Chapter 10:

End of everything

End of Despair

Zetsu: "I don't know why that old man complied so easily... is he planning something?"

She looked at the endless black wall and placed her hand close to it.

Zetsu: "I can feel the vibrations... countless universes, a few centimeters away from utter destruction..."

A genuine, yet subtle smile began to form on her face.

Zetsu: "This is all I've ever wanted... to live up to my name... to make everyone rejoice in despair... even if it costs me my life..."

She put her middle finger and thumb together and flicked the wall, breaking a small section of it.

The Central Universe was the hub of all existing universes, not just the human and divine realms. Each universe was within that black wall, representing only a small dot. It was possible to manipulate or pass through them through the Central Universe. Only beings with celestial protection could access it or even survive within it.

Since Zetsu was still heavily injured, there wasn’t much she could do until she fully recovered. Kanata’s vessel plan was probably just an excuse for Zetsu to get stronger while having control over the fight. The other gods and the divine council wouldn’t accept losing to her, and she wouldn’t like the possibility of losing to another god either. In short, she was a coward.

Even though she was injured, she was much stronger than before, but much more fragile. If she tried to punch the great wall, she would die instantly. However, she needed to destroy many universes quickly to increase her power. As she said, taking damage was one way to become stronger. Causing damage was another.

The wall shattered and many universes ceased to exist. Nearby universes felt the tremor and fell into despair. Zetsu felt immense pain and power coursing through her veins, tearing her body apart from within. She smiled painfully.

Zetsu: "I don't care what the God of Observation had in store for me... he probably doesn't care about his job anymore and just does whatever the fuck he wants... As long as he doesn't get in my way..."

She absorbed all the despair she could from the universes she destroyed and those she was about to destroy, making her significantly stronger. She smiled madly and prepared to punch the wall.

Zetsu: "Do you hear this, divine council?! There is nothing you can do to stop me! This would not be happening if you had not caused despair to reign over the human realm!"

She punched the wall, breaking a significant portion of it. She coughed up blood and held her heart, as if it were about to explode. She punched it again and again, smiling as her body tried to comprehend the amount of power it was receiving.

Zetsu: "This is all your fault! Had you not made humans live an insufferable life, I would not have existed!"

She stopped to catch her breath. She had no plan for what to do next. Her very existence was about causing and receiving despair. Then, she summoned her giant knight puppet.

Zetsu: "But I'm glad to be alive... At least I can reign over what's left of this little ordeal... Right, God of Observation?!"

The knight punched the wall, shattering it even further. It wasn't just a thin wall, as it stretched on for who knows how long after the surface. The visible part of the wall collapsed, leaving a huge hole where life had once been. The white void began to tremble and lose light.

Someone placed a hand on Zetsu's shoulder.

Zetsu: "Huh?"

Unknown: "So you're the one causing unnecessary havoc."

Zetsu turned and threw a punch at the threat. She caught her fist effortlessly. It was a beautiful woman with white hair and blue eyes, wearing a black cape and a strange black hat. Zetsu grabbed her knife with the other hand and aimed for the woman's eye. She also caught the knife with her bare hand and smashed it into pieces.

Unknown: "I knew this was a mistake. Thanks for enlightening me."

Zetsu: "Who is she? What the fuck is happening? Why is she powerful? It doesn't matter, I have to get out of here!"

As she tried to fly away, the woman grabbed her by the neck, like Zetsu usually did. The knight tried to punch her head from behind. The woman flicked her hand towards it, releasing an everlasting trail that caused a dimensional failure. The borders were black and flickering, the center white and unable to process what had once been there, even if it was just a white void to begin with. The knight vanished into thin air, or thin void.

Unknown: "I'm tired. I will be resting for a while. The third dimension... no, existence can take a break too."

Unknown snapped her fingers and everything ceased to exist. Every universe, timeline, dimension, reality... it was all gone, who knows for how long. How am I still talking to you? Maybe I was observing everything from my throne, watching reality unfold like a movie. Maybe I am an old man who just wanted to see everything perish. Maybe I recorded these lines for this kind of situation. Maybe... Maybe this will affect you too. Be careful. Or not, there's is nothing I or you can do-
