”

Sullivan looked at him with amusement and entertainment

(What a bold and unwavering child. He would make a great prosecutor. Sadly, he is not affiliated with anyone.)

He sighed, then tapped him on the shoulder.

His heart was beating fast. He was scared but had to improvise, so he turned expressionless.

“Will she come out” he asked while following the others arrest.

“Maybe” he said after he started smoking “but probably they will face a little bit of time, then probably get out, but you won`t have to worry, we the police make sure that you the civilians are safe” he looked at him with a fake grin “right?”

“Yeah,” confirmed Martin “just like you said, but I guess I have to become stronger.” He muttered.

“Everyone has to” said the senior “or we shall be consumed by our peers.” Then put out the cigarette “I think that is enough wisdom for you boy, shall I take you home” while walking towards his car.

Martin looked back then at the scene.

(What have I done…)

Then he looked at the officer waiting at the car as well as opening the door and patting the seat next to him. Then he snapped back and looked at his watch and hurried towards the car.

The night was engulfed in the eeriness of the wind and the siren that night. Only one thought was one in his mind

(Let’s hope I am not late for dinner and have something to eat. I am starving)
