The price of energy: Part II

Lien clenched his fists angrily and accepted that Eno would stay near the TDC.

- "Tell me how the inscriptions on this panel are translated... so that I can do everything correctly..."

Lien began to approach Eno.

At this time, the team reached the elevators and began loading bags of tihirax onto them. The robot did nothing and simply watched the bags of mineral.

After a while, Lien came out. Everyone looked at him in surprise.

- "Where is Eno?" - asked Tera.

- "He won't come," - Lien answered sadly.

- "What? And how do you understand that?" - asked Axel.

- "It's his choice. We can't stay here for long!" - said Kelis.

- "Are we going to leave Eno?" - asked Axel displeasedly.

- "Eno knows what he's doing," - said Kelis.

At this time, Eno sat and looked at the control panel. He raised his right hand and moved the first lever, and then the second.

- "Forgive Lien. I don't know if the mainland will really last three days... But at least for the time that remains, I will redirect all the available energy!"

The levers began to return to their places. And additional red buttons lit up on the side and signaled warnings. However, Eno did not let the levers return and did his best to keep them where he had placed them.

The ground around him began to shake. It was also felt where the other team members were now. Some of the stones from the depression began to collapse. The team looked at the tunnel that led to the TDC command post, where Eno was now. They all wondered if they could return Eno back. However, they all understood that they could no longer be here.

Nix and his men entered the elevator with the tihirax.

- "We'll wait for you upstairs," - having said this, Nix closed the elevator doors and began to lift the lever up. The elevator began to rise.

Robot also wanted to go into the elevator with them, following the tihirax. However, Lien stopped him.

- "Tavoe!" - said Lien.

Lien, Tera, Axel, Kelis and Robot entered the second elevator. They also began to rise.

During the ascent, the elevator with Nix's team could not withstand such a load. One of the cables broke. The elevator shook and Nix had to stop it urgently.

Tera, who was riding with the rest of the team in the second elevator, noticed this.

- "Look!" - Tera exclaimed.

Kelis, seeing the elevator with Nix's team above, stopped their elevator as soon as the two elevators aligned.

- "Nix, let some of you jump over to us. We will go up and return for the rest of the team and the tihirax."

- "Don't talk nonsense! We won't hang here for that long! Raise the tihirax first!

Nix picked up the bag with the tihirax and was about to throw it to Kelis. In those seconds, Kelis thought. He didn't argue with Nix, because he knew he was right. And first of all, Kelis also wanted to save the mineral.

Kelis was about to raise his hands and get ready to catch the bag when the robot jumped out of their elevator. He jumped onto the roof of Nix's and his team's elevator. The robot instantly caught the broken cables with one hand and the elevator with the other.

The robot began to support the elevator so that it wouldn't fall. Everyone froze and looked at the robot in surprise.

- "What are you waiting for! Jump! The robot won't let the tihirax in!" - said Lien.

All of Nix's people jumped onto the second elevator. Only Nix remained in the elevator.

- "I'll wait here..." - said Nix.

Kelis nodded to Nix and quickly pressed the lever and the elevator went up. The team traveled for several minutes before going up. But, in the end, the elevator arrived and they emerged from the abyss.

- "Get out!" - Kelis said.

Everyone silently looked at Kelis and looked at the ground around, which was shaking all over.

- "I'm going there. So, get out quickly!" - Kelis said.

Everyone who was in the elevator got out. Kelis quickly lowered the lever and began to descend. He reached the elevator. The robot managed to hold the elevator with the tihirax and Nix. Kelis stopped the elevator. Nix threw the bags into Kelis' elevator and moved to Kelis with the robot.

- "How are you?" - Kelis asked.

- "I had an interesting conversation," - Kelis joked, looking at the robot.

Kelis lifted everyone up. At this time, the tremors were increasing.

The Nix team, which remained at the top, looked in surprise at the robot that came out of the elevator.

- “And what is this?” - asked one of the Nix team members.

- “We picked it up on the way,” - joked Nix.

Stones began to fall from above.

- “And where is Eno?” - asked one of Nix's people.

- “Then we will explain! We need to get dressed!” said Kelis.

Everyone who had exoskeletons activated them and lifted the heavy bags of tihirax. The entire team began to flee from the closed facility. First, they left the room with the hollow. Then they left the command center. Then they ran into the corridor, and from it they went outside, to the shore of the island.

Having approached the shore, the team began to load the bags of tihirax onto the boat.

- “The boat won’t hold him,” - Nix said of the robot.

- “I think he’ll climb on him by force,” - Kelis said.

Nix took Kelis’ words with displeasure.

As soon as the team finished loading the bags, everyone got on the boat. Except for the robot. The robot got into the water.

- “I think he’ll think of something. Start the engine!” - Nix shouted to one of his men who was at the helm.

The boat started up and began to move away from the island. The robot saw that the boat was floating and went completely into the water. Its shoulders and feet transformed into propellers and began to spin. The robot began to swim after the boat.

- "I told you!" - said Kelis about the robot.

The tremors of the earth increased. The island began to collapse. The closed object began to collapse and turned into ruins. All team members silently and thoughtfully looked at the island.
