Chapter 10:
Making of a Goddess
The first thing Rin noticed when she woke up was that she wasn’t dying.
No lava. No freezing blizzards. No sea monsters trying to eat her face.
Just a soft breeze, the rustling of leaves, and… birds?
She cracked open an eye.
A blue sky stretched above her. Sunlight filtered through the leaves of a massive tree, casting warm patches of light on the soft grass beneath her.
She slowly sat up, blinking.
“…Did I actually make it?”
She flexed her hands.
No frostbite. No burns. No open wounds from getting suplexed by nature itself.
For the first time since she arrived in this insane world, she felt… normal.
Then she looked down at herself.
And almost screamed.
“WHERE DID MY MUSCLES GO?!”
The insane, monster-punching physique she had built up over countless fights? Gone.
Instead, she looked… normal.
Lean, toned, but not a wall of raw muscle and rage like before.
Her heart stopped.
“Wait. WAIT. Am I weak now?!”
Panic set in.
She leapt to her feet, clenched her fists, and punched the tree behind her.
BOOM!
The entire trunk exploded into splinters.
Rin stared.
“…Okay. Still strong.”
Her stats must’ve adapted to this new era, keeping her ridiculous power but removing the terrifying ‘ripped caveman’ aesthetic.
She exhaled.
“…Thank god. I wasn’t ready to be ugly buff forever.”
Then her stomach growled.
Loudly.
“Oh. Right. Food.”
For the first time in a very, very long time, she wasn’t being actively chased by death, which meant she could actually look for something edible.
She glanced around.
A dirt road stretched through the trees, leading toward a small village in the distance.
Her eyes sparkled.
“A village! Civilization! PEOPLE WHO CAN COOK!”
Her legs moved on their own.
—
The village looked exactly like the ones from all those isekai anime Rin used to watch back on Earth.
Cobblestone streets, medieval-style houses, farmers hauling crops, a blacksmith hammering away at an actual forge—
It was perfect.
Rin grinned, stepping forward—
And immediately got side-eyed by everyone.
Right.
She was still naked.
A passing merchant screamed, dropped his basket, and bolted.
A group of kids gasped, pointed, and started yelling.
Some dude in a guard uniform choked on his drink.
Rin blinked.
“…Oh. Right.”
She had long since stopped caring about nudity after spending months running through fire, water, and snow, but—
Yeah. This was a normal village. With normal people.
“Okay,” she muttered. “First objective: Clothes.”
She casually walked toward the nearest market stall—
Only for the guard from earlier to rush forward, spear in hand.
“H-HALT! Identify yourself!”
Rin stared at him.
He was… tiny.
No, seriously. He looked like an actual NPC.
This is what normal people look like?
Back in the prehistoric hellscape she came from, everything had been built like a bodybuilder on steroids.
Compared to those guys, this guard was like a stick figure.
She could probably flick him unconscious.
She grinned.
"Hi there! I just woke up in the forest and need some clothes."
The guard hesitated.
Probably because:
1. She was smiling way too much for someone naked.
2. She was way too confident for someone being threatened.
3. Her body language screamed ‘I could snap your spear in half by accident.’
“…W-where are you from?” he asked cautiously.
“Ah. Funny story! I kinda just—”
Then, before she could answer—
DING!
---
[NEW OBJECTIVE: BLEND INTO SOCIETY]
Obtain clothing.
Avoid getting arrested for public indecency.
Don’t punch anyone (yet).
---
Rin sighed.
"Look, can I just get some pants first? Then we can talk."
The guard blinked.
“…I’ll go get the village chief.”
And with that, he ran off.
Rin folded her arms.
“…I feel like I’m failing the isekai protagonist test already.”
