Chapter 7:
Valiesha & the March of the Enagas
When Chirus and Calyx tiptoed upstairs quietly, the two sat in silence after everything they just witnessed. They were pale with faces in tears.
"There's no graduation," Chirus hugged Calyx. "There's no future for us."
The two hid behind a corner to avoid detection. They cried, realizing it didn't matter if they worked hard to graduate and become great men, as Senri promised. Graduation meant being fed to Jezebel and being spare parts for Senri's undead husband.
"Chirus?"
"Calyx, let's find Tynan and get the frick out."
Calyx nodded. The two continued their search for the Viers Center. They overheard patroling Skelengels walking downstairs from a floor covered with red lights, talking about the place. The boys waited for them to pass before sneaking upstairs to the red room. Dr. Eins said it was a hospital with the best technology, but when the two entered the room, it was no hospital.
Rolling conveyor belts held inactive Endromen as giant cyborg centipedes with 20 red eyes assembled them with their long legs. The boys walked across racks of Endromen, avoiding being seen by the centipede workers.
"Is this an Endroman factory?" Calyx gasped. "This is not a hospital!"
"Oh my God, Calyx!" Chirus pointed.
They saw racks of charging Endromen attached with IV lines. The IV lines were connected to disabled boys with missing limbs and those who couldn't see, talk, or hear.
"Endromen need blood to survive?" Chirus vomited. "Where's Tynan? Oh, no."
The two saw Tynan's sleeping, topless body with IV lines connected to an Endroman.
"Ty!" Calyx jumped, plucking the IV lines off.
"Dude! Careful with those!" Chirus quickly covered the wounds with emergency bandages in his white coat.
As Tynan blinked awake, the connected Endroman squealed like a baby. The android covered its face as its metallic body engorged with black veins. With erupting tumors on its head, it reached for Tynan's body, but Chirus found a hammer on a workbench, smashing the Endroman to pieces. Alarms blared as the Endroman exploded.
"Tynan! Do you hear me?" Calyx shook his brother.
Tynan held his shaking hand with Calyx and Chirus' hands. "B-bro? C-Chirus? Y-you all came for me?"
Chirus nodded in tears, covering Tynan with his white coat. "Thank goodness you're okay."
The three hugged each other, not caring about the loud alarms. Chirus helped Tynan walk with his single leg as Calyx led them out.
"We're getting out guys!" Calyx declared. "Away from this hell!"
The cyborg centipede workers saw the trio and scuttled on their long legs towards them. The trio ran for their lives as Chirus threw the hammer to knock down a rack of Endromen on top of the centipede workers. They ran past racks of Endromen that sucked the life out of other injured young boys.
As they scurried past the metallic halls, they heard screams from other students. The three saw two escaping topless boys bleeding from IV lines running past. When everyone blinked, one of the two fugitives' heads was bitten off. A metallic sapphire woman with an orange eye, axe-like horns, and needle-like fingers stood. Tynan fell off Chirus' grip with eyes enlarged, recognizing the blue statue stained with his friends' blood from earlier.
"No! No! No!" Tynan sobbed as Chirus and Calyx carried him away. "She'll kill us all! She'll kill us all!"
When the trio dashed from the sapphire menace, the last fugitive looked away, trying to run for his life. The statue moved and ate in milliseconds, shredding him to edible pieces.
The three cried, running for their lives towards a door. When it opened, all three fell to the ground in shock to see the sapphire statue waiting on the other side.
"D-don't look away! D-don't blink!" Tynan chattered his teeth. "S-she only moves when nobody's looking!"
The three slowly backed away from the blood-stained statue.
"H-how can we not blink? It's impossible!" Calyx's eyes lowered.
"We take turns blinking!" Chirus thought. "We let each other know and cover for each other. Blink, Calyx!"
When Calyx blinked, Chirus kept his eyes open on the statue. Chirus blinked, but the statue didn't move since Tynan watched it. They tried to feel any doors behind them while watching the sapphire girl. They all jumped, blinking when they heard all doors shut into lockdown. Instantly, the sapphire woman was in front of Calyx. In milliseconds, his left arm was ripped off.
Calyx screamed in pain as Chirus quickly covered his wounds. Tynan sat, watching the sapphire girl to buy time for Chirus. Running out of emergency bandages, Chirus took off his shirt to cover Calyx's wound.
"I need to blink!"
"Do it!"
"We're trapped! How do we escape?"
"Eyes on it, please!"
"Stop looking for doors!
"My eyes itch! One second!"
"No!"
When Shyrin's brothers looked back, the statue wasn't there anymore. It stood in front of Chirus, who screamed as claws and bite marks lacerated his body trunk. The three were cornered on the ground beside the wall with their dry red eyes fixated on the sapphire woman standing in front of them. They held hands in terror, with their vision blurring from dryness. They wanted to cry, but they couldn't.
"P-please help us, God! Please! Don't leave us with this thing!" Chirus begged. I'm sorry, Valiesh. I'm sorry I couldn't bring you happiness!
A door blew open behind the sapphire woman. There was a familiar purple-haired woman in a white coat with crimson eyes and glasses. Dr. Eins walked behind the statue with her eyes on it. The professor held a mirror in front of the sapphire girl's cycloptic orange eye. When Dr. Eins stabbed the mirror's reflection with a syringe, the sapphire girl shattered like glass.
"Dr. Eins!" The boys blinked their tears as she hugged the trio.
"It's okay, you three. You're safe now!" Dr. Eins heard Endromen marching into the room. "Sunder!"
Smoke bombs enveloped the Viers Endromen Factory, blinding the Endromen. When the smoke cleared, Dr. Eins and the trio were gone.
