Chapter 8:

Roll of Sunder, Hear Men Cry

Valiesha & the March of the Enagas

While the boys in Dessix curiously walked outside to notice the cameras stop moving, alarms sounded as Endromen blocked the campus entrances. The boys were ordered back into their dorms as megaphones as stormtroopers and bat drones placed the campus under lockdown.

Dr. Eins' home was burned down by her Endroman. The Skelengels searched the home to find it empty. Dr. Eins and Sunder hid in an unoccupied professor's residence Calyx didn't finish building. The two quickly tended to Chirus, Calyx, and Tynan as the Skelengels searched the high-class residences for them.

Chirus tossed in his bed as he imagined waking up to see Valiesha beside him. He cried, touching her smiling face. The happy sight jumped him awake when his girlfriend morphed into the bloody sapphire statue. A monster that could eat him in milliseconds.

"Chirus! It's okay!" Dr. Eins sat the distressed Chirus covered in bandages. "You're safe!"

"Dr. Eins!" Chirus breathed heavily, looking for Shyrin's brothers.

The two brothers were peacefully asleep in the room across.

"Tynan and Calyx are safe. Don't worry, Chirus. Please rest," Dr. Eins tucked him into bed.

As Chirus lost consciousness again, Dr. Eins met with Sunder in the living room. Sunder had her black hair tied into a bun. The Enaga spy with green eyes wore a turquoise stealth crop outfit.

"They're resting now," Dr. Eins stood with Sunder. "We can talk now."

"Good, because we got only five minutes before surveillance gets repaired," Sunder crossed her arms. "But first, tell me, what in the absolute frick was that blue thing?"

"That was a Makyuran guard. They are security demons permitted to devour boys who disobey campus rules."

"You've got to be kidding me," Sunder checked her pink high-tech goggles, checking the pictures taken during her infiltration.

"How much were you able to get?" Dr. Eins looked outside the window to check for incoming Skelengels.

"Plenty," Sunder examined the pictures of the deceptive paradise the male students lived in. "So Senri locks the men in a hologram bubble that simulates a happy city, but it's a lie to cover up the war and how much Senri ruined society."

"The boys are promised to see the happy world outside, but the Skelengels won't allow it unless they graduate. Even if some like Tynan's group escaped, they would have to deal with the Makyuran guards."

Sunder scrolled her goggles to the terrifying truth of the Viers Center. The promised hospital is an Endroman factory operated by robot centipede workers that used disabled boys as batteries to power the androids.

"Why do Endromen need blood? Aren't they droids?" Sunder asked.

"They are demons like Makyuran guards and other monsters Senri keeps."

"Where do these things come from?"

Dr. Eins sighed. "This is a dark truth I learned about Senri over the years. I think Chirus and the two brothers were the closest to ever seeing Senri's true motive."

Dr. Eins made sure no Skelengels were near the house. "Matriarch Senri is a necromancer."

"Like raising the undead?"

"Yes, she has a selfish motive to resurrect her husband, Arkanis, from the dead. That's her sole motivation to rise to power. Senri made a deal with an ancient spirit named Jezebel. Jezebel promised to teach Senri necromancy to bring Arkanis back by sacrificing other men. In exchange, Jezebel demands she and her creatures be fed young, healthy men between the ages of 20 to 30."

Lightning struck with heavy rain pouring when Dr. Eins finished. Sunder felt chills crawl on her skin, realizing why boys who graduate never return.

"We have 30 seconds before cameras are back online!" Skelengel patrols shouted outside. "Keep searching!"

"Shoot! They'll be here soon. We have to move the boys!" Sunder exclaimed.

"I have colleagues on the way to help me move them. Sunder, you go quickly before they find you! Tell Valiesha everything that's happened here!"

***

While Sunder escaped Dessix to report to Valiesha, Matriarch Senri sacrificed another graduated student to Jezebel. As usual, the moth, dragon, and serpent scrambled for the leftovers while Senri took pieces of flesh that formed Arkanis' white hair and sealed more of his skin.

Senri smiled at Arkanis' eyes, which didn't have eyelids yet. His face was almost complete, with his mouth and mandible not yet finished. Arkanis' body was mostly sealed with skin, with some muscles still exposed. Senri rotated her fingers, summoning the victim's blood on the floor to morph into clothes and a doctor's robe to cover her husband. After all, Arkanis was a doctor, which Chirus reminded Senri of.

"Don't worry, Arkanis. You're almost finished!" Senri patted the seated Arkanis on the head. "We only need Chirus to finish your mouth and eyelids and patch the rest of your skin.

"My dear, Senri," The wendigo named Jezebel faced her. "I heard you had some runaway boys, including the tasty pharmacist boy you promised me."

"Dr. Eins betrayed me, but rest assured. No harm will come to you."

Jezebel's tall, emaciated body loomed over Senri, bending down to face her with her red eyes. Senri sweated as Jezebel's horned skull breathed in her face.

"So, should I lose confidence in your ability to defend me? I sense those women of Yahweh may be here anytime soon."

"No, Jezebel! I can destroy the Enaga rebels! I have a plan to not only crush Valiesha but also find Chirus. That way, you'll have your big meal, and I'll get Chirus' leftovers to finish Arkanis."

Jezebel growled in Senri's face but walked away. "Very well. Prove yourself to me. Don't forget that I gave you magic, and I can take it away!"

Senri shivered when Jezebel vanished into a howling mist of blood. She looked at Arkanis' seated body as the dragon, serpent, and moth returned to their test tubes.

"Arkanis, I'll get you back no matter what. I promise. We'll be together again," Senri told the silent Arkanis, who couldn't blink or talk yet. "Salamandra!"

The albino serpent with four red eyes emerged from its test tube, twitching its dragon whiskers. The serpent named Salamandra awaited Senri's orders.

"My Skelengels have located Valiesha. Crush her!"

Salamandra nodded before slithering off.

"Netherdraco!"

The albino four-horned dragon with an exposed rib cage flapped its metal wings.

"The Enaga rebels' air force is closing in toward Dessix. You'll be its defender. Do your duty!"

Netherdraco eagerly roared before flying off.

"Edgemoth!"

The albino moth beat its razor wings and gazed at Senri with its seven red eyes. Its IV line legs stood on the blood-stained floor, absorbing more leftovers.

"You and I have an important task. We're having a hard time locating Chirus, but I have a way."

Edgemoth's thorax pulsated with clicking sounds as Senri instructed her idea. Meanwhile, the lifeless Arkanis watched with his unblinking eyes. While Senri flew off with Edgemoth, Arkanis' eyes dripped with tears.
