Akira Miike, part III.

it has been 40 minutes since the Castle was invaded.

the castle was attack first by a weak wave of Sins. then came a second stronger wave. now everyone prepares for the third wave. they don't know much. but they can tell that each wave of Sins will get stronger and more vicious than the previous one.

they walk around the tunnels. drops of water mixed with blood create echo. there are sounds similar to those of steps. the sounds seem to come from afar. the smell of blood is so strong that they can feel the taste of it in their mouth. the smell of blood is strong, so intoxicated can be that it feels like an agonizing reminder of mortality.

as this group of strangers keeps moving forward. a question comes to mind. 

Akira guides the group towards a longer path that will lead them straight in front of the armory's entrance. right now, the armory is the key to their survival.

"We don't have much of a choice. that armory has every weapon you can think about, and even more than that." commented Kobe.

the little group of survivors wasn't united. they had no other choice, but to follow Akira. he was the one who knew that infrastructure of the base better than anyone else. not everyone was a fan of Akira nor had respect for him. but everyone knew he is an excellent leader. 

Sayuri felt terrified. the smell of blood. the corpses. everything was too much. but at the end of the day, she had no other choice other than to tolerate such things. she is a nurse, and her job is to protect the poor old Mrs. Kamada. she can't betray her profession and leave a helpless person behind in times of chaos.

Kobe tries to be there for Sayuri, but he doesn't want to get on her way. knowing that she is fine is satisfaction enough. he could do anything for love.

Yuji Sato and Kai Hori are walking on the center of the group. they stand in a position in which is easier to protect the civilians in the front or rear. they observe every action. they pay notice to every sound. they keep themselves vigilant to all their surroundings.

Akira shows himself strong and patient. but deep inside he feels truly terrified. his precious castle has fallen. his people are getting mutilated left and right. his son is missing. he has a small group of people to protect. he feels like a failure as a leader. 

and finally, we have Franco. he doesn't show many emotions. there is an air of mystery around him and his identity. Franco asks if they got anything to eat from the cafeteria. he keeps himself all the way in the rear. every step he takes is lighter than the previous one. it's as if he knows something is going to happen.

the other people aren't important enough to name. they just breathe. there is nothing outstanding about either of them.

they finally reach the Armory. it is mostly in perfect conditions. there are no Sins inside. there are some human corpses and dead Sins outside. it seems like every person that has been there has kept the sins away from the armory. that is a good sign of out there been a bigger number of survivors than the one Akira expected after so much carnage.

they open the door. they get inside one by one. there are many weapons missing. it seems like everyone else had the same idea. they look around trying to find a proper weapon. they look all around both floors.

Akira finds twin katanas. both swords had a dragon design in the handle. he smiles as he grabs both of them. Franco on the other hand takes a spear with some gold decoration. it is strong and light. Mrs. Kamada wasn't of able mind to take a weapon. Kai Hori looks around until he finds a grenade-launcher. Yuji Sato takes a freezing gun. Kobe finds a shotgun. and finally, Sayuri takes a crossbow.

they keep moving walking around. then a new issue comes knocking ferociously. the mountain trembles abruptly. the whole training area building falls in pieces off the mountain. then snow and rocks destroy the Armory as the team was leaving. in the way two of them didn't make it on time. another three get lost on the way as they were escaping.

they kept moving. there is no time to waste. there are only eight of them left. the tunnels are no longer safe. as they move forward. there comes a third wave. this time the Sins are between the level 4-7. and their numbers are also bigger. 

"Sir. did you hear that?" asks Yuji.

comes forward a single Sin. it had a human-like body. its back was bowed. the torso was long with the lower half skinny showing its thick bones. the upper half is thick. it has four short almost normal legs that it drags. its skin is in a blue grayish tone of color. it has two huge arms that are twice the size of its torso. its face is long and twisted. its lips are sealed with a cross branded between them. its eyes are also sealed by a cross marked on them. it has a haircut similar to that of a monk. in its back it has four tiny skinny arms holding a bible. 

Akira takes his device out. it reads; Sin Level 4. sin of Unbelief/ lack of faith. this is an extremely dangerous sin with the possibility of evolving into a sin level 3 or even a level 2.

"This one is dangerous. run." yields Akira.

the Sin turns around to look at them. its mouth forces itself to open. the lower jaw is divided in two showing inside lines of teeth shark-like and moving like a chainsaw. the Sin makes an inhuman noise as it approaches them at a fast speed. 

Kai takes the grenade-launcher out. he aims at the Sin. he is told to not do it. because they are in the tunnels and it could be dangerous. the moment Kai gets distracted the Sin pushes him against the wall. then Kobe approaches holding the shotgun. he shoots at the Sin. behind him is Syuri covering her eyes as she kneels in fear.

Yuji Sato runs towards the Sin. he tries to use the freezing gun, but it malfunctions, and it blows up on his arm. his whole left arm falls in pieces. he is missing a part of his torso. half of his lower jaw is missing. he doesn't bleed. the gun froze his blood. he turns around to face his friend one last time. then the Sin in a single punch breaks his torso in multiple pieces.

Kai is half unconscious. he was able to see his friend die. but he was unable to react. he is bleeding from the head. he can't even move at the moment.

Franco Castillo throws the spear at the Sin. it goes through the Sin's left eye. the sin moves around violently. it opens its mouth wider. it creates some sort of noise that forces everyone to kneel one by one. they all start to lose faith and feel hopeless. the reason why the Unbelief Sin is so dangerous. is because its scream can be contagious. it can make the strongest men of faith lose all hope. it may be the most dangerous sin aside from the main 7. or the supreme 10 which are a whole other level of horror.

"You should run now." yields Akira as he jumps towards the Sin.

Kobe stands up. he pulls Sayuri, she can't run out of fear and shock. he asks for forgiveness before he carries her bridal style. Franco takes Mrs. Kamada. the four of them retreat. another man tries to run. the Sin catches him and in a single bite it bites his head off.

Kai wakes up. he looks at the corpse of his best friend. he stands up holding the grenade-launcher tightly. he screams with all his wrath and sorrows. 

"Sir you better run. I am not holding myself back anymore. this bitch dies today. it dies here. it dies with me no matter what." yields Kai Hori furiously.

Akira understands. he runs away as he follows the rest of the group. Akira was wounded as he was fighting the sin. he bleeds from the side. he knew that there was nothing he could say. he wasn't strong enough as a leader. he feels sorry for the young man.

Kai holds the grenade-launcher. he knows the consequences of using it on the tunnels. he feels the Sin approaching him slowly. he looks at his friend's corpse with teary eyes. he closes his eyes as he thinks about the good old times.

"I am sorry. I failed your parents. I promised them that I would always protect you like a good older brother. but don't worry. this is my redemption ark." said Kai crying.

Kai shoots. there is an explosion. Kai keeps shooting indiscreetly. there are multiple big explosions that completely destroyed that part of the tunnels. the Sin was destroyed. Kai was left on the grounds bleeding out with all his body burned. he was badly wounded. he drags himself around. then an avalanche erased all trails of him.

from a group of thirteen. there are only five of them left. they kept moving until they find themselves in front of the Laboratory which was in pristine state. then the doors of the laboratory are open by two people. then comes out a bearded brunette man in his early forties in a medical gown alongside a young lady. 

"You guys must be survivors. please come in. we have coffee and hot chocolate. does anyone in here wants some cookies?" said the charismatic man.

they follow him inside the laboratory. the man in question seems slightly suspicious. but he acts friendly. he has some wrinkles. he has some white hairs on his beard. his hair is of a light tone of honey brown and slightly curly. he wears glasses with a thick frame.

"Hector nice to see you alive." said Akira with a genuine smile.
