To our final destination...

When we woke up, we were cuddling. Even though Evelyn was taller than me, she was resting in my chest, I gently pet her head as I was trying to wake up, Evelyn didn’t take that much to wake up again, she let out a sigh while rubbing her face in my chest.

We didn’t want to get out of the futon but we needed to, someone knocked at the door but before we could get apart from each other the person spoke without opening the door, it was the attendant.

“We are going to have breakfast in no time, make sure to be ready.”

We could hear how the steps of the attendant went and we looked at each other holding our laughs, we took the futon and tidied the room while we were washing our faces and cleaning our teeth, after thirty minutes we were looking into the window and the attendant opened the room.

“Sorry to bother~”

Pillows and tables were being put on the floor along with some dishes, miso soup, fresh fish, a bowl of rice, some eggs, and fresh cut tomatoes and cucumbers and a nice cup of hot green tea.

We started eating and enjoyed the meal, when we finished, the waitress took the plates and tables along with the pillows and the attendant shook our hands.

“Thank you for choosing this inn as your place to stay, I hope to see you again sometime.”

“This place is magnificent, miss, thank you so much for letting us stay in such an elegant and divine place.”

The attendant laughed and went out of the room.

“Take your time, the room is not reserved but if someone comes, I will ask you to leave immediately, I hope you understand that.”

“We will, don’t worry.”

We changed our clothes and took our stuff as we went to the reception room and said our goodbyes to the attendant, we went to a store to buy more food for the way in and then took a bus, the bus left us in a place where only grass and trees could be seen.

Evelyn didn’t say anything but I could see the sadness and excitement in her eyes, it’s been more than a month since she entered this world and we don’t even know if the real door to her hometown is in here, but we must try, I hit the back of Evelyn and move my head to the forest.

Evelyn nodded and she took out her blade and put it at the side of her hip, we entered the forest and saw a ton of insects, butterflies, spiders, bees, and a ton of other animals like small lizards, frogs and cats running around.

“This place reminds me of the one we visited, there is a lot of fauna.”

“Yeah, I didn’t even know there was such a place, but I don’t think it is a place we could visit every time, it must be regulated by someone, I don’t think we should be here.”

“Eh? Is not this place open to all people?”

“Well, I don’t think so… I don’t really know.”

Evelyn approached me, holding my chicks and looking me in the eyes.

She puffed her chicks and let go of me and we continued walking around the place.

We stood upon a waterfall, a small one, we were climbing places and Evelyn helped me out in some of them, I could feel how the sweat started to wet my clothes but Evelyn was just fine.

“Ev… can we stop for a moment?...”

“Eh?” —Evelyn looked at me and she approached me. “You are sweating a lot… are you ok?”

“Yeah, I just… I just need a little rest”

We sat down in the middle of the trees, I lay down in a tree and started breathing in and out while massaging my legs, Evelyn gave me water and I looked at her smiling.

“Sorry, I knew this would happen but I thought I could push myself a little more”

I cough and look at the sky.

“Do not do that, Azura… You know I get worried easily with you…”

I look at the side and touch Evelyn’s hand.

“Don’t do such face, I’m gonna be okay”

Evelyn rested her head on my arm as I drank sips of water while I looked at the sky, I wanted to say a lot of things but I knew I shouldn’t, my eyes got watery but I refuse to cry now, I calm my breath and smile when I look at Evelyn.

“You look hilarious when you try to look like if you were shorter to me”

“Wha!-“

Evelyn gasped and stood up mad, I laughed and hit her arm gently.

“I do love your height, you have an amazing figure and you look like a goddess like that receptionist said”

Evelyn blushed and I continued my way in but she lifted me to her face.

“You seem like a true prince that… uhm…”

“At the contrary of you, I don’t get flustered with comparison because I know they are not true”

“But you are cute”

“Cute is not something I wanna heard Ev… put me down”

Evelyn put me down and she whispered.

“You are like a prince to me…”

“What you said?”

Evelyn smirked and touch my cheek with her finger

“Curious, you did hear me, did you?”

I looked at Evelyn seriously but she only laughed while I lifted my hands up.

“Alright, you got me, then follow me princess, I, your prince will guide you to this place”

“My, my, what a gentleman”

We both laughed as we continued our way into the forest, we took a break to lunch and to let the food sink, after that we went straight into a cave that the message told us to go in.

“I can’t see anything”

“I can do something about it”

Evelyn put her hands together and pressed really hard, and after that a small particle of light started to follow us.

“Magic…”

“It is very mediocre magic thought… is the only thing I could learn for my travels into dark places…”

“You kidding? I can’t even do this, this is awesome Ev!”

Evelyn smile at me and hug me, I blushed instantly and she let go of me after seeing my face

“What was that phrase again, oh right, gotcha!”

I sigh and bit my lip as we continue to go into the cave

“I thought there would be more lighting, but even with your little trick I can’t see really well”

“You will get used to it-“

Evelyn got his humor down when she saw how I turned off my flashlight.

“You had that?...”

“I did forget… sorry, but your magic is still awesome, I love it”

“Yeah… and now it is useless again…”

“Eeev…”

I consoled Evelyn as I went more into the cave, it was quite large, we went down and tried to look at the giant rock that the image showed us, and it wasn’t that far away, it was at the end of the cave and we saw it.

“Now what?” —I said.

Evelyn started to touch the rock and I turned off the flashlight letting only the light from the little particle that Evelyn summoned be the light across the room, I looked into the photo and at the rock.

Half an hour passed and Evelyn came to me.

“Nothing”

“I might have something… Ev, I need you to complete this part, make it with your sword”

“Okay”

I showed the photo to Evelyn at a distance while she drew the symbols into the rock with the help of her particle, when she was about to end the last piece, I approached her and she was shaking her hands, I held her and helped her finish.

Nothing happened, or so we thought, the symbols started to bright and a portal started to show up, Evelyn looked at it and she saw me, I nodded at her and she walked slowly towards the portal.

“I… I can’t”

“You need to…”

Evelyn looked at the portal again and put a foot inside but before she could go I grabbed her by the arm and turned her around to kiss her and push her away.

The silent invade the room and the only thing in there was me and the particle that Evelyn left
