Chapter 12:

The last tihirax

The other side of the end

Kelis, Lien, Tera, Axel, Nix and five of his men stared in awe at the robot lying before them. It was four times the size of a normal human and was copper-colored.

- “This is the Helper,” - Kelis said.

- “Helper?” - Nix asked.

- “We have had cases when we have found such robots. However, we have only been able to find their fragments, which were not amenable to restoration. Mentions from old historical sources indicate that they served as helpers for the people of those eras. What a pity that we do not have time for it. If we could disassemble it, or start it…” - Kelis said.

- “Guys, look at the floor…” - one of Nix’s men said.

The team shone a light on the floor, and saw on the dust-covered floor the footprints of the same robot, which was now lying motionless.

- "Is that what I'm thinking about?" - asked Tera.

- "I hope not, damn it!" - replied another of Kelis's assistants.

- "Don't even think about touching him. He hasn't been a worker for hundreds of years. And so be it. Otherwise... it seems that even our exoskeletons won't stop him..." - replied Nix.

- "In any case, we don't have time for this. We came here for the tichirax. So let's find it and get out of here as quickly as possible!" - said Axel.

- "But where do we find it?" - asked one of Nix's men.

Lien raised his hand and pointed forward.

- "The tichirax is in that room," - said Lien.

Lien pointed to the entrance to another room, which was not far from the team.

- "Why do you think so?" - asked Tera.

- "Because it's written on the door..." - Lien replied.

The team went into the room that Lien pointed to. Everyone began to shine their flashlights around the room in search of tihirax. However, the room was empty. A completely empty room that had previously been a tihirax warehouse.

Axel looked carefully at the floor.

- "Turn off the flashlights," - Axel said.

The team turned off the flashlights. Small tihirax menirals became visible on the floor, glowing.

- "There used to be tihirax here," - Axel said.

- "Even if we scrape out everything that's here, we're unlikely to be able to start our TDC," - Tera said.

- "So what now? Is this the end for us?"- Axel asked Kelis.

Everyone looked at Kelis, waiting for what he would say. However, Kelis himself had no idea where to get the tihirax.

- "There is a tychirax here," – said Eno.

Everyone turned and looked at Eno.

Eno led everyone back to the room with a mysterious structure. Eno approached a huge device that looked like a container. Thick cables came out of the device, which diverged throughout the room.

Eno placed his hand on the container.

- "Here... Here is the tihirax," - said Eno and opened the container.

Inside were tihirax stones, which were completely glowing. The team looked at them with admiration. The entire container was filled with charged tihirax.

- "Damn it. This is what we need! Kelis, will this be enough for us?" - asked Nix.

Kelis looked intently at the container. Then his gaze shifted to Eno. He looked intently at Eno. However, Kelis understood that he had been asked a question and hurried to answer.

- "Yes. That's more than enough for us."

- "Great! Then let's load everything into bags!" - Nix told his men.

- "Do it as quickly as possible. I don't know what will happen to this place if we take the tihirax," - Eno said cautiously.

- "No problem! We'll do it quickly!" - Nix replied.

- "Wait, Nix," - Lien stopped Nix.

Nix stopped and looked at Lien in surprise.

- "What will happen if we take the tihirax?" - Lien asked.

Lien looked intently at Eno as he was about to answer. Eno carefully adjusted his glasses.

- "I said I didn't know...".

- “That’s not true,” - Lien interrupted Eno.

Everyone froze in surprise, looking at Lien.

- “Lien, what are you talking about?” - asked Tera.

- “Remember how much he knew about this place. It’s all classified information. He could only know it if…”

Eno interrupted Lien. – “Only if he worked on this project. Is that what you mean?”

Everyone looked at Eno and waited for him to answer Lien.

- “It was about ten years ago…” - Eno began to tell and remember the past.

Young Eno walks around a large room filled with reports and results of various studies.

- “It was at a time when I was working on an international project.”

Eno rummaged through all these reports and documents.

- “My team needed the results of some studies… However, to find them, we had to sort through tons of reports and other documents.”

Eno checked the documents, and put the papers he had already checked at one end of the room.

- “The team didn’t have much hope for the project in me. I was new among them. And they didn’t see any prospects, so they decided to push the most boring work onto me. While they devoted themselves to real discoveries and advertised in the media. At the time, I thought it was the worst period in my career as a scientist."

Every day, the number of boxes checked became more and more. And then, at one point, Eno came across an important report.

- “That's when this document came to me. It was a report from one of the lab technicians who worked right here, where you and I are now. They were studying this TDC and trying to determine what impact it could have on the world. As it turned out later, the impact of this TDC is enormous… So much so that it was one of the reasons why people left this project. They had nothing to take from it. It was perfect and should have remained untouched.”

Eno's memories ended.

- “My team was so looking for vanity that they allowed me to read something I wasn't supposed to read. At that time, I had no idea what role my reading had. However, life is an interesting thing. Then, when the time came for Rebirth, and then the time came when Kelis called me to the project to save the Earth... when we came to the conclusion that we would not be able to launch our project without the tihirax, I remembered that same document. It was written by fate itself that everything would turn out this way,” Eno added.

- “What exactly is this TDC?... What is it capable of?”

- “It restrains the shift of tectonic plates,” - said Eno.

- “What?” - Lien asked in surprise.

Everyone had a similar surprised reaction. Except for Kelis.

- "In history, there have already been major shifts of tectonic plates that split an entire continent. However, there came a point when the shift had to be too critical for the continent. And then, the people who lived then built this TDC. It allows you to restrain these shifts," - said Eno.

- "So, as soon as we take the tihirax that is in the container, the plates will shift?" - Lien asked in fear.

- "Almost immediately, as soon as this TDC stops working."

Everyone except Kelis looked at Eno in fear and shock.
