Chapter 18:
Authors reincarnation
I started to feel a metallic taste in the back of my throat.
I put my right hand into my mouth, a thick green liquid stuck to my fingers, a scent of copper crawling into my nose.
Right, a little touch I added, the people in my setting aren't exactly human after all.
The situation is dire, knowing her there is probably a horde of spiders on their way here. Think think think think think think think think think think think think think think think think think think think think think think think think think think think think think think think think think think think think think think think think think think think think think think.
I planted my hands on the ground and started to push.
I thought that i could just flee the situation when things became though. I thought that I could just jump in my bag and get away.
In this world, the best way to strength is to be honest. Be truly honest with yourself, with others and the world itself will believe you.
I have been lying ever since I got here, my name is a lie too. Liam is dead and I am wearing his skin, saying that I am him while trying to fit in as a different person.
I am a coward... oh for fucks- now is not the time to be a depressed bag of organs.
I suddenly feel so... light. It is as if I was empty, my own weight has disappeared.
Suddenly, I found myself in front of the spider boss. I can see a spider on Kaans back, Mustafa and Tiechie are not in my sight, I can see Vraire and Kemal trying to restrict the bosses foremost legs while still pinning her arms.
My vision flashed again, my hand rams a knife into the spider that bit Kaans shoulder. I can't see as much as last time but from this point of view I must have mounted something or someone.
Another flash, the spider boss bit down on my arm while I threw the spider stuck to a knife at another spider.
This time my point of view is from a low point, the bosses positioning implies that she threw me off her.
The next image I saw her getting tackled by Mustafa.
In the next flash i was... I honestly don't know, just a few spiders.
A lot of spiders now, how do they all fit in those cracks?
Oh, those aren't cracks. Just even more spiders.
Dam, my vision is buried by spiders. How am I gonna survive this?
Oh, am I gonna die?
That may very well be, I don't have plot armor after all.
Actually I probably do have plot armor, but not as strong as Lawrences. I'm probably one of those characters who die halfway through the story who give the main character a boost in character growth which gives them a new perspective and that new perspective is just what they needed to solve the current impossible crisis.
In the next flashback I must be on the ground, I'm just looking up at the ceiling-
"auuuughhhhhh"
"He's alive."
"Shouldn't you be happier about it?"
"Why aren't you happy about it?"
"I don't even know the guy, he's your friend."
"Both of you shut the fuck up- ahhh."
I clutched my head in pain and hissed out words I didn't understand myself.
"What happened?"
"We found you while committing arson on spider webs you were full of venom and a pretty hard concussion."
Were those flashes caused from the damage to my short term memory?
I looked up at the two, Raya and some albino... I can't be bothered to remember, my brain flinches with every heartbeat.
I felt a stinging pain that subsided pretty quickly.
"AAAaaaghhhahahaAAAAhhhahaa"
I looked down at my left arm and saw a hand squeezing the bite wound.
"The hell are you doing."
"You have a concussion, you can't fall asleep."
"I'm not going to sleep."
"How would you know? You don't know how long you were out. The longer you're knocked out the worse the brain damage."
"Don't you preach to me about brain damage."
"While we're at damage."
Raya chimed in like the unwelcome addition she is.
"I could treat most of the venom in you, but I would need that spider ladies venom to treat you completely. You're not in fighting shape."
That's really not goooooood aaaghhh...
"where... Where did she go?"
"Not sure, I saw the wolf siblings and Vraire race deeper down."
"Greaaaaaat..."
"Is he okay?"
"No."
I can't think with these random surges of pain...
"nnnnghhh, Raya, thistle tea."
Raya raised a questioning eyebrow but reached into her pouch and pulled out a small bag of tea leafs.
"Bag."
She handed me the bag along the tea leafs.
I pulled a pot out of my storage space. I set it up with three rocks, doesn't matter that it's uneven.
I pulled out the ladder from my storage space along with a hatched.
"One of you chop this up and the other get me a dead spider."
After a few moments of confused silence Raya decided that this might not be oddest think I might have done and went to fetch a spider.
The albino girl was left with the task of chopping up the ladder. After a moment of confused consideration she decided that it might be a better option than putting silk on fire.
I went through the potions in my storage, I know that there is one with an aloe base.
After sniffing a bunch of potions I found the one with the classic aloe smell. I poured it in the put.
I got a fly agaric from my bag and tore it to chunks and put it in the potion.
"Is this good?"
The albino showed me the firewood she turned a part of the ladder into.
I just nodded and put most of it under the pot.
"Got a light?"
She conjured a mages light, floating candle flame. The small flame touched the tip of the wood piece I'm holding and ignited it.
I put it under the pot along the rest before the flames suddenly exploded, almost scorching my hand.
"What the hell?"
I looked around and the only possible culprit is the albino.
Where is Raya? I know that the spiders are no threat to her:
